Getting to work on time - a commuting MMP

Blurf.

ekemom drinks coffee via Folgers single packs. We have a little electric teapot that heats up to boiling in a few minutes. We also use that to wash dishes, because we have no hot water in the trailer, just in the main house.

Up; caught up on recruiting; next simulated Flashes game is at Ohio State in their Big Ten opener.

Might have a bowl of Corn Chex later, but that would require washing a bowl, and I’m lazy right now. Blah. Also, we’ll make sandwiches later.

Dinner (after Men’s Chorale and Choir rehearsal) will be tilapia and boiled potatoes.

Pretzels and candy corn make a great snack mix!

Mooom, your Keurig tea guy at irk is nuts. Anything beside coffee that’s made in one that is used for coffee, tastes like coffee.

sari, you may try gift cards that can be used for anything for your homeless niece. iTunes or GooglePlay cards for her kids. That would show that you remembered them, but not add to the clutter.

We had our safety lunch today. Decent BBQ, beans, N.O.T. salad, cornbread, tea and cookies. Tonight I go to TPAC to see Neil deGrasse Tyson.

**red **- that’s the other thought I had, but I didn’t know how the device works. Frankly, I find it’s just as easy to stick a mug of water in the microwave for 2 minutes, then drop a teabag into it. Not to mention cheaper…

Boss still hasn’t given me any work. My engineer said he had a model I could start to work on, but he didn’t check it in before leaving (his kid was sick) so I was locked out of it. I’ve been surfing for better than 2 hours. I’ll be gone in another hour, so there’s that.

Take good notes. I was in the audience for this presentation about 5 years ago
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vfOpZD4Sm8 and I hope you’re as blown away as I was.

Sari, gift cards are my saving grace at Xmas. And belated congrats to Sah-son for the ‘Fonzie’ grades (you know, AAAAAAAAY…)

FCM, the only thing worse than too much work is no work at all…which is my problem these days. I post here to keep my brain cells active during the work day.

I don’t drink coffee; never have. In fact, I don’t drink any hot beverage, except for a hot sweet tea in Abu Dhabi that they serve guests. I also do not eat pizza; I’m sometimes surprised that I’m still allowed to be an American…

Swampy would point out that beans are not a very safe thing to serve at a safety lunch.

So, just one spark on the production floor?

Howdy Y’all! Irk has been survived on a dreary, drizzly day. Rah. Dindin shall be ham, green beans, scalloped cheesey N.O.T., and rolls. It shall be good.

Spidey I had a good <snerk> when I saw beans and a safety N.O.L. mentioned together.

Gift cards are the way to go IMNSHO. Those whom I gift will get gift cards. Call it impersonal, but I just don’t care. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

Lunch eaten (sandwiches), car gassed up; next stop church.

Home with a newly re-filled tooth and a tummy full of sushi. I just this minute finished eating the sushi - I was hongree!! And I grabbed a piece of peanut butter cake fore dessert. I deserve it!

**FCD figures he’ll be home in about 3 hours, so he must be in or very close to Virginia. So YAY!! I don’t know who will be happier - Higgs or me!! I’m thinking I’ll be in my fuzzy robe and slippers when my sweetie gets home. I just want to be comfy.
**
metal mouse
- I figured I’d never have a successful Navy career because I don’t drink coffee and I don’t play pinochle. Guess that’s why I only made it 11 years… I will drink hot tea and hot chocolate, tho.

**swampy **- you don’t have to give me a Sonny’s gift card this year, since Sonny doesn’t have the decency to open a restaurant in Merrylande. Dammit. :stuck_out_tongue: Tho we will go while we’re in Ocala - probably for lunch one day.

Anyway, glad to be home!!!

Stuck in traffic: two bumper stickers on SUV in front of me -

Jesus Probably Loves You

Be nice to America or we’ll bring Democracy to you.

Dindin has been ingested. 'Twas good. There are leftovers from this week’s comestibles in da fridge so I have declared tomorrow night to be forage time.

gigity one of my favorite all time bumper sticker read: “Jesus loves you. The rest of us, not so much.” Cracked me up!

Time to start packing for DH’s next trip to the hospital tomorrow… Pajama pants since the “johnny” leaves nothing to the imagination, slippers because the “slipper socks” aren’t all that great, DVD player because the TV service is blah, tea because the hospital tea is ick… Just a few comforts of home to make the five days be less unpleasant.

By the time we’re done with this, we should be pros.

gotti it’s a good thing to have some home comforts. Here’s hopin’ everything goes smoothly for DH this go round.

Forgot to log off. MWAH!!

Worked as a lane lead today; don’t ask – it isn’t as glorious as it sounds. Tired and regretting I signed up for an extra shift Saturday. But the good news is that OutRageous Bingo is Saturday night and we got a good table of friends lined up. It is something to really look forward to.

Rain stopped just in time for run club; warm (for Nov - 60°ish) with just a light mist - just about perfect.

Just got home from rasslin’ with a Rotte that I never met before. He barked when I got to his door (to pick something up). At first he had his toy in his mouth & his butt up in the air, playful like, but wouldn’t come near me acting all jumpy but then he bit my jacket so I (playfully) smacked him 5 (or was it 10?) times & it was on! He wouldn’t leave me alone when the hoomans were talking & wouldn’t let me leave, leaning into me & pushing me away from the door.
I need to find an excuse to go back there.

Dinner will be this, washed down with a Punk’in beer. What, you think I’m cooking at this time of night? Sadly, it was the last box that I have & it looks like they may have stopped making them. :frowning:

That resembles some of the invertebrates in the marine aquariums. :dubious:

I mistakenly picked up a bristle worma couple of days ago. It was not nearly as painful as I expected, but it was annoying. I bought some elbow length gloves. They arrived today, I put one on and told the dog, “Come here, Penny, I must check you for anal ticks.”
She was not amused.

T.G.I.T.!!!

After a 7 day week of loons and psychos, I am ready for 2 days off. Dinner is lemon basil rice with Greek style pizza(chicken marinated in wine and rosemary, kalamata olives, lemon thyme marinated green olives, portabella mushrooms, feta cheese, and fresh oregano and basil)

I really want “Visualize Whirled Peas”

red, as long as you remember that the safety meeting and the Safety Dance are not the same, and cannot be interchanged.
