Ghosts (US Version): Who Got Sucked Off In Season 2 Cliffhanger (open spoilers for US and UK even in the OP)

I wondered about that. My guess is that some of them died before DealMart opened, perhaps while other buildings were on the site.

I know! I know! I did it anyway! I’m thinking and I need to just relax.

I was kind of wondering how the “ghost boundary” works if the property is smaller than when they died, like if part of the land on which Woodstone Manor or Button House stood was subdivided.

Is it really necessary to make a wisecrack about this thread title? :smiling_imp:

Well gosh, I never noticed that phrase could be some sort of double entendre before now.

Darren_Garrison → :innocent:

I was too. There was no house there really when Thor died. Or Sas. Or maybe there were buildings but not a clear “this is the property line as it will be understood centuries later”. Like if it were me, I’d ask the neighbors to buy a couple feet of my land for a day and buy a couple feet of theirs for a day (they’d already think I am weird if I’m Sam) and conduct experiments. Like is the Higher Power checking in the registry of deeds?

Speaking of experiments, I know Pete is … not curious … but I can’t believe for 40 years he didn’t try to stick his hand through the barrier just to see how it felt, to test the boundaries to see how far they extend. I wouldn’t necessarily trust the assessments of my fellow ghosts if I were him… besides maybe Sas.

Well, Carol sure gets around. Is it just me or was Flower unusually with it this episode?

It would make relative sense if the ghost boundry was just X distance from where one died, but that’s not the case since everyone except Pete has the same boundary. Then you have poltergeists and vehicle ghosts; the latter implications are really horrific. Just think of people who died on the Titanic. :astonished::passenger_ship:

Eventually that car is going to the junk yard… - what would happen if it were broken up and sold for parts - which part sets her boundry?

BTW, I was slightly annoyed that Sam didn’t accompany Jay on his trip out with Pete, or later when Pete dropped Pete off at the airport. Had she done so, Jay wouldn’t have left DealMart without him.

This raises an interesting point… in the dark underground, would a ghost realize they were portaled back behind the barrier? Maybe they’re walking forever forward and constantly walking the same 10ft of ground as they go through the barrier again and again.

That would be the most boring episode ever. DealMart after lights-out sounds like it would make a great movie.

They reappear facing the opposite direction.

Maybe Puritan Girl just prefers to live alone in the dirt. She did spend a year in a hole with stinky Isaac.

As with walls and floors, probably best not to overthink it.

When Issac tried it after Pete he was thrown violently backward.

Not in the episode I watched - or in any of the other examples in the series - Isaac walked to/thru the barrier and was basically turned around and came out the barrier at the same pace as going in.

Hetty’s example was a little more ‘violent’ - but only because she was heading out in a moving horseless carriage.

Pete’s going to learn that his boundary is the USA’s airspace. He’s going to fall out of the plane somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean near Key West.

A quick check of my DVR shows that I drastically misremembered this scene. You are right and I think I conflated something from a Star Trek force field scene into Ghosts.

But why did they only come out at might?
