Grimm, Season 3

She’ll probably not ask about the email, will hold a grudge for awhile, then will come to terms with it.

Nick won’t mention it, because, well, he’s a guy.

M is definitely mom. “bheader” (or however it’s spelled) is her email.

Can you please elaborate for those of us who aren’t terribly familiar with Chinatown?

There was also a paraphrase of the Casablanca line, “Let’s gather the unusual suspects.”

In Chinatown, the line is “Forget it, Jake, it’s Chinatown”. In Grimm, the line is “Nobody is, Jake, It’s Portland”.

Oh, thanks.

I really enjoyed the Christmas episode – I thought the Christmas wessen was very clever and appropriate. At first I thought the “let the Wessen Council deal with him” was kind of a cop-out, but it shows a) that Nick’s not just going to start killing people willy-nilly and b) that he’s going to try to start developing a relationship with the Wessen Council, which is kind of a neat idea. (I also love that they’re starting to show Nick writing his own notebook for the Grimm Archive.)

And of course it’s always delightful to see Bud the Beaver.

It seems like the captain’s brother really is dead – but this whole Resistance story line should make for some interesting episodes for the rest of the season, as will Adelind having the baby.

All in all, I’m enjoying this season – am I the only one still watching, or is everyone just not finding much to say? (A month since the last post!!!)

Havent watched last nites double episode yet - simwife and I are both really enjoying this season.

‘aye chihuahua’ indeed.

I have to admit, even though watching it weekly I am seriously waiting to get the whole thing after it ends and they have a special complete DVD set [sort of like I did with Eureka! :p]

I am really enjoying the show, I love the way they use dark versions of fairy tale creatures though I really can’t think of the beavers as dark [one of my favorite wesen races] and I really love the idea of a vegetarian werewolf:p

Decapitore. I kinda like the sound of that.”

I liked the Krampus episode too, carrying away the naughty kids in a sack and leaving a lump of coal behind. Although I’m trying to figure out how a guy from Salt Lake City manages to get coal from the North Pole.

Am I misremembering or was there an episode of “The Office” where Dwight was talking about Krampus?

I liked both episodes last night, but especially the Krampus one. The Monroe/Rosalee side story was nice, even if it seemed like filler. I was pleasantly surprised to see the beaver guy show up again.

I agree that it’s cool that they’re showing Nick write his own journal entries. I think they started that a couple of episodes ago.

I’m really enjoying the fact that Nick isn’t having to continue to hide the whole Grimm thing from Hank and Juliette, and that they are both now part of his “team” along with Monroe, Rosalee, and Renard. Now I’m wondering if Sargeant Wu will ever find out.

Yeah I the that sounded a little ominous. Nick is starting to get a bit TOO comfortable with the family business. Although it was ironic that Hank was the one who wanted him to kill Krampus in cold blood in the second episode.

It sounds a bit like Wu is starting to go a little bonkers.

Sorry for quoting myself but it appears that it was Belsnickel, not Krampus, that was in that episode of the Office. From Wikipedia:

He did it in season one (at the beginning of “Cat and Mouse”), but they had a long stretch without showing any.

You know, it seems kind of odd to me that Monroe, for someone who gets into Christmas decorations as wholeheartedly as he does, appears to get around to the actual process of putting up the decorations so late in the season. Unless I missed a fairly big passage of time, the whole episode takes place right around the winster solstice, right? I would have pegged Monroe as the kind of guy who is breaking out the tinsel and the Christmas tree approximately five minutes after Thanksgiving dinner is finished.

Is anyone actually able to even HEAR some of the German words? Even with closed captioning I can’t make them out. I can get Wessen and Wogl(? - can’t remember the spelling) but once it goes over 2 syllables, I feel like a cat listening to humans endlessly yammering on.

We yelled at the screen last week when Monroe and Rosalee we’re ‘explaining’ wessen inheritence.

Its cute/funny at first - then it gets annoying.

Loved the 2 hour episode -

Courtesy hulu subtitles and some German-speaking friends:

“Unless the Kehrseite is a Kehrseite-Gentrager. Then you’re definitely getting a Wesen.”

“You mean like a Grundverschiedene situation like us?”

“Well, then you’re looking at a Vorherrscher.”

“Gentrager” apparently means “gene carrier.” (I think there’s an umlaut in there.) “Grundverschiedene” means “totally different.” “Vorherrscher” seems to have something to do with dominating, which they didn’t explain but might mean that in a mixed couple one parent’s genome will be dominant. I expect it’ll come up later!

Oh shit, you’re saying it’s going to be on the exam?!?!?!?!
