I don’t think I have any plans for during the day, but we’re going out to dinner tonight with some friends.

Gewd afternoon, ladies and gentlemen and whatever else might be lurking here! I am awake. Managed to inflict minimal casualties last night, although the one jackass who kept screaming “FUCK!” at the top of his lungs at 3AM whenever anything happened did end up having his spinal column ripped out and used to sodomize him before being garroted with his own intestines.
Either that or I had the most satisfying dream EVER.
No breakfast, due to sleeping til 11AM or so. Not hungry atm either. Have half of last nights sub left for when I do decide to eat. Yay. Today is for homework. I have many much work to do. It’s too warm today. Window open, and its like 70something. Shirtless weather. WTB the cold back!

Swampy - Onions and Garlic both belong to a special food group known as “Deliciousizers” on account of they make food delicious. True story. Also, plz send sauce.

Hazel - Normally I’m all for Trivia Night but… Aren’t you a teacher or a librarian or something? I forget, but I doubt I’d stand much chance against either in a knowledge contest, unless all the questions are about internet memes and videogames… :rolleyes:

Decided not to go to the potluck after all, since I just took about a 2-hour nap. Need to do a bit more relaxing, then head in to work to read for a while (I have to read parts of proposals and it’s way too much to carry home, so I’m going to go there.)
*I *would drive 1/2 an hour for $100 in free food, Pie. I drive just under that to get to Trader Joe’s where I pay for the food. I don’t do it really often, but I think 1/2 an hour is reasonable.
I just googled business sympathy cards and found that they’re not that creative, unfortunately. I like your ideas better, swampy and Pie.

I’ma knit some more and then think about going in to work…

You know, I posted this just about awhile ago, but it didn’t take.

Also, I made brownies for dessert tonight. Go me! I discovered I have a jar of hot fudge sauce. Ok, it will be hot fudge sauce when it gets heated. I think a brownie with a big ol’ scoop of niller ice cream and some hot fudge sauce on top will make a good dessert. Think maybe I’ll offer some chopped pecans as a topping for those who wish to indulge.
Now I want me a brownie with niller ice cream and hot fudge sauce!

Home after a day of boat working. We’re all exhausted. SIL has to go back to work tonight - poor guy. Tomorrow, I’ll be hanging around waiting for the cable guy while I do laundry. Once he’s gone, I’ll run back to the marina to do a little more painting before going for groceries.
Got some sad news today - a marina friend is having to sell his boat. Last fall, he was diagnosed with early alzheimer’s. He’s in his 60s - real sweethear of a guy. I’m hoping we can go see him before he gets any worse.
Getting old sucks.
On the other hand, crap legs for supper. They’re almost ready, so I’m off to eat. Laterz!!!

CraB legs - and they were yummmmm! I bought 5 clusters for each of us, and I now know to buy 4 clusters. The leftovers may become crab salad. Or a crab quiche. We’ll see.
I think I’m tired enough that I won’t need melatonin to help me drop off. Of course, I might try a little toasted almond - for medicinal purposes only, of course.
Incidentally, anyone who shows up in the next 30 minutes or so and massages my feet will be my BFF and will be exempt from all future chocolate love offerings. Such a deal!!

Still no snow here, but it’s definitely cold and the wind is not helping.
Home from dinner and almost time for bed. But a mini bundt cake might taste good first. FCM, can you email me some of that ice cream to go with it?
Crabs are delicious.
However, they are so much work to eat that the deliciousness is overridden by the frustration. I’ll stick to Lobster if I want shellfish.
Also, has anyone here tried that Dasani water with fruit “essence”? It’s got lime or cherry or whatever flavor, but no sugar and (thank goodness) no artificial sweetener. Just water and fruit flavor. It’s awesome!
MOOOOOM I would bring ya some brownies and hot fudge but it’s a looooooong drive so the hot fudge would get cold and I’d get hungry and eat the brownies, so I guess it’s not such a good idea.
Everybody has et and gone. I’m glad. I wanted it to be an early evening. We had mimosas then dindin. Afterwards we sat around a bit and chatted and everybody went home. The dishwasher is dishwashin’ and I’m chillin’. Think we might go lie upon the bed and watch teevee or a movie.

Trivia night was fun - we lost by two points, boo. Alistair, yes, I’m a teacher. ::adjusts glasses and gives stern look:: The thing is though that EVERYONE there was a teacher :smack:. I currently work at the main branch of a huge ESL institute (probably the biggest in Korea at this point) and the trivia night was for the faculty of all the Seoul branches.
Olive is fine, thanks everyone for remembering her! 
She is with my parents right now - they’ve totally fallen in love with her and I don’t have the heart to take her away from them. So I might get another cat when I move out for good in the fall.
Got up early to get some work down. Behind me, Mr Irishman snores blissfully away.
