Managed over 5 hours of sleep last night, so a little better than yesterday. Today’s one of my disgustingly long ones (up at 0400, out the door by 0540, won’t be home until 2030, if that early). To my relief, a problem co-worker has today off. We won’t notice any loss to productivity, really, and I’ll be a lot happier without having to deal with his mood swings. Just hoping the even bigger PITA is either off today or on a different shift so I don’t have to deal with her attitude.
Yeah, we have those three also, along with the rest of the usual suspects. Roy Rogers and White Castle are missing (White Castle because we are below the WC-Krystal dividing line, which is about 100 miles north at Nashville).

It’s only 3% but it is a gift that keeps on giving. Some folks get cash awards but I prefer a raise.

That is probably the point. Bonuses are nice at the time but the raise adds up. One year I got a $1000 bonus before tax which was actually $705 after tax. Yea, just give me the raise.

I got a call from my dad last night. One of the women that I used to hang around with at irk when I lived up north called him wanting my contact info (he was smart enough to relay the message rather than give it to her). She is mentally ill and the last time she found my address, she showed up on my doorstep one day. I had to call for a psych eval when she got more than weird. :eek:
She told Dad that she needed to get word to me about another coworker from 20+ years ago who was terminal. I may call her tonight, but I will block my number. We’re not sure how she got Dad’s, as he hasn’t had a landline for years.
Think it was my third computer that had those little 3.5" disks. At least I managed to skip from cassette tapes to 5" floppies and never had to deal with the monster 8" disks.
Now, the 3.5" disks are a curiosity, but I still have an external USB floppy drive, so I can read old disks and find that the file types are obsolete and useless. :smack:
Well, maybe not completely useless. I managed to find an Illustrator plugin that lets me read some of my old graphics files with rather variable results.
I no longer have an external floppy. Shoot, this will likely be my last desktop with a CD/DVD drive (OK, maybe my last desktop period ). The desktop, printer, laptop, tablet and phone will all take SD cards, so that tends to be my method of storage.
