Fine by me. My tea stash is Earl Grey side by side with Irish Breakfast. In my household whiskey has been shouldered aside by dark rum, but, heh, that’s made with sugar cane, also a prized southern crop. Sugar’s rightful place goes in to making distilled spirits, not ruining perfectly good tea.
I gladly take chili any way. I can get it: beans, all beans, no beans, on hotdogs, over spaghetti.
Southern Merrylande doesn’t qualify as “the south”, nor do I. There is nothing belle-like about me. Plus my family wasn’t even in this country during that particular unpleasantness, so there’s that, too.
Roxy is abed and I’ve turned off the kid-centric videos - yay! The dishwasher is washing and the ice maker is making. I’ll probably mosey back to bed in half an hour or so. I want to get some yard work done tomorrow before the rain from Delta moves in, and it’s critter fountain cleaning weekend. I think I’ll also change the sheets before FCD gets home. I expect he’ll appreciate fresh bedding.
I just hope the kid sleeps in. She’s notorious for crawling into bed with her folks around 4 of the AM…
since I was denied almost any sugar in almost any form as a child … unless its water or something sweetened naturally I never drink or really eat anything not sweetened
However, I do draw a line when its " I like a little tea with my sugar" types of deals …
…just a q on the bike saga flyboy … it wasn’t insured against theft? cause my dad’s bike is insured even if there’s no damage and he gets it back …
Did a HT and Aldi run. Making Doritos crusted cod with Spanish rice and Tex Mex creamed corn. Watching curling on Facebook(CurlingZone, if you are interested, eh?) in honor of Canadian Thanksgiving.
Indeed.
: heaves 40lbs. box of dog food into Top White and grumbles:
FCM has the perfect campaign slogan–Vote for Me, because I’m Nice, Dammit!! But like her and William Tecumseh, I wouldn’t be head of any country foolish enough to elect me…
On the sweet tea question, I was raised with unsweetened iced tea in the summer, to which we added sugar and lemon as needed; I was a quick convert to sweet tea when I moved south and the only hot tea I drank was a heavily sweetened ‘chai’ in the United Arab Emirates.
nellie, hope the doc’s prescriptions work out for you. And I do feel better, just the morning blurfs I guess.
Sunny, I don’t eat chili either…thought I was the only one…
Butters, interesting place.
OW, happy roller-coasting tomorrow. Get lots of air time.
And a good evening to all, Big Bowl O’Sallit has been assimilated and readin’ and internettin’ at Tv-in’ are on the agenda.
Howdy Y’all! Been a pleasant day here at da cave. I did go through the file cabinet and sort stuff. Among other things, I found all the manuals for all the original appliances, all of which are long gone. Anywho, the file cabinet is now all orderly and neat. We noshed upon various things in da fridge for sup. Ok, we weren’t in the fridge when we noshed, we took stuff out first. Even heated up stuff that needed heatin’ up.
MOOOOOOM For President! Make America Use Coasters Again! Shape Up Or Go On THE LIST!
It rained on and off all day, cancelling any outdoor activity. Groceries are bought and the cheap Chinese down the street cooked supper. Time to kick back and do some more binge watching and play in the studio.
Just got an email that someone bought my Bolex-Paillard underwater housing w/Bolex H16 camera – for the Buy It Now price. I offered a second camera for BIN. I’ll have to remember to ship both.
I picked up the Rx, but I’m torn: do I use it now so I stop itching, or wait until morning so I get at least some sleep? 60 mg. will definitely keep me up all night. Rock, meet Hard Place.
Who could resist a Moooom/Swampy ticket? I can see the bumper stickers now: “Proud to be Swampified.”
How do you know they’re cheap? Maybe they’re just libertines.
Went out for dinner tonight – and not for Mexican food, for a change.
I had a Cobb salad and a couple of Manhattans. Mrs. L.A. had a house salad and a bowl of clam chowder and a couple of Manhattans. I’m making Manhattans at home, but with Maker’s Mark since that’s what we have.
Believe me, they’re cheap. They have the standard GFS Chinese takeout menu, but at ~80% the price. There are some differences in quality, but it’s not inedible. Tonight’s supper was a quart of house special soup (veggies, pork, chicken and shrimp in a light broth), a shrimp spring roll and an order of crab rangoon for $11. That’s competitive with fast food with some vegetation in the mix.
Irk was reasonably decent. Plus, they were having a two-hour sale for 30% off first thing this morning, and after some deliberations, mgmt. decided that employees could take advantage of same at the end of our shift, too.
Standard employee discount is 20% so when this was announced, all. work. stopped. as everyone promptly shopped for themselves!
Data for today: 7.2 miles / 18,000 steps (this felt like a normal, average day).
Gonna fix a grilled cheese sandwich and scrambled eggs in a sec … or crap out and drive to Taco Bell in my bathrobe. You think I’m kidding.
Arrrrrgh! The itching is driving me mad, mad, I tell you! Whoever created itching should be serving life-to-eternity in Hell. I like to think “Feelings” and “The Night Chicago Died” play on an endless loop.
I have had two liquid itch-killers, plus the meds I had on hand, and still I’m miserable. Stupid lupus.
I don’t think there’s much going on around here. I can’t decide if I want to make a turkey tit, or shrimp and vegetables, for dinner, this afternoon. Decisions. I’m TRYING to get back on track, and lose a bit of weight. Ok…A LOT of weight. FML. I’ll be better off, if I do, that’s for sure. I’m already showing much improvement with my diabetes. Still…FML. I’m having a mood this morning, and it’s not a good one.
I’ve already dosed Shayna with her crazy pills, and Activia. At least that’s done. She’s easy, though. She loves it, so, that works out just fine.
I need to do laundry, later. I wonder if I can sneak in a nap. We’ll see. I’ll put that on my boring agenda.
FCD stopped in GA for breakfast since it’s raining stupid hard around Brunswick at the moment. Roxy is having pineapple while watching Gigantosaurus on Netflix. I’m having toast, worrying about my sweetie.
It’s just starting to get light here and it looks overcast - it’s supposed to stay that way all day. rah. Still hope I can get some work done outside.
