Miller - actually, reading Guin’s comment more closely, she was just talking about behaviour in this thread, nothing more, so I was wrong about that - apologies Guin. I falsely conflated her with others. OTOH, I do think that getting a more rounded picture of someone is a good thing to do before judging them.
IMO you’d be being overpresumptious and calling his whole person an asshole rather than just his behaviour. I think you have to know more than a few posts from a person before you can assess their character. But then, I know that few people in the pit (paul included, probably) would agree with me on that one.
I think there are enough people piling on to paul in this thread. We take our disagreements elsewhere.

I don’t think it’s possible to seperate the person from his behavior. The only way to know who a person is, is to observe how he behaves. Of course, being his friend, you have the opportunity to observe his behavior more closely and regularly, which gives your opinion more weight. On the other hand, being his friend, you’re going to be biased in any judgement you make about his behavior, which gives your opinion less weight. Kinda makes it a wash.
Possibly because he was trying to illustrate the insulting and hypocritical nature of paul’s OP through parody? Hence all the quote marks around the pronouns. That’s how I read it, anyway. Of course, he’s my boyfriend and all, so I’d expect you to put as much weight on my opinion of Sol as I do on your opinion of paul, if not less.

I never implied that he was “secretly gay.” For one, I was in the middle of insulting him, and that wouldn’t be an insult coming from me. Are you getting that because I kept saying “him” or calling him “it?” That wasn’t a gay thing; that was to show exactly how asinine it was to keep doing it to someone else – it’s really, really obnoxious, not just “having a go at ‘her’” and “no big deal” and “there’s some objective question as to her gender identity in three states.”
And I wasn’t implying that he’s transphobic. I was saying it outright. I don’t see any other justification for showing such little respect for someone that you continue to call them by a gender or than what they want to be called. If there is some non-asshole justification for it, paulberserker has yet to offer one, only “just havin’ a bit o’ fun, hey what? Why are you all dogpiling me and whining?”

While “modeling headshot” and “working for McD’s” seem contradictory, I suppose it is somewhat plausible. However, notice the filename: there is a Hong Kong actress by the name of Chimgmy Yau, though I can’t find a photo of the actress that matches the one of the supposed Mrs. Six.

I’m somewhat upset. I found Kaitlyn’s posts about her experiences to be very informative. I was pleased when she confirmed my statement in a thread about transsexualism. Now it may be that much or all of what I thought I learned from her is a fallacy.
If I was reading fiction when I believed I was reading a personal account, that’s not necessarily time wasted. But how do I know if the source of those stories is credible? If Kaitlyn was a straight white male all along, he still may be an authority on the subject; he may know a transsexual, and have gotten some other information from careful study. But perhaps not.
And it’s that question that bothers me.

Eh. Most of Can of Pineapple’s accusations seem pretty thin to me. Four years ago, Kaitlyn was engaged to a Filipino woman. Now she’s married to a Korean woman. Amazingly enough, being engaged to a woman does not always mean you end up marrying her. Especially when the potential groom is an undiagnosed transsexual. Gosh, what could possibly have gone wrong with that relationship, and why wouldn’t the former Number Six want to share all the gory details with us?
Oh, and she may have lied about her age, which makes her entirely unique in the history of all womankind.
Number Six was the fraud, an invention based very loosely on certain aspects of my brother’s life, with some details borrowed from the lives of some of my wife’s friends. Nearly everything I ever posted here about any aspect of my personal life before late December of last year was a lie, mostly made up out of whole cloth, with certain elements borrowed from my brother’s life. The lies weren’t even consistent with each other, as has been pointed out here. As in my real life, I was attempting to pass myself off as something I wasn’t, and doing a poor job of it.
Given the number of lies I was telling up to the posting of the “Number Six is a Girl” thread, there’s really no reason why anyone should believe me now, and I don’t expect that many will. I had hoped to make a clean break from the lies and deceptions I had been spreading up to that point by starting fresh and being completely open and honest. I have no doubt few if any will believe this. A history of consistently lying about who and what I am does not make me a trustworthy person, and everyone here is justified in assuming that what I say here is also a lie. Were I in the shoes of a third party, I likely would not believe me either.
What I have been posting here since December is the truth. I do not expect anyone to believe that, and I can offer no excuse for the lies I told up to that point that probably will make it impossible for anybody to believe what I say now. I would not believe me either.
I offer no excuse, and do not ask for anyone to believe me or to trust me. No excuse would be sufficient, and I hope that I’ve harmed nobody but myself. Anyone who has been offended is right and justified in taking offense. If the staff and administration here chooses to ban me, I will accept that this is entirely justified.
