When escaping from king’s landing. She stabbed a stable boy.
My brother made this gif yesterday.
Thanks, I’d forgotten that one.
I think whether killing Gendry gets anyone closer to anything is very much up for debate.
Then shouldn’t they be called “wight walkers”?
The Hound is actually a bit of a softy when it comes to the Stark girls.
HAH, that’s perfect.
It would be perfect if Theon brought his box up chest level, actually, but I realize the source material is a limitation!
It’s pretty obvious that Tywin was just using the “saving thousands” line as a self-serving excuse. That’s clearly what Tyrion thought.
Most of the high born in Westeros couldn’t care less about the low born and Tywin has never seemed like an exception.
As for Stannis, he wasn’t saying that sacrificing his nephew would be justified by saving thousands but it was an appropriate sacrifice to save a kingdom.
Am I remembering this wrong, or did Theon’s sister pretend to be a commoner to measure Theon, and he tried to be all cokcy and seduce her, which repulsed her? Then their dad revealed that she was his sister and was better than Theon, and gave the sister more ships and respect? Then later she mocks him some more when she finds him again and learns that his men won’t respect him?
I guess what I’m trying to say is that I thought the sister considered Theon kind of an idiot, so I was surprised that she was so gung ho on rescuing him.
It didn’t seem to repulse her, she went along with it. Probably just to embarrass him, but you know, sisters being attracted to brothers isn’t that unusual in this universe.
She does consider him kind of an idiot, but she still cares. When she pleaded for him to retreat from Winterfell, she gave an emotional story about remembering him as a child.
Theon is kind of an idiot, how else would she consider him? He’s still her brother, some people still seem to care about that.
I thought they were all white walkers, but just at different levels of decaying whitishiness.
OK makes sense, I forgot about that.
Well, sure. I didn’t say it wasn’t. Stannis and Melisandre certainly believe that sacrificing Gendry would bring Stannis closer.
shouldn’t Theon’s box fall when he let’s go?
I agree, and I think this is why the final scene with Dany is important. Unlike the vast majority of potential rulers of Westeros, she actually gives two shits about the common people. She’s not planning on setting up a representative republic with human rights enshrined in a constitution or anything like that, but she’s still preferable to every other contender for the Iron Throne. (At least with respect to inclination; I have no idea if she would be competent at governing.)
I noticed that the Previously On scenes included the bit in which Stannis put one of the leeches in the fire and said Robb Stark’s name. I think the reason is that we’re expected to understand that Stannis believes the leech ritual led to the death of Robb Stark.
3 leeches, 3 deaths?
One down!
Can’t remember who else is twixt Stannis and his throne other than the Lannisters…? Think they named names during the leech ritual, but damned if I can remember who.
Robb Stark, Balon Greyjoy and Joffrey.
Three names – Robb Stark, Joffrey Lannister and Balon Greyjoy. I have no idea why Balon Greyjoy was on Mel’s list. Did he do something to Stannis back in the day?
