Game On! A Hockey Roadtrip MMP

I’m all thoughtful like that.

Yeah, that’s our swampy: dependable, thoughtful, TMI; what more could we want? :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t sell yourself short, Taters. I know it’s intimidating to have to attend all those important meetings, but after a while, you’ll feel comfortable. I’ve attended and participated in pretty much every level of meeting there is in our agency and learned not to get worked up about it. As long as you don’t jump in when you can’t contribute to the topic at hand (which I know you won’t), you’ll be fine.

I’ve become addicted to the latest soap opera on German TV (that was the best English-language link I could find). Which is available as a video podcast, so I don’t have to worry about missing an episode. It’s a telenovela, which means that it’s a limited-length show (it’s planned for a year). Escapist TV & foreign-language practice all in one: WIN-WIN!

Guess I should toddle off to bed and try to get back to that early-to-bed, early-to-rise routine I was working on before I got sick and messed up my schedule (it’s amazing how two days can throw you off kilter!).

There was more, but I can’t remember what.

Another day done. Gordie is walked, I’m beered, life is good.

Pie, I hope it’s not that bad.

Moonie, I like the idea of sandwich whores. It would be a new twist on “Give me $5, I make you a foot long.”

74 <-----message from Gordie.

gotti, I wanna upgrade my Bubba Keg. The new ones come with a bottle opener.

Troy Roommate and his friends are in grave danger. They are playing loud beer pong, complete with music. I have been up for 16 hours, powered by two hours of sleep. They are keeping me up. I’m pretty sure at this point it’d be justifiable homicide.

Good Morning Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. I have no idea why. My bladder woke me up at five-thirty and I could not go back to sleep. GRRRRR…

So, I’m being productive. I’m runnin’ a virus scan. That is too productive!

Hope you got to sleep Moonie without too much bloodshed beforehand.

Ima make sketties and meat sauce for dindin. Friends are comin’ over about sixish to hang around a bit and eat it. I may just go ahead and start the sauce in the slow cooker. Or not. Ol’ y’all know who is snoozin’ away and the smell of peppers, garlic and onions might be a rude awakenin’. I like to saute the veggies. Is garlic a veggie? A spice? A herb? I’ve never thought about that before.

Ok, ponderin’ over garlic is just weird. I need more caffiene.

Later Y’all!

Someone at work is giving up a cat for adoption - a stray grey and white tabby - so cute and playful! Must. Not. Succumb!

It’s trivia night - all the branches in Seoul are coming to participate (we are more a corporation than a school I suppose). This will either be fun or lame. We’ll see.

Trivia night sounds fun. I’m usually pretty good at trivia games.

No plans for today, just work from 3 to 11. Maybe I’ll make some pesto tonight.

I’m up a little early today. The sky is very strange looking outside. I’m not even sure how to describe it.

I’ve been meaning to say this for awhile but keep forgetting. ** GT**, I hope you’re feeling much better by now. And sorry you have to work this weekend. (I do too.) Boo for both of us.

With the help of melatonin, I had a pretty good night’s sleep. Altho I did dream about my dad building me an apartment in the basement… of the house where I grew up… in one day… And I was less than thrilled because the bedroom had the smallest window. Plus in the dream, the basement was huge, whereas in real life, the whole house was about 1000 sq ft. And my folks sold that house in '79. And my dad died in '02. Is melatonin a hallucinogen?

When I took the doggies out, I noted that the yard is somewhat less soggy. There’s still a little snow on the roof, but not much. With the warming today, it should set up even more. And no rain in the forecast for a week at least. Maybe we won’t be surrounded by a mud pit after all. However, we are surrounded by a gazillion branches, some twig-size, some small-tree-size. Much yard work awaits. huzzah.

I hear my sweetie in the shower. I’m guessing we’ll hit breakfast before heading to the marina. I’m going to leave the house open - cheers for fresh air!

**Haze **- what about Olive? Or is she living with your mom? Still, poor kitteh needs a loving home…

Speaking of kittehs, one or both unrolled a ball of yarn all over the living room again. It’s so funny to see the strand zigged and zagged across the floor…

Morning Mumpers!. Food Drive today, then work.

