Googling your username

I get “about 167,000,000” results when I Google my username. Feel free to check if any of them are me.

I’m asked if I meant “eleanor rigby” and all the entries are for that (more) famous lady. But apparently there is an Eleanorigby on some other bb (topix?) who just had a grandchild–that’s not me, folks!

Weird.

I get profiles for LiveJournal, Last.fm, YouTube, OKCupid, DeviantART, Fathom (though I’ve never posted there), and The W; a LiveJournal MindMap; and some sort of stupid fantasy fanfic where my username’s apparently the name of a snowy country.

It used to be nothing but me when I searched an am more annoyed by the intrusion of the false Aesiron than I probably should be.

Well, you learn something every day…

Googling Ruby get about a zillion irrelevent hits on (surprisingly first) Ruby the programming language and Ruby the gemstone.

Googling Ruby Straight Dope finds a few threads, none of which are mine. :frowning:

Googling Rubena, Esperanto for Ruby and another username I’ve used on teh internets, I find that it’s a [Hebrew girl’s name](http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/RubenaRubena - Name Meaning and Origin) meaning “see, a son”. Either I don’t understand Hebrew or the Jews don’t understand gender.

My nickname is way too common. I get 500 000+ hits googling it. I occasionally searched for other people using the same nickname. It was sometimes interesting, like a Swedish photographer or a Saudi girl living in Lebanon who eventually came to a school situated two blocks away from my place.

17,000,000 results.

I’m sure one or two relate to me.

Nothing but vegetables, all the way down.

Mine just brings up trillions upon trillions of pages about the color model. The wiki entry is at the top. Adding ‘Straight Dope’ doesn’t do shit either, it looks like.

You are one limber dude.

One hit on my username was from threadspotting. Almost all the other hits are me on other boards. I’m apparently a minor species of pine tree as well.

*** Ponder

“Krokodil” is a pretty popular nickname, especially in Russia and Germany, but one of my comic strip sites actually turns up on the first page of the Google search.

It’s all me except for the cat breeders.
Weirdly, googling my real name brings up dog breeders.

sugar and spice is also the name of a comedy group I knew well and a song by a local band I don’t know at all.

Was I really that into House? :smack:

Brings up loads of Skid Row pages.

Lots of hits, only two of which are me. Two empty profiles I never bothered filling out.

With a username like mine I got at least 131000000 hits. No point in looking through them. But the first page started off with some businesses and school names, plus one mountain.

Googling my user name only turns up the occurrences of me using it. For some reason Goodreads seems to assume that I’m a man.

If I google my name, the first hit is some Douche bag misogynist’s thoughts on Dating and sex. It doesn’t help that it’s Roosh V, and V is the first letter of my last name. That’s just not cool :frowning:
I had no idea.

And then apparently there are now Urban Dictionary terms for my name as well. Again all new to me. As my name is just my nickname I’ve had since I was a kid…

The first result for my name is my profile on the off-site Mafia board too.

However, the fifth result is a link to a “Racist Horoscope” on a white supremacist message board.

:frowning:

None of my Straight Dope posts show up. Guess I have to get posting more.

Well… what’s your horoscope for today?

My birthday party will be ruined once again by my explosive flatulence.
