Usually an hour or so after you eat it.
This batch did. So I’m not bringing potato salad; I’ll bring lots of burger and hot dog rolls and ketchup/mustard/relish. My quick & dirty estimate: 40 burger rolls, 32 hot dog rolls? Condiments for 30?
Also, would anybody from the DC area like a lift? If so, let me know by PM or email.
I will also be bringing some chips and pretzels - burgers and dogs need chips!
Psst, Scuba_Ben, MissRobyn said she is bringing condiments. You two may want to figure out who will bring ketchup and who will bring mustard.
I’m really looking forward to this. My First GettyDope!
I’ve talked to Papa Tiger about what we should bring, but thus far we are undecided. Except it’ll be something he can throw in the crockpot the day before to cook up, and then just heat up again when we get there. Probably some delicious Guamanian or Filipino dish; those are his specialties. I’ll see if I can persuade him to fix adobo, that’s the BESTest!
We can also bring a variety of diet soft drinks. And a big thermos of Louisiana coffee, for the coffee drinkers amongst us.
Are there directions from I-70? Since we’re coming from Annapolis, we can avoid all the major metropolitan areas and just pick up I-70 west of Baltimore. But I’m not sure where that would fit in your various sets of directions.
Duh, so she did.
I was just going to pick up one of those “picnic packs” with one bottle each of mustard, ketchup and relish.
Ben, if you want to, you can pick up salt and pepper. You should be able to find those disposable shakers.
Robin
Usually I bring rolls and condiments with the burgers and dogs. You guys are making my job easy this year! Thanks!
Scuba_Ben, are you still bringing the Hebrew National dogs?
You might want to make sure it’s reheatable on a grill. I don’t think the pavilions have electricity. dances should know, though. He notices things like that.
Kein.
I’ll see what I can find for single use salt and pepper.
They do. I brought something in a Crock Pot last year. dwc also usually brings his chili in a Crock Pot.
EtherealFreakOfPinkness just reminded me it’s been a long time since I’ve made Crock Pot brownies (comes out a lot like chocolate lava cake), so in addition to the cheeses, I think I’ll bring some of that, too.
Yes, me! Thank you very much. Check your email.
I still don’t know what I’m bringing. What’s missing from the list? Suggestions welcome.
The weather forecast says sunny and a high of 83, so we should have a nice day.
Looks like we’ll be bringing adobo, so that’ll be the crockpot and the rice cooker. Do we need to bring a power strip, just in case?
Mama Tiger, if memory serves (and sometimes it doesn’t), there are several outlets throughout the pavilion. Still, a power strip wouldn’t be a bad idea. That way, if there are more appliances than outlets, we’ll be okay.
We’re all getting excited about Saturday. mudgirl is counting down (“Only three more sleeps til Gettysdope!”)
Which probably means no mud puddles, much to Mudgirl’s sorrow.
We could always pour a bunch of water on a patch of dirt. We have at least one dog who’ll join mudgirl happily.
Oh, she’d be delighted! But anyone who was paying attention will remember, it was not a mud puddle, it was her pond! (So she kept insisting! )
Then who’s bringing the hose to wash mudgirl and muddog off?
It’s official. No Kimche this year.
I cannot get off. (Well, six weeks off last month seems to have used up my “Hey, can I get a day off?” credits.)
Sorry. Next year I will bring two different kinds of Kimche, I promise. (OK, why does my spell checker want to change Kimche to Chemise, or Cherubim?)
