Yeah, I was thinking along similar lines, like when what’s his name converted to Greek Orthodox in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”
I think this was a pretty good episode. I was a little surprised that Sgt. Wu went over the edge, but at the end with him seeing the Aswang in his mind, it totally made sense. It really has me wondering how they’ll resolve this.
I think the writers are doing an excellent job. My only complaint is them taking people like Hitler, or in the clip for next week the ancient Egyptian gods, and making them vessen.
Just remember…I said it first! ![]()
Indeed you did
. So, any other predictions?
Rosalie will whip something up, and Wu will be fine.
Wow, to be honest I’ve been thinking along similar lines. Either it means great minds think alike :D, or else the writers will turn out to be that predictable.
I really liked this episode. Nice to have a Wu-centered story, and an interesting (and pretty scary) monster-of-the-week. I’d never heard of the Aswang before, but it really is a Filipino legend.
There was just enough of the Adalind story to move it along without detracting from the action in Portland.
I really thought Nick and Hank would tell Wu the truth in the end. Obviously Hank wanted to, but Nick’s hesitance is understandable.
One thing that’s straining my willing suspension of disbelief is the baby. OK, it has powers. But it also seems to be highly intelligent. I know it’s supernatural and all, but still, it’s showing almost adult levels of knowledge and intelligence that even attributing it to magic seems highly implausible.
I’m honestly not sure how they’ll handle it. If I were writing it, I’d have Nick tell Wu the truth but for some reason I don’t think that is what they’re planning.
They missed the golden opportunity - which would have been neer to the “this is gonna sound crazy” and before he encountered and was attacked by arguably the scariest one we’ve encountered yet.
Right now - telling him would push him further into his ‘special place’ - where he is really going to be questioning reality.
Hey Wu - remember how we told you that what you saw was real? Good, I feel you should know that the Captain is one as well - no, no - put the gun down - he’s a good guy - really - and yeah - he’s gotta baby that will put your eye out with an ink pen if you piss of his mother - and yeah - he’s the head of a secret organization trying to take over the world - but yeah - he’s a good guy - really.
The resistance is trying to stop the royals from taking over the world.
Right - that usually works by them taking over instead ![]()
It’s way, way too early to let Wu in on the big wesen secret. If they never did, I wouldn’t be all that disappointed. But if they did feel like they needed to, I think they should keep him in the dark for at least one more season.
Was anyone else delighted by the fact that Wu’s first name is Drew?
Okay, just me, that’s what I thought. Nevermind.
Maybe if you explained.
I thought it was Reggie, but maybe I’m conflating the actor and the character. ![]()
Hey man, Drew Wu!
As I said, I was pretty sure it was just me.
ETA: Yes, the actor is Reggie Lee, and the character had never been identified by first name, just as Sgt. Wu.
Bumping for tonight’s episode.
Wondering why he wasn’t recognized as a Grimm when he questioned them in the tent.
They only see him as a Grimm when they are vogued -
