Besides, in our fucked-up society, trans people are forced to lie, just to have a normal, unharangued life, because we’re all too uptight to let go of our irrational attachment to gender prejudices. Kaitlyn could be playing the “pity me, I’m a victim” card, but she’s not. She is owning up to being dishonest. That shows class.

Being completely open and honest would have meant admitting to the lies before being found out. A “Coming Clean” thread at that time, explaining about the lies and telling the truth, would have made it so much easier to believe you, and you would have been in no greater risk of banning than you are now.
What’s with the pictures? I’m not ready to swear that Chingmy Yau is the person in the picture of Mrs Six, but if she isn’t, why is the picture called Chingmy? Why is yours called Gilda? If the pictures are in fact not of you and Mrs Six, why post them when you had already said in another thread that you didn’t want to post pictures? Taking those kinds of risk and displaying that kind of behaviour bespeaks a serious disturbance. I’m not saying this as an insult, merely as a statement of fact.
So if one looks around, one will find another banned poster who didn’t want to post under their real name?
Yeah but how do you know she’s telling the truth now? The brother ‘explanation’ doesn’t tell us why she lied about teaching for 10 or is it 18 years? What’s with the obviously borrowed photos?

Kaitlyn, who cares about the whole thing. You seem like a cool person, and the actress who plays Sun on Lost is way hotter than Halle Berry and a better actress to boot.
My views on you remain unchanged until you cancel the pillow fight. Then you are nothing to me. 
Since she’s been lying for the last 4 years, I don’t really see how allegedly being honest for two months is a “good start”, especially since she didn’t fess up until she was caught. :dubious:

That’s true enough, but you have to start somewhere. If she has been telling the truth since the thread she referenced, I do consider that a good start. Long way to go, but still… I am curious about the picture thing though.

If Kaitlyn Number Six hadn’t been a well-liked poster, she’d’ve been banned so fast it’d make our heads spin. Because people are unwilling to believe that they have been thoroughly played, they give the well-liked poster praise.
The double-standard is mind-boggling.
Fortunately for a few months now every time I have seen the phrase “class act” (or any permutations thereof) I have mentally substituted “pile of shit.” At least 4/5 of the time it ends up being far more accurate than the former.

Nope, and I didn’t say that either. I think that if you’re either lying to yourself about who you really are, or hiding who you are out of necessity, it’s easy to rationalize coming into a community of strangers and lying to them about your personal life.
I was anticipating that people would imply that Kaitlyn’s lies were motivated by malice or you-know-what-ishness, and I was voicing my opinion that they may have been justifiable self-preservation.
Maybe I’m taking this too personally. Before I found my place in the world (and graduated high school), I was a fibber who could have given Fflewddur Fflam a run for his harpstrings. It was because I was “different”, I didn’t fit in, I wasn’t socialized into conformity. I could have easily been an object of contempt, but what I really needed in order to be honest was understanding. I was lucky enough to find a place where I felt safe enough to be myself, and now I am so truthful that sometimes I sabotage myself. My only problem was being geeky and gay. Imagine how much harder it is for people who are generally seen as “freaks”.
IMVHO, I think Kaitlyn lied to protect herself from a very real social threat, and protected herself until she felt safe enough around us to be “real”.

Thinking back on it, I am a bit surprised there wasn’t media coverage over a transgendered teacher teaching an elementary school classroom. Especially in Texas. IMHO, I would have thought somebody would have run to the news with that.
