Shoes?

Music sites, okay, but shoes?? I didn’t know.

And then after a couple pages you start finding sites about some guy named doctor guy named Faust . . .

But really, now, shoes?

OK, I had to cheat. A google search for “Ringo” turns up endless numbers of sights related to some aging Brit rocker (or mocker), but even without him there’s still a lot of Ringos out there.

So a google search disqualifying both “Starr” and “John” (there’s a writer out there by that name) and demanding the inclusion of “Straight Dope Message Board” turned up three hits:

1.) A post on his own page by Psieker describing a long-ago Dopefest;

2.) An entry on a search engine I’ve never heard of for searches for the “bbq boonies homepage” that included a link (that doesn’t work) to a thread I started years ago;

3.) Max Carnage’s page of Doper photos.

My periodic vanity searches always have a few doppelgangers in there, since “Larry Mudd” isn’t that unusual as a real name.

The Larry Mudd that’s Worship Minister at the Manhatten Church of Christ had quite an edge over me for a while immediately after 9/11.

There was a big-haired evangelist/missionary type fellow that liked to post pictures of his big-haired, trollish looking family all over the web. He seems to have dropped off the face of the earth, though.

There’s a Larry Mudd that’s an organizer for motorcycle club called “Women on Wheels” (WOW.) Probably pretty fun.

This Larry Mudd’s regrettable taste in decor has been ranking higher and higher for the last year. I think he’s the replacement for Big Hair Mudd.

Slightly OT, I just came across a reference to one of my f*d up tape projects being played on the Howard Stern show a few years ago. And here I had thought the most exposure I ever got was a 2:00am bit on CBC’s Nightlines. I’m not sure if I should be pleased or annoyed.

Hm. 2,100,000. Lots of Maureen O’Hara, O’Sullivan, and this WONDERFUL one for
Mad Maureen…plus a few for Maureen Johnson Long, the Heinlien heroine I always wanted to be.

Searching for my username straight out brings up but one result: http://www.pirate969.org/docs/playlist.asp. That appears to be a listing of all the songs some radio station played on a random day.

Searching for my name within quotes brings up absolutely nothing. I like that; it looks like an accomplishment.

Well… No surprises… Stuff about frogs and Frenchies…

Some funny stuff though :

5 hits for mine, all SDMB related.

No way to sort out 7,900 hits - intresting though:

Lots of references to Douglas Adams, nothing about me though. ::sniff sniff::

I found:

  • A few sites about dogs named Rinni
  • A few random people whose names were Rinni (either as a first or a last name)
  • A link (on the third page) that was a drawing, that said “A simple picture of Rinni for Rinni” - that actually WAS for me, a friend online drew me.
  • Lots of sites in other languages
  • Lots of Sailor Moon sites, because people misspell Rini all the time
  • a makeupalley.com review I did of a lipgloss
  • links to people’s livejournal userinfos, who have me friended (my username there is also rinni, though it did not manage to come up with my OWN livejournal!)
  • Eyepieces
  • 15000 DOG NAMES!
  • A link to an indiewire.com bio that isn’t me.
  • sites referring to Rinoa Heartilly as Rinni
  • on page 17, a mention of me working at Wal-Mart and a comment I posted on a website
  • Coupla ezboard posts of mine (rinni roo)
  • Someone using the nick PiMpEtTe RiNnI
  • A link to a quizilla quiz I made

Gosh, there are so many pages. However, I started looking, and now I cannot stop until I see all. Boo! This is my nature. I will spare you the details, however.

It’s been educational.

Mostly what I get is someone who writes a lot of Star Trek fan-fiction. I am not that DangerMom.

The first six hits (out of 60) are me posting on MB’s … the rest of them seem to be LOTR related about Lobelia or Overhill

Well, with the numbers, it’s all me (all three hits).

Without, I get lots of sites in unfamiliar languages, other people’s kids, and other people with the same username. And according to dictionary.com, it’s a word in Old French.

But I rhyme mine with “atari” - not “savory.”

So far:
-17 dwalins, some of them moderators
-3 Dwalin dog societies
-18 billion sites about the character (duh)
-10 stories
-1 program
-3 people who are nicknamed ‘dwalin’
-15 dogs whose names include Dwalin
-A Chilean music site???
-21 D&d or D&D knockoff characters

Most of these sites are in other languages, mostly German, Russian, Spanish, and French. I’m just over a quarter of the way through, but I don’t think I’m going to find myself. Or bother finishing, for that matter.

20 hits; all me. Mostly uninteresting posts I made in the Japanese forums I frequent plus one about cooking brown rice I made years ago and still get emal questions about…

17,200 hits, most of which are by/about/in reference to me. There is one, though, that goes to a page at tile.net where you can sign up for a mailing list about opal cataloging.

2,160,000 hits!
(but the majority were Mostly Harmless" )

76,000 hits, but that’s not surprising as Amarone is a type of wine.
