Gooling your username

Criminey, and I was gonna ask how to go about “gooling” my username!

BTW, if you want to search message boards, you might be better off going to Boardreader and searching there.

My handle in Google: 8,720,000 hits. I’m everywhere, dammit!

628 hits for mine. Interesting, as I ran 3 words together with no spaces, that I still found so many, including quite a few pertaining to the Weezer song that I named myself after. (Even one in french!)

Other than an ad for a yacht company and some link to a celtic group, all the other listings appear to refer to Weezer. Oh, and two to me.

I’m surprised you didn’t get any links to lyric sites for “Into the West,” as that’s what comes to mind when I see your username.

Myself, if I spell my username this way, I only get 39 hits, two of which are mentions of me here, and a couple of poorly spelled LOTR “groups.” I also get some loverly pictures of that scene from FOTR.

Spelling it correctly, I get a query about separating it into two words…which I do, and get 965 hits. All info on the ferry in the Shire.

Spelling it this way, I get links to Merry talking about me! Here! (Sixth sound down.)

I get 257 hits, with the vast majority having to do with some stupid song about noah’s ark…not my inspiration for the name.
::sigh::

I wanted to have some hot porn associated with my nick…

Nothing, which surprised me - surely I’m not the only one to think of this pun? Still, at least it makes me feel unique.

12,000 hits for me. Most of them explaining horseflesh as a food, and a couple of tasty recipes out there. I must inisist, though, that I am best consumed live and wr-r-r-riggling, with a side dish of fresh fish.

Surprisingly, hit #8 is actually me! It links to my profile at teemingmillions.com. I found a few other Horseflesh’s (wannabe’s, at best) at other message boards, a band named Ship & Anchor wrote a song called “Curse of Horseflesh”, and it’s not until the far-flung hit of #48 that a reference to the origin of my screen name is found. Apparently I have some fanfic!

I get a mention of my “Threadspotting” thread in the archives of the 'Dope.

OK, so for curiosity’s sake I tried it. On just the first page I got:

  • the jamrock band
  • the Ministry of Education, Singapore
  • Moe’s Books
  • Molecular Operating Environment
  • Moe’s Alley Blues Club
  • Ministry of Education, China
  • Ministry of Environment
  • The Peeping Moe
  • Someone named Stephen’s weblog

[World Domination Voice at Moe Headquarters] Today we rule the internet; Tomorrow THE WORLD!!! ::wild applause:: [/wdv]

274 mostly having to do with the historical Dangerosa (a lot of geneology). the dangerosa at Blogspot is not me.

I remember that song!

God said to Noah, “There’s gonna be a floody floody”!

A few links, mostly me, with two exceptions:

A woman with a genealogy page.
A German lesbian looking for love on a dating site.

There’s some real reverends out there named Tim who share my username. I’m technically ordained via the ULC, but I profess no faith and sometimes feel a bit guilty for taking the name. But the feeling quickly passes.

I am thoroughly unique. Every one of the hundred and some hits on “antaresjb” is me, as is every picture that shows up in the image search. Most of the 100-some hits are pages from my old website that hasn’t been updated in forever and had frames and a whole bunch of poetry on it, hence the lots of separate pages. The rest are generally other pages of mine or profiles of mine on online dating sites. But all me. Considering I’ve been using this same username for pretty much EVERYTHING for the past… oh, I’d say 6 or 7 years, it’s not too surprising.

4,180 hits, and you’d be clickin’ for hours through the search results to find me. I may be there, but there’s no promises. But for the other name I use on the EzBoard system, Tanufalla Night, all three hits are to do with me.

I’m right at the top of page 8. Right above “International Starch Market Place for Sellers”. That’s what I call fame.

Three mentions that come from my NaNoWriMo participation, and 15 random moments where someone said “Look! Ninjas!” or “Look… ninjas” or some variation thereof.

That’s with quotation marks. Without, I just get lots and lots of pages about ninjas.

I was afraid to look. But I found several which were not simply porn sites. Amazing. The world may actually be coming around!

3 links! One at Opalcat’s fathom forums, and the rest are links to the “teeming millions” page that has my contribution to the LOTR monster thread:

“The slashdot effect: LotR’s version”

The context was that Slashdot.org posted a link to that LOTR monster thread and it became a virtual DOS (“denial of service”) attack, shutting down the SDMB server for hours. That is the effect referred, or “slashdotted”:

27,200,000 websites about Blondes…beat that!
