Goblins webcomic discussion

Woo! I is the man! I saw something coming 1 whole strip in advance!

So was that through the heart?

Looks to be through his throat

Neither did Kore!

New one. We don’t get to learn who caught up with the party this time :(, but the adventures of Minmax and Co. are nice.

You know, I think I’m gonna swipe that monster if and when I ever get back to DMing.

Seriously. I don’t think I know a single player who wouldn’t fall for that.

Time will tell, and perhaps thunt is working on a clever head fake, but I’m convinced that it’s MinMax. He’s the only one who has ever called Complains of Names just ‘Names,’ and he and Forgath are on a quest with Kin to find the teleporting teapot. They had already agreed to help Kin find it and then use it to transport themselves directly to the goblins.

It seems to me that we followed the goblins through their fight with Kore right up to a perilous and mysterious moment, then jumped back to follow MinMax, Forgath, and Kin through their own adventures until they meet up with the goblins.

We’ll see how it all comes together.

I like your hypothesis and believe you have nailed it.

Whats the chances that Forgath will be high enough a level to raise Chief by the time they meet up again?

Farewell K’seliss!

no prizes for guessing what Kin’s about to do!

Hope it works out better than what she had hoped for Minmax to do…

Does it occur to anyone else that this dungeon would be a perfect opportunity to test Kin’s collar? If the explosive curse was a bluff, then great, they don’t have anything to worry about. And if it really would level a mountain, well, then, no harm done, they’ll just reset to before it was triggered. Of course, they wouldn’t want to test it every time through the dungeon, since then they’d be guaranteed to never make it through in the event that the curse was real, but if it looks like an otherwise-hopeless situation, there’s nothing to lose.

The problem is, the only way that works is if the collar is a bluff. If it’s not a bluff, they all die, and reset with no memory of their previous attempt. And if it is a bluff, but they die because of some other reason, they won’t remember that it’s a bluff. Or that they’d even thought to test it. It’s really no better a test situation than being outside the dungeon, in terms of getting concrete information about the collar.

Which is no loss, if they were about to die anyway. Or they could do something like roll a d100 at the start of every attempt, and if it comes up anything but 00, attempt it-- That’d still get them through eventually even if it wasn’t a bluff, but it’d almost guarantee that if it is a bluff, they successfully call it.

Of coure, since the evil Minmax has messed up the dungeon so that it won’t reset any more, trying it this time through is probably not the best idea.

Wait, where did I miss this?

IIRC, it still resets, but Evil Minmax dimension’s trio can remember their past tries, whereas the others still can’t.

Yeah, i mis-remembered. But he is planning on destroying the entire dungeon, so it would still be a bad time to try taking off the collar.

New strip up! “But before I kill you…”
