you are correct - went back and looked at the episode order.
OK, I just finished watching it on NBC.com. Pretty good episode, although Adalind going off on her own instead of working with Nick is just lazy writing in order to create suspense and tension.
My guess is that he’d be a sort of enforcer for the powers-that-be; Grimms seem uniquely qualified to go rough up/kill unruly Wesen, and having one that happens to have the resources of a cop is just that much better.
By the way, what’s the difference between what Wu is and a wessen? Both are humans that can change into human/animal hybrids. The only difference I can see is that Wu wasn’t born a werewolf.
Wesen have more control of when they woge (though they may also do so when very upset), but I think the main difference is they have more control while in the woge state (though they do lose some control) and can remember what they did.
Can Wu learn to control going into and during transformation? Possibly.
Brian
More importantly - Wesen is a race - and Lycantrhopy is a ‘virus’ - which presents differently in Bluthbad (only angry/out of control on full moon, but still essentially a bluthbad).
Excellent description of the distinction. I was getting a little confused too.
Juliet/Eve wasn’t born wesen, but she certainly is now.
Hexenbeists are weird.
I was out Friday night and there’s no episode from this week On Demand – was it not on, or have they just not posted it yet?
Adele concert aired instead, at least locally.
Brian
Ah, good. Thanks!
When I was looking it up, I found out that the next show will be on the 13th, and then the final two shows of the season will be back to back next week (I mean the 20th of course).
I have to say, Renard siding with Black Claw seems out of character for him. He joins the resistance to keep the royal family from taking over only to join a much more violent group and have them take over. :dubious:
Anyway, other than that I like how they’re handling everything. I’m thinking for all intents and purposes Wu is a now more or less a wessen. Maybe psudo-wessen would be more appropriate. And I love Trubel. Always have. She’s a great loyal friend, and someone you not want to have as your enemy. Eve and Meisner are just there. They say some lines, and… not much else.
Next week, back to back: The Beginning of the End Part 1 and Part 2. Pretty ominous title.
Yeah, it was bad enough to think that Renard didn’t know what was going on – but that he’d join Black Claw?
Of course, it’s impossible for a show this absurd to jump the shark . . . .
I like how Meisner’s shirt gets ripped off during a fight. Well of course it should.
Poor Wu. Most abused TV character ever.
Gaaargh I hate cliffhangers! I saw Juliette coming the second he went for the stick. I’m just glad Monroe found out about the baby before the episode ended.
Who predicted Rosalee was pregnant? (has to be a trope – if a woman has stomach pains – she is pregnant 9 times out of 10)
The stick isn’t a de-Wesen-izer, because it healed Monroe fine. Maybe it’s because she was turned into a hexenbiest, the stick was returning her to her original form.
(too bad, because Eve could open that grate…)
I thought Renard would have second thoughts with the killing of Meisner (and torture of Adalind). Maybe he still will.
Wu in control (mostly).
There are a lot of dead bodies all over the place…
Brian
Renard’s turn to the dark side over the past several episodes just seems really out of character. He’s been pretty consistently ‘good’ over the past few seasons (when he wasn’t possessed by Jack The Ripper). But maybe that’s just the nature of the zauberbiest.
About WereWu. At first I thought he looked like a blutbad when he woged, but now I think he looks more like a Neanderthal. Like he regresses to a more primitive state.
I think we all saw that coming with the magic stick and Eve/Juliette, but what exactly did it do beyond healing her wounds? I guess for one it knocked that stupid wig off of her.
I liked how Nick then used the stick to play in God mode for the big fight.
Nice use of the psychopath Diana to take care of the big bad. I wonder what will happen with her now. She’s too powerful to keep around, from a story-telling perspective. Does Adalind take her and leave?
There are a hell of a lot of dead cops laying around now. A couple at Nick’s precinct, some at the North precinct, and a bunch at Nick’s loft. Seems like it would be awful hard to sweep all this under the rug.
RIP Meisner
How old is Diana supposed to be? She looks a little too old for the age that she’s acting. Also, before she becomes too big of a problem could be tricked into drinking Nick’s blood to take away her power.
There were some big hints that Renard didn’t go completely over to the dark side. He shot Meisner as a mercy killing, to spare Meisner from the agony of Bonaparte’s torture. He also couldn’t handle Adalind being strangled on the staircase.
The entire fight scene in the office reeked of, “Nick, you haven’t a clue, but I can’t blow my cover. Out the window you go.”
Diana was aged so they could use a kid old enough to act. Period. Still, I loved how the little psycho became a wildcard nobody accounted for. I actually cheered/LOLed when she did the voodoo doll bit on Bonaparte.
Overall my big takeaway from the cliffhanger was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows plays The Empire Strikes Back.
ETA: I can hardly wait until Rosalee has her puppies… ![]()
