He may have been the best non-Dukie ever. (Hill, Battier, Laettner. All four year players.) His block on Walton is legendary. Such a beautiful game. A real shame his pro game left the rails.
Maybe only half-vast?
Na Na Na Na … Hey Hey Hey …
Stuff your motherfucking “Tar Heel born…” song up your asses, my dear baby blue friends.
What I wouldn’t do to be able to go out on Franklin Street for a drink right now.
Oh, hell no. The depression is waaay past entertainment, it’s downright scary. Especially after four or five pitchers of kamikazes at Bub’s.
Tomorrow night is the time to drink on Franklin Street. Trust me.
-andros, who, although he lived in the Zoo and married one of them and actually only attended Guilford and (eeesh) State, continues to bleed Duke Blue-
I knew the guy who opened Bub O’Malley’s. Sam. He was a sweet, if doomed, guy.
.
Yanno, I don’t think I ever met him. Although I never spent much time there.
In other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead. And Carolina can still go to Hell.
.
Actually, it’s amazing what creative things one can do with the most unlikely of source material, if one puts one’s mind to it. Ever wonder, for example, what would happen if Buffy and her friends ran into the X-Men and Superman?
I had no idea Duke founded a university at some point*. So that would make Duke University, what, twenty or thirty years old?

- In the US, that is. I guess his experience with Baby Doc U in Haiti must’ve warmed him to the idea.
I don’t know what your family reunions are like, but we don’t do that sort of thing around here.
Here’s an image from the game indicating the intensity of feeling it generates.
It helps if you have a clue who your mother is.
(Ya’ll realize that this is just woofin’ right?)
Wait wait wait.
When did State get brought into this here conversation?
Well I’m late to the party but I, too, would like to invite our Tarheel friends to go to hell.
::checks the chart::
6th Circle sounds about right.
spoke-, it looks as though we have to look to other schools to provide our basketball fix for us. After hearing about Humphrey today, I’m about to give up on UGA’s season.
Of course, growing up with season tickets to Duke basketball in the 80’s and 90’s provides one with a nice foundation for distraction this time of year.
Well, I was a Duke undergrad, you see. UGA came later. (And I was raised on 'Dawgs football the way you were raised on Duke basketball.)
Works out really nicely, as I can flip allegiances depending on which sport is in season.
And I still have high (but perhaps vain) hopes for UGA’s basketball future. I like Felton as a coach, and he has some good players coming in. (Now if he can only keep them out of trouble and in school.)
Hey, she’s kinda cute.
Must have been photoshopped.
Your mother knows who I am, at any rate.
(I am unfamiliar with that bit of vernacular. Allow me to consult the Urban Dictionary… Ah, I see. ahem Fo’ shizzle, beezy.)
