No way Tormund is dead without getting another crack at Brienne. Ditto Belric. He didn’t get all those returns just to get smooshed for nothing.
He should have either killed Cersei or been killed in that scene. IMHO, his character has run its course. He’s going to be nothing more than a hanger on for Season 8.
At least they have someone who could be a foil for Euron and the Golden Company
The least believable part was when Cersei was alone in a room with Tyrion and didn’t even try to kill him. I’ll believe ice dragon zombies bringing down an 8000 year old magic ice wall, but not that.
Re: Theon. I liked that he grew a pair after What’s-His-Name kneed him in his non-existent family jewels.
Arya killed Littlefinger with his own knife, right?
More directly, Petyr sent the assassin to kill Bran in his sleep.
I had the exact same thing thought during that scene. Was hoping Sansa would acknowledge it by saying “but you swung the blade.” As though they could combine together to fulfill their father’s legacy.
Cersei believed him that he was the only thing stopping Danaerys from torching the city. Killing Tyrion is suicide.
Petyr was in Kings Landing. How is an assasin gonna get his blade and travel all the way up to Winterfell before the royal train gets a third of the way to KL?
And why? To frame Tyrion? That assasin almost succeeded. Nearly killed Cat too. That’s a dumb plan. Joffrey doing it always made a teeny bit more sense. Though not much.
Why?
There is no evidence to support this.
He sent the blade with the assassin in the entourage. He was just sewing chaos, so he sent the assassin with instructions to kill any of the Stark kids, and leave the blade as evidence. The fact that Bran was paralyzed in bed made him an easy target, or so i guess.
It was at the end when Arya and Sansa were doing the, “You were great.” “No, YOU were great!” schtick.
Arya says Sansa convicted him and she carried out the sentence.
Agreed. Cersei would not give one sweet damn about the consequences once she had Tyrion in her clutches. That was a bit clumsy.
I’m not so sure.
At the end of the day she is a Lannister and “family is all” was drilled into them them every step of the way. Tywin hated Tyrion yet he never had him killed because he was family.
I think Cersei could kill Tyrion at some remove (e.g. placing a bounty on his head) but she could not look him in the eye and pull the proverbial trigger.
It is also possible she knows if she did that Jamie would never forgive her and he’s the only thing left she (sort of) loves in the world.
I can’t equate Cersei’s intelligence and equilibrium with Tywin’s. She’s an unhinged pregnant crazy murderess and he could calmly negotiate the Red Wedding with Roose Bolton. We’ve seen her satiate her desire for vengeance already this season with the sand snake and her mother. I don’t see that bloodthirsty bitch staying her hand when she has the chance.
Do you think Ser Friendzone was in the cabin next to Dany’s and heard ‘thud thud thud’ all night long?
Rhaegar already had a son with Elia named Aegon for one. His daughter Rhaella could introduce them: " Hi, my name’s Rhaella and this is my brother Aegon, and my other (half) brother Aegon."
If Lyanna named him that without consulting with him, she failed at naming. Unless she was unaware of his other son? I’m not sure how young he was, but he was a baby when the Lannisters took King’s Landing.
Tormund and Beric watched the people behind them fall as the wall collapsed. They were on the part that stayed standing, so they’ll be around for S8.
His dick was cut off, but I don’t remember anything about his balls getting hacked.
Anyone think there will be a Tyrion duplicity revealed later–they wrote themselves into a corner with the Tyrion/Cersie scene and had to just end it without real resolution. Maybe he promised to protect the child no matter what if she agreed to help in the fight. It will come to head later when Dany and Jon want to have her executed before giving birth.
Also…presumably Jaimie is headed north…and will warn them that Cersie is not going to hold up her end of the bargain and they are back at square one. Her letting him live didn’t make sense.
The trial/execution scene lost some drama when you saw Bran was there. No way would it be Arya with him there being able to fact check everything. I expected more Little Finger secrets to be revealed in front of everyone by him. Also…why are the Vale Knights still there? Robyn hopefully will show up sometime next season?
