No, seriously! I’m sorry but I think women just look so much more attractive with glasses on. Maybe it makes them seem more intelligent. Maybe it accentuates the most expresive area of a woman’s face. Maybe there is no reason, it just makes them look beautiful. I haven’t yet pinpointed a reason, all I know is how I feel.
Oh yeah. Being a spectacle wearing geek myself, I appreciate the spectacle wearing geek of the opposite sex just fiiiiine. Indeedly.
Just this evening, on the train home, there was this wonderfully cute young lady, wearing glasses and a business suit, with legs that were just… wow! And her hair was so… yes! And her eyes so adorably… yum!
You would have loved my college girlfeiend… 5 foot, black hair, small breasts, glasses and INCREDIBLE blue eyes. Plus, of course, “studious, intelligent, cute, etc.”
Wholeheartedly agree with the OP. Something awful sexy 'bout a pair of fasionable specs on a gorgeous women. The beauty is somehow accentuated. I’ve always had this fantasy about being in a library and suddenly… Oops, sorry, I thought for a minute that this was the Penthouse letters message board.

The longer I’m around here the more I feel like I am among friends.
I have little to add here except that I adore women who wear glasses…in fact (thinking back through dating history) I don’t think I’ve ever dated, or even asked out, a woman who didn’t wear glasses.
Not that I wouldn’t ask out a spectacle-less woman, mind, just that I haven’t so far.
either way. Glasses, no glasses. Is she cute with them? without them? That’s what matters I suppose (sure it sound superficial, but who’s ever seen a dawg and went “Hey, I could have a great life with him/her” before knowing them)
When I first met him I only wore my glasses when absolutely necessary. The rest of the time I just walked around not seeing very well. He kept telling me how nice my glasses looked on me and encouraging me to wear them more. I am not sure if he just got tired of seeing me squint or if he really thought they looked good on me. Whichever it was it worked. I wear my glasses all the time now and I can see! And I think I look stunning.
If so many men like women in glasses why do the “pretty” girls in movies never wear them? The first think that they do in a movie when they want to make over the geeky girl is take off her glasses. Sandra Bullock with glasses on is so ugly no man would ever want her, take the glasses off and she has men tripping over her. I just don’t get it.
Ditto. Really, it’s more about what’s inside. (Biting my tongue so I don’t spoil the real sentiment with the obvious joke.)
A guess: In the movies, the women who wear glasses are a little shy and vulnerable. The he-man shows her she has no reason to be self-conscious about her looks. A bit chavinistic, I think. But it’s nice to make people feel good about themselves.
BTW: I do wear glasses, but I only need to wear them when I fly. (Actually, I could get a class 3 medical certificate and I wouldn’t need to. But I want to get a commercial license and that requires a class 2 medical.)
Sandra Bullock isn’t very pretty and I’ll be damned if I know why anyone thinks she’s a sex symbol,
I would suspect, absent a controlled test, that the same pair of glasses on the same person would look much better in real life than on film, and
Coming out from behind the glasses is a symbol not for getting prettier, but for emerging from behind a wall. When a character in the movies takes her glasses off, that means, more than anything else, that they’re gaining self-confidence and stepping forward to take charge. Part of the “Pygmalion” paradigm is that the person being changed grows beyond the control of the Pygmalion.
Nacho, the reason I like girls in glasses (and believe me, I do), is because deep down, I’m hoping that she’ll look up, let her hair down and reveal her cute, studious self to be a ravishingly hot sexpot who wants me to be her boy toy.
They wear studious looking clothes, I dig the catholic school-girl look (obviously not on catholic school girls though, THAT’s ILLEGAL! :P). I also dig the black frames, pony tails, or pig tails, but then again, a pretty girl in any major “themed” outfit will probably look sexy to me. As a reference, see the movie Bedazzled with a focus on Elizabeth Hurly for all of the popular theme’s (police officer, etc.). Or for a good school girl look, Selma Hayek in Dogma (when she was dancing) was pretty damn sexy.
My fiancee just got glasses after years of arguing that they would make her look funny. She looks adorable in them! Sometimes she puts them on with a schoolgirl outfit and we… ummmm nevermind. It’s a whole other thread
