Grimm Season 5

From the way Bitsy played her part after the healing, I think Nick’s Magic Stick[sup]tm[/sup] also removed the big stick from Eve’s ass. I’ll give even odds on the question of her still being hexenbiest.

If I remember the Scriptures correctly, Nick & Co. might have three days to resurrect Meisner. Don’t know if the writers are going that route, though … the stick was hinted at being from The Cross, right? Or am I imagining that?

The writers/actors weren’t overt, but it seems to be a virtual certainty that “Eve” is gone and the original pre-hexenbiest Juliette is back. Having Eve be all scared and confused for the last part of the finale, and then heal up and return as mechanical superpowered Eve next season would be a poor narrative, IMHO.

That was an excellent season finale. Settled enough of the plot to feel satisfying but left a lot of threads hanging for next time too.
Kick-ass fight scenes also. I was laughing out loud when Nick stood up behind the Wessen cop after the guy thought he’d killed him. At last a character uses a MacGuffin to the full extent of its capabilities!

Glad you mentioned it. I was almost going to ask about it, because I can’t really remember when and how he went all dark. He’s half Zauberbiest or something though right? I guess he’s always been a little evilish, but suddenly going all in with Black Claw seemed too much too quickly.

Yeah, definitely cave man looking, but cave men didn’t have claws. I was going to say “poor Wu” again but he seems to be kind of enjoying it for now, and he gets to kick butt with his pals. “As long as I know I’m not crazy, I can handle it!”

I took the wig falling off as symbolic of her losing Eve. Too bad, Eve is much more entertaining than Juliette. Did they ever explain exactly how Juliette became Eve? I can’t remember. I thought HW had conditioned her somehow. The fight between her and Bonaparte was fun. I guess the question is whether the stick restored her memories or it also turned her back into a human. Didn’t Truble ask Eve “what Juliette thinks” or something, and Eve said she doesn’t go there because it’s too dangerous. So I guess we’ll find out why it’s dangerous next season.

Total bummer about Meisner. I looked forward to his shirt flying off every so often, dang it. I was also wondering if the healing stick could do something for him, but it doesn’t look good.

She’s got two murders on her head, and she wasn’t mind-controlled or anything so they’ll have to deal with that, even if she’s just a kid.

Of course I yelled “pregnant” the instant Rosalee seemed the teeniest bit unwell. Did anyone not? If you’re a woman on this show, never get sick 'cause now you’re pregnant.

Sounds like the show has only gotten 13 episodes next season.

Renard has certainly got some plan of his own where he is working Black Claw from the inside, and it is incompatible enough with the general “take down Black Claw right now” strategy that everyone else is following that he can’t spill the beans to Nick & co. I’m guessing the cliffhanger showdown between Nick and Renard will be resolved in the first five minutes of next season with Renard finally explaining his plan to Nick.

When they were down in the tunnel and Truble asked Eve/Juliette how she felt, that was definitely Juliette in my opinion, when she responded, “a lot.”

Yeah, but she also didn’t object to staying behind to cover the others retreat or being called eve, you would imagine if she got de-hexenbeasted she would at least know it. I’m surprised they didn’t take the stick straight to Wu since what he has is an actual disease. So was Meisner just a super kick ass human?

Trubel: What did you do to her?
Meisner: What we had to!

Nick: What did they do to you?
Eve: What they had to.

That’s the only explanation we got.

Well, it would be awesome if we had the Eve hexenbiest with all the previous powers, but in a humanized form with some Juliette to tone her down. The robotic She-Terminator schtick got to be a bit old.

Basically, the magic stick healing all the rage and confusion Juliette went through on the way to becoming Eve.

Pure speculation on my part: If Renard was acting as a mole in Black Claw, his hidden mission would have been to reign in the North Precinct full of wesen. I have no external show buzz that says this, just playing the odds on typical Hollywood story writing.

…I had the benefit of watching the series kind of in “reverse.” I started midway from Season 2, then went back and caught up on Season 1. Imagine my surprise to see in the pilot Renard was responsible for sending Adalind to kill Nick’s aunt. My impression of Renard was that he was not a good guy. He will play a side if need be: and he played Nick and his crew for a few seasons. But he always had his own agenda and he would do what he needed to do to achieve that, even if his close and loyal friends get in the way. So the heel turn didn’t seem out of character to me: it was something I expected to happen and it eventually did.

I believe young foxes are called kits.
And I’m guessing Wesen typically have 1 or 2 babies, and not the number their animal would have. Otherwise how would it work for lizard or other egg laying Wesen (not to mention the bees)

Well, he said he doesn’t pick sides. I’m sure if Bonaparte had won, he’d sit back as Mayor of Portland (though not quite like “The Mayor” from BtVS) But as his daughter forced his hand and killed the bad man that hurt mommy…

So next year’s villain is either Bonaparte’s boss/rival in Black Claw, Mayor Renard, or resurgent Royals. Or, I dunno, Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch.

Ok, then. Apparently Robby Rist still acts, so Cousin Oliver it is.

Pictures of him with long hair kind of make him look like Chumlee.

I also didn’t think that Renard joining Black Claw was in character for him. But at any rate I think next week will start with Renard leaving to go confront Diana for making him kill Bonaparte.

With only 13 episodes it’s going to be hard to wrap everything up, and it might need to end on a cliffhanger, either to hopefully allow a season 7 (on NBC or have the show move to another network) or a movie.

I’m really surprised it’s only getting 13 episodes next season. Either the ratings are too low or the production costs are too high.

Agreed. I can tolerate Bitsy as Eve, but she makes me want to stick needles into my eyeballs as Juliette.

I neglected to take into account the baby(ies) are half Blutbad. Not sure how that works is one Wesen dominant, or will it be a hybrid.

A cross fox?

Six seasons and a movie!

Half a season should be enough time to wrap things up. Unless they do like the final season of Lost where they continue creating new threads right up to the end instead of tying them up.
