Oh. Oh, okay then. (I guess I missed that, or spaced out.)
I know the older wesen guy from this episode as Daniel Jackson’s FiL in the Stargate series.
I wonder if the show is going to put Hank and the cute deputy together. They did seem to share an interested glance, and the actress has a substantial enough resume to make me think that she might be more than a one-shot. Hank seems overdue for some romantic possibilities. He’s been bereft of any since his physical therapist turned him down, right?
Yeah, that was my take also – just based on the look they exchanged when they were introduced.
I also thought she bounced into the show like a more significant character than a single episode guest star.
If she does hook up with Hank, I wonder what kind of vessen she’ll inevitably turn out to be?
I don’t know about that, but I’ll be pissed on behalf of Wu if she gets to learn about Wesen before he does, just 'cause she’s dating Hank.
Poor Wu, Nick told Hank because he was slightly upset after seeing one vessen. Wu was rotting away at a mental institution and they didn’t tell him shit. That was a total dick move, i’d be pretty upset when i learned the truth.
I’ve seen silly shit before, but this takes the prize.
I’m afraid you’ll have to be more specific.
To be fair, her name’s Teresa Rubel, so “Trubel” sort of flows from there, although it makes me think of either a username or possibly a hip-hop artist.
And count me as one of the people who’s pretty unclear on the whole Grimm / Wesen woge visibility thing. Originally I thought it was something about Grimms that made them see things that others didn’t, but after the last few episodes of last season with the sunglasses at the wedding, they cleared up that it has something to do with a Grimm’s eyes.
But Trubel can look at multiple Wesen without having them woge or know she’s a Grimm, which is sort of counter to Nick’s experience. They ALWAYS know he’s a Grimm when he looks at them.
truble has been very good at not ‘directly’ looking them in the eyes - which is why she is able to see them without alerting them to her grimmness.
Nick is almost always looking straight at them -
difference from being a cop vs ‘runaway’ in mindset.
I thought they also had to be in a more excited or upset mental state.
Yes, that’s called a “woge” (they can also do it on purpose but thats rare, hard to do and a big NO-NO. )
When a Grimm looks a wesen in the eye while the wesen is in a woge state, the Grimms eyes (I think the white of their eyes) become black= “an infinite darkness”.
I’m voting for a meerkat-wesen. Cue the classic “morning after” scene, when Hank wakes up in bed and sees her perched upright on the other side of the bed munching on a scorpion. Screenplays just write themselves, don’t they?
Hee!
Fun episode last night – I love the off-the-wall humor of this show.
Bummer on Trouble leaving, now that I’ve decided I like her – think she (and Josh?) will be back? Or are they priming for a spinoff?
Yeah, I had grown to like Trouble–sorry to see her go. Though I agree she’ll probably be back at some point.
Last season I predicted Nick’s powers would come back after about two or three episodes. I was wrong.
I assumed he would get them back by Trubel transferring her powers to him, thus she could go and live a happy normal life.
I had no idea Renard’s mom would go looking for the baby. Although for what reason?
Anyway, I’m loving the fact that this show isn’t so predictable. Yeah, some things are, but I quit a show not too long ago for, among other things, getting too predictable and cliche. I am annoyed that famous and infamous people in history turn out to be Wessen, that is very cliche, but I like the show despite that.
Oh, and I thought Nick’s super hearing was independent of being a Grimm, but apparently since he only started noticing dim and far away noises as his powers came back, I guess they’re a package deal.
His super hearing, strength, stamina, etc started last season after an event* - they are not part of the package deal.
*at the moment, I don’t recall the specifics of the event - I think he was blinded for an episode???
He gained his super hearing separately, but after he lost his Grimm powers he also didn’t have his super hearing. He only started getting back after sex with Juliette and started regaining his Grimm powers.
