I missed the Grammys on TV.
IIRC, the Gorillaz were nominated for Record of the Year, along with three or four other artists. The announcer generally says “the nominees are…” before going through the list, the camera shooting the artist(s) as their music is played in the background.
Was the Gorillaz seen live, or were they animated cartoons?

I didn’t see the Grammys entirely either, but Gorillaz seen live isn’t as ridiculous as it sounds…
When they said their name, they showed some guy sitting in the audience. Uncaptioned, so I don’t know who it was. Not a cartoon. Might have been the producer, since they are also nominated for that award.
I thought it was awesome. But then I did see that video jay linked to a while ago, so I was expecting it.
If they showed a real person, chances are it was Damon Albarn.
And I missed it, too. Damn. I like me some Damon.
