I am so angry right now. My boyfriend had just gone to the store and on the way back the guy who robbed my house a few years ago (went to prison for a couple years for it) saw him coming to my house and asked him if he could apologize to me. The BF came in and asked me and I said hell no, tell him to leave and never come on my property again. The bastard broke into my house and stole two rings that belonged to each of my grandmothers and traded them for crack. An apology won’t make up for betraying my trust*, the loss of sentimental items and the fear and insecurity I felt after being robbed.
*He was a neighborhood guy that I thought I was helping out by paying him to mow my lawn and do some yardwork and I always gave him a tip. Bastard was just casing my house. He also robbed several other people in the neighborhood.
It’s kind of surprising how big a difference portion control makes, tarra. It’s perfectly logical, but when you do the math on how much less you’re actually eating, you can go :eek: very quickly.
Sounds like it wouldn’t be completely horrible, swampy. And, who knows…maybe you would make new contacts through the job that would lead to a better full-time opportunity…
I’m also looking forward to the weekend. Got to stop over at church after work today to take a look at a tree that’s blocking a new sign. It’s going to take way more cutting than I could do tonight to give people a clear view of the sign (I’m not sure what they were thinking…), so I’m going to talk to the maintenance guy and make sure he really really wants me to whack it back as much as it’s going to take.

In exciting job-related news, they are redoing computer autorizations. Right now, nobody in my team is authorized to work. I’d propose going out for some midmorning tapas, but the gates track who leaves so I don’t think the proposal would be accepted.

I am glad it’s Friday, I am so tired this week from all the disturbed and sleepless nights I’ve had. This whole office move thing is really preying on my mind and that is not a good thing.

Two of my friends are having birthday drinks tomorrow night so we will be heading into town to the Old Joint Stock for food and beerverages. Well, I will be on diet coke all night but the beerverages are still tempting!
My fish died last night. I cleaned his bowl yesterday evening, but he didn’t make it. And I’m NOT getting another one. It’s silly to get so emotionally invested in a fish. So, I think after I get his bowl cleaned out I’m going to list it on Craigslist. It’s a nifty little bowl that doubles as a desk lamp. Also, that way I won’t be tempted to run out and buy a replacement for him.
I had Chinese for dinner last night and ordered way too much food. Is it wrong to have leftovers for breakfast? (Yes, swampy, I swiped the General’s dinner!)

Morning all! I’m caffeinating ,eating doughnuts, and doing the Booster Club minutes. One of my Firefox tabs is the Web feed from the RBC Center, and they are painting lines on the ice. I never thought I’d be so excited about watching paint dry.

Good morning everyone. I got up at 4:30 and stayed up until five, but then went back to bed until 6:30 and finally got up.
Caffienation is nearly complete.
I have laundry and errands today. Tomorrow is one errand then off to a friend’s house around five-ish to celebrate my husband’s upcoming birthday. I will not be getting any sleep Saturday night/Sunday morning because the airport shuttle is picking me up at 2:30 in the damn morning Sunday.
If it wasn’t for the fact that my friends are throwing this party for my husband, I wouldn’t be going. They didn’t want to do it next weekend, because the one set of friends is leaving for Mauii on Saturday the 18th.
God, I plan to sleep like the dead once I get to my hotel in San Antonio, TX on Sunday.

Work’s going surprisingly well today. We have summer hours at work where we can work an extra hour M-Th and then leave at noon on Firday. (I didn’t do that this year, but I still often had my 40 hours in by ~3 and could leave then.) That option ends after Labor Day so this is the first full-day Firday since May. It’s always the looooooooooooooooongest day of the year. But so far it hasn’t been too painful. We’ll see how we’re feeling by 3 pm though.
Me too. We had a wonderful betta fish, D’artagnan. He was with us for five years. We bought him at Kroger in Louisville, KY. He rode in his little travel tank in the center console of our minivan on the 600 mile move back here. We celebrated his birthday - actually, the day we got him - every November 11th. The kids made us sing to him.
mr ems and I both have toofey cleaning appointments this morning. He is there now and I am headed in about 15 mins. Squeaky clean toofeys
He may be going dove hunting again tonight so supper will be leftovers of some description. I also need to pick up my dry cleaning on the way back from the dentist.
