I don’t think we’ve ever seen anything to indicate that she does NOT want to run the kingdom. She already has plenty of riches. What would she want to be queen for if not for power?
Adulation, which she seems to strive for, is one reason. Being the queen in a world like that is like being the world’s biggest celebrity - and if you’re a good one, everyone adores you. You’ve basically also achieved the highest position you possibly can in your society as a woman. You’re notable, you’ll go down in history.
It may be that Margaery is secretly evil and plotting all along, but we have no evidence for that. She’s manipulative and seeks higher position, sure, but so far she hasn’t done anything bad with that power. She tried to play nice with Cersei, who in turn threatened to kill her, so she’s understandably trying to drive her away. Other than that, we’ve only seen her treating people well.
I think it’s pretty clear that she wants all the power, as do most of the characters. Not just for themselves, but also to be in a stronger position to help their families.
Yep, noticed that again too. Seems like we won’t be seeing any more of the principal actors naked anymore, except for Stanis’s woman. It’s just really distracting how they’re doing it–why the sudden bouts of modesty from both of them?
Always seems to be the convienent omission of vital game changing information in GOT.
Indeed, Littlefinger didn’t tell her either, but he’s much more tricksy.
But to be fair, Sansa does ever seem to wonder or ask about Arya.
At the time, as the schemer who seemed to screw over Tyrion over a dagger, and betray Ned, I’d have thought he might not have.
Now, as the schemer who engineered the war of the five kings with what looks like a five year plan (initially Ned was supposed to support Joffrey and then depose him later, but wouldn’t, so got betrayed), I’d say almost certainly he did. But felt no need to expose her. Not in his plans…
How old is the actor playing the new King? Maybe there are … concerns.
Emilia Clarke was an unknown before GoT. Natalie Dormer was known, but not huge. Their initial contracts were probably only for one or two seasons, then their agents got to renegotiate for a much higher rate and with much more control over things like nudity… what ya gonna do?
He’s 17 now, was 16 when that scene was filmed.
Last season we saw him tell Sansa that Arya is alive. One assumes from that he recognized Arya.
Considering the kind of man her father was, is it surprising that Cersei craves respect?
It’s obvious to me that the Tyrells in general and Margaery specifically are playing the power game, specifically with the Lannisters as their main opponent.
Margaery is not just a silly girl who wants to be queen for the prestige. She knows what it means to be queen and she knows what kind of danger not being a powerful, unchallenged queen can bring you.
That doesn’t necessarily make them evil. But they live in the same world as the Lannisters and they are well informed and not naive.
Basically. I read it a as a lot more menacing. Not to Sansa, who as a woman would have not more say in marrying a Bolton than the people of Winterfell have of being under Bolton rule. It’s more like “we know what the Bolton’s did and we know who your father was. When the time comes, we will see to it that the Boltons get their comeuppance.”
I can’t remember one scene where Arya and Sansa showed any sort of fondness for one another. I just remember Arya throwing food at Sansa at Winterfell and making fun of her at Kings Landing for liking Joffrey.
Jorah really expects to live after seeing Daenerys again? Maybe death is better than being away from her.
Was it ever explained why Ned did not send Jorah to the Wall to serve?
He ran to Essos, choosing exile over the Night’s Watch (or death).
Because Jorah sold men into slavery. That’s a huge no-no in the 7 kingdoms, and the punishment for slavers is death. Not exile to the Wall - death.
Thank you, I just thought it was daddy issues.
I must have missed this bit…
We saw Littlefinger tell Sansa was was convenient for Littlefinger.
wouldn’t make that assumption. I find it more likely that Littlefinger would lie to Sansa than Littlefinger would recognize an extremely valuable hostage (Robb was alive at that point) and do nothing about it.
I don’t follow this. Could you elaborate?
