Grimm, Season 3

Well, it looks like she may become a recurring character, now that she and Juliette have reconciled.

Although both stories were about coming to terms with wesenality (bonus points to anyone who recognizes the '70s era cooking oil ad reference), I thought it was a bit much that everyone any of Nick’s pals encounter is now secretly a wesen. I mean, c’mon.

This confused me, partly because of how the episode was promo’ed - it was made to seem that the episode was going to be about a Wesen street gang. But the only people we see from the Wesen gang are the guy and his girlfriend who get stomped at the beginning by the rival gang. So I was expecting the rival gang to also be Wesen, but it turns out they’re just a normal gang.

that’s why I don’t pay attention to promos.

I giveth not a damn about the Wesen Of The Week[sup]tm[/sup] nor [del]Rosemary[/del]Adalind’s baby, but I am mondo pissed off about the showdown between Monroe and Nick vs. Monroe’s parents being a monthlong cliffhanger.

oh x!@#$%!!

While I hate the wait - that caused me to laugh out loud !

Fucking Olympics.

Was I the only one to go into serious “awwwwwwwww” with Monroe’s proposal? So sweet!

You can’t have a decent Wesen wedding without Bud and the beaver lodge getting involved.

It is VERY cool that they have Dee Wallace playing Monroe’s mom.

Not cool of Monroe to let things come to a head like that with his parents finding out about Rosalee all at once.

I don’t think anything Monroe did would have prevented the scene that happened - had he told them in advance, you can rest assured he’d be explaining to rosalee why they weren’t coming to the wedding, etc.

Sure - there were may mis-steps he made - but its a good alegory for real life ‘whos coming to dinner’ when you know your parents will not approve.

I’m really getting in to Grimm. I just finished the 2nd season though, so I haven’t read any of this thread because I don’t want to spoil anything.

This kind of show is right up my alley. Love it.

Definitely! Maybe the beavers will do the catering for the reception?

It’s a lot of fun. This is a “one thread per season” show, so there are also threads for Seasons One and Two, which you might enjoy reading.

I really enjoy this show. But, I don’t think I care for the actor who plays the lead character. I find him consistently boring. Both in acting, and in characterization. He is consistently outshone by everyone else on the cast. And, in some cases that is shocking, because the character is written so boringly. (I’m looking at you, Juliet for the first couple of seasons. This seasons he is improving, for sure.) Anyway. The show is good enough to overcome this. And, the final seconds of the episode, while stupid (why would Monroe let a Grimm in. Tell him he’s busy for god’s sakes!), look to be an exciting set up for the next episode!

I think this has been the best season of Grimm so far. They’ve spread their wings and really done interesting things with the story. We’re still stuck with that boring stuff in Europe, but other than that, things have been quite fun (and some of it hasn’t been that bad). Mixing the structure of the show up in some episodes, and having Wesen and humans interact in new ways has made for a great season, so far.

Oh, I did think that love interest was going to come back at some point. Maybe I am misremembering, but wasn’t there an episode with a dragon wesen that seemed to have a thing for our favorite Grimm? I thought her character was fun, and was interested in seeing where they took that. But, it seems like it was a one and done.

Ariel the dragon was supposed to be back in season 2, but I guess that didn’t work out. I did see somebody on tumblr post this, which I think is for an upcoming episode (could be wrong), so we may be seeing dragons again soon!

Hey, that wessen made a fur coat Petards would approve of.

Nick vs. Monroe’s parents was a dud. I expected more fists and a few busted clocks.

Yeah, that was resolved way too quickly. (What was the nature of the … duel? meeting of the minds? between Rosalee and Monroe’s mom, though? Did I miss some later explanation of that?)

Very cool when Adalind’s fetus stabbed the guy through the eye with a pen, though.

I was totally expecting the Nick vs Monroe’s parents thing to turn out to be nothing. I’m also curious what Monroe’s mom and Rosalee agreed to. We’ll probably find out next week.

I liked the ending quite a lot, actually. The writers resisted the impulse to have Nick, Rosalee, Monroe and Monroe’s parents getting along, all smiles and knowing glances. Things are still very tense, very divided … just a little less so.

Me too. For some reason I was reminded of an old show, Sisters, where one of the characters converted to Judaism for their spouse. Anyway, I suspect a ceremony of some sort will be the result of that agreement.
