My guess would be that “our” ghosts say that it’s unpleasant to be walked through, so the store ghosts mostly hang out in unpopulated areas so they don’t have to deal with hundreds and hundreds of people all operating hours every day. This store must have no night crew, or at least one they can manage to avoid. The few we saw in the aisles that met Pete must not have passed their weird initation fight ritual. I really don’t want to be a party pooper / thread shitter because I love this show, however this might be my least favorite ep so far (followed closely by the one where Jay befriends a cult leader). To me it felt like the writers were unavailable so their teenage sons took over. Night of the living dead Walmart style?
Thor having sex with Carol and Nancy? Carol and Nancy having sex? Just felt very incongruent with what we’ve seen before and kind of juvenile. Maybe it’s a one-off.

Hey, the ghosts have very few worldy pleasures available to them-- they can’t eat, can only interact at all with the world in very limited ways, in only a few cases. Why not constantly have sex with each other, in various ways and combos? No worries about STDs or pregnancy.
For the make ghosts specifically one wonders what climax is like. Does they immediately reverse climax afterwards? Do they still need a refractory period? . Yep, my mind went there.

Did anyone else start to think they were setting up a spinoff show for Pete? It looked like Chris the stripper was going to be the new ghost, then I thought the Protestant dirt ghost was going to join the group. A lot of plot indeed.
I don’t know the timing of particular cast members needing to negotiate new contracts, but the plot developments in question lead me to suspect that the showrunners were providing themselves with some smooth ways of writing certain actors out.
(Maybe I’m overly suspicious!)

He was trapped with Sassapie in the well a few hundred years ago with Patience, the Puritan ghost. They were all holding hands to stick together underground (while walking out of the well), but Isaac dropped Patience’s hand (he had to sneeze?), and Patience was lost underground for 200 years.

Aside from the actors playing Sam and Jay, they’ve always had a smooth way of writing out actors; have the character be sucked off.
I think that’s definitely the case. I hope the writers have contingency plans for all possible departures.
