Grimm Season 2

Yeah, the only one translator thing was stupid, but it got Juliette out of the house to talk to an ethnic wise woman. ::sigh:: At least it wasn’t a gypsy.

Captain Reynard is obsessed with Juliette as a side effect of the drug Adeline’s mom gave him to save her. Juliette seems to have imprinted on Reynard, but as far as the audience knows, neither of them is aware of the other’s emotional state. It’s going to be interesting to see if either finds a cure before the reveal.

I think Juliette is scared of her strange thoughts about the Reynard, rather than scared of the Reynard himself. It would be rather frightening/weird to find yourself obsessed with your boyfriend’s boy with whom you were barely acquainted before getting sick.

Good call!

Hope we find out more about what kind of Wessen he is, etc.

A were-lamprey eel?

Were-remora?

The Grimm Wiki identifies the ersatz Grimm as a Lebensauger - described indeed as a “lamprey-like Wesen” - though I don’t know where the information comes from; I don’t recall them identifying it in the show. Speaking of which, does anybody else get a little bit annoyed when they do that (not identify the Wesen, that is)?

Don’t Nick and Juliette have a guest room? It looks like a good-sized house–surely there should be at least three bedrooms. Why is Nick sleeping on a couch downstairs?

I was all hyped up for another Grimm that would give Nick a real challenge, so I was let down by the reveal that he was just another Wesen, and a whiny one at that. I guess they’ve laid the foundation, though, for bringing a real Grimm–the kind that uses that symbol–in for a future episode if they want.

But other than that, I liked the episode. I always like the beaver guy (glad he’s okay). The scenes with Juliette and the captain are awkward, but in a good way. How far things will go before there’s some kind of fix?

I know Bree Turner was pregnant during the filming of some of this season. I wonder when she’ll be back.

Looks like there’s two more episodes, then a break until sometime after the new year.

I’m upset Wendell (intern Ryan) turned out to be so lame. They dangle this new Grimm and it just turns out to be a MOW. Oh well. The final two episodes look promising. I’m curious to see how the Renard and Juliette issue resolves.

Maybe I missed it, but did we know Renard’s first name before the last episode? He doesn’t seem like a Sean. Also, have we seen his wife? He wears a wedding band, and I don’t remember hearing anything about him being widowed.

Dunno about the ring, but I know Adalind said to the prince, “I know your brother, Sean.” I am pretty sure it was mentioned before that. You’re right though, he doesn’t look like a Sean.

There’s a name plate on the captain’s desk that has his full name on it. I remember noticing it fairly early in the first season. (Also, his cousin calls him Sean at the beginning of “Love Sick,” although a lot of people apparently thought he was saying “Jean.”)

Bree Turner was back on set this last week. I think they’re on episode 13 or 14.

I was a bit disappointed by that. I was hoping the intern was actually another Grimm, and that his frightening appearance was what other Wesen saw when they saw a Grimm. I like the idea of the Grimms being monsters to the other Wesen, and Nick subsequently having to deal with his own monsterdom.

That *is *intriguing, but you’d think Monroe would have mentioned something about it to Nick if that were the case.

Its been talked about in show - barely - Nick stated that his ancestors were unsure how they were spotted by vessen - and Monroe says the Grimm look normal.

Hank came closest to an answer, and felt it deals with how a Grimm reacts when they see a Vessen that allows the Vessen to spot him.

ETA - and if you think about it - nothing is more scary than not knowing who might be the Grimm - which in days past spent thier time killing ALL vessen.

Yeah, that was my point, it would be intriguing, but is not so.

What happened to the girl who runs the potion shop - is Monroe the new owner or something? Is she out of the picture?

That’s Rosalee, played by actress Bree Turner. Turner was pregnant during the filming of this season, so they came up with an excuse in the show for her character to be out of town (visiting a sick relative, I think?). Monroe is just running her shop while she’s gone. According to **Helena **(a few posts back), Rosalee should be back in the last half of the season.

Ah, the old “Sick out of town monster relative needs the wessen pharmacist to come diagnose and create a potion to heal her” meme.

Got it - thanks.

I actually think its her aunt and she’s on her deathbed - but yeah, pretty much.

Now that Monroe knows about Renard and Juliette, that storyline can be moved forward, maybe even put to rest. I want Juliette to end up with Sean, have her join the dark side. It would give Nick angst. I don’t think that is what is going to happen though.

I found Hank investigating his old Death Row case underwhelming. In real life Oregon, the current governor has put a moratorium on executions while he is in office. It felt like they plan to bring back the DA/mayoral candidate character. I wonder if she is wesen.

My dad lives in Forest Grove where the Monster of the Week was living in the end.

Except that the aunt is now recovering :).

Nick’s walk through the prison and seeing about half the inmates were wesen was pretty weird.