Oh. * Now I understand about the sky. * It’s pouring down the rain and there’s lots of rumbly thunder. Yeah, this surely will entice people to visit fleamarket land.:stuck_out_tongue:

ETA: Doggio, your food drive just gave me a strange idea. More on that later…

Good luck with the food drive, doggio!

::Looks cautiously out the window:: Sky looks normal here. Kinda pretty, actually.

Yes…feeling lots better, thanks.

I’m finding ways to limit the amount of time I have to work (what’s the absolute minimum amount I need to read?), but I have so much junk I’m behind on, it’s depressing. :frowning:

In cheerier news, the knitting needle case I’m knitting is about 1/4 done. And I figure today is a good day to start unraveling another sweater.

Need to figure out what I’m taking to a potluck this afternoon. I’m sure there’s something in the blog that will work. I was thinking of not going, but decided I needed something fun to do this weekend and this is guaranteed to be a distraction.

Off to find breakfast…

GT

Morning all; up and caffeinating here. Daughter and I will be heading to Tar-jay in a bit; I need to get some Omega 3 fish oil capsules and some other stuff.

FCM, glad to hear that you got a good night’s sleep. Sounds like melatonin does give weird dreams, though! Is Taz back on your list, btw?

Haze, yeah, how is Olive doing?

And good morning to you, Swampy; garlic and onions … hmmm, they’re probably considered herbs, but I’m not sure!

Okay, I gotta go get ready. Happy Saturday all!

Good morning!

Yay for Saturdays. My tummy hurts a little though. Blurf.

Breakfast for everyone soon. Mr Rebo already went to Lowe’s for paint. I don’t know where he gets all that energy…

ReboSon’s car is out of the shop and is back in his hands. We’ve discussed a re-payment plan. He agreed. Of course he agreed! Will he follow through? Who knows. I’m just glad we could get the thing fixed. He really tore it up. <sigh>

I will be taking the dogs to the park later. Mr Rebo just took them for a ride to Lowe’s, so I can say “park” out loud. Hee! We need rain so bad, but none is on the horizon - maybe some sprinkles tonight. So the weather is perfect for the doggie park. Did I ever tell you the name of the park is Millie Bush’s Bark Park? Ain’t that cute? It’s part of the larger Bush Park, named after Bush the Elder, who lives in Houston I believe.

Yays and boos, hugs and trout… Love ya all!

-Rebo

Here’s what I figured out. Garlic is a seasoning and onions are a veggie. Seasoning is broad, I know, but it’s not a N.O.H.. Nor is it a spice. It’s more like a veggie but we don’t eat it like we do veggies. So, in conclusion, garlic is good whatever it is.

Howzat?

Meat sauce is simmerin’ away in the slow cooker. Kitchen smells of garlic, peppers and onions. Not that that is a bad thing. Brekkies was cereal.

I’s sleepified.

Morning all. Have read all and retained some.

Healing vibes out to pie for her footie.

taters, I used to have a supervisor who would ask me if I wanted to take a break and would then dump an entirely new project on me. That is not a break anywhere AFAIK.

swampy, I agree with tarra bout garlic being an herb.

I have an annivesary bonus (a hunnert dollars) from work that I want to go spend this morning so I guess I’ll go get cleaned up and be off. Gonna be about 80 degrees Murkin today. Whoot!

Tupug

Just saw an ad for “Business Sympathy Cards.” What is this exactly, a card you send to a business associate when a loved one has passed or do you send it to someone whose business ceases to exist? I didn’t click on the ad because it was one of those fleeting ones on Facebook that catches your eye just as you’ve clicked on something else.

So, garlic is a herb N.O.H. and onions are a veggie. I’m glad we have that all settled.

Puggy have fun spendin’ your hunnert dollahs!

Hmmmmmmm…

“Thinking of you on the loss of your business”

:: opens card ::

“And LMAO cause you deserve it!”
I should send that off to Hallmark now!

Yes, along the same lines that I was thinking.

Well, I just received a call from my client and she is on her way. I was kind of worried because it’s all just free food to her. But it was alot of money that I spent on that free food and I’d hate for it to go to waste. (Ok, so I’d eat some of it myself. But that big bag of broccoli and another one of celery, not likely to be consumed by yours truly.) And that’s another thing, how far would you drive for free food? This is $100 worth of free crudites and cheese and crackers. Would you drive 1/2 hour to get it?

I suppose I’m probably rambling today. Sorry…
