I still haven’t quite sorted out my feelings about the finale. It was like two episodes cut in half and mixed together. Either one would have been quite enjoyable and exciting as a regular episode during the season, and then they could have left us with some myth-arc mystery (about Renard or the key) to tease us over the summer.
So - does this mean that Renard is not a beasty? one would have thought he would have turned at some point during the scene with him getting beaten about the head and shoulders… and other than him being on the show next season, why did yakuza dude leave him alive anyway?
Yakuza dude was interrupted by Sgt. Wu. Killing is messy, and a good perp has to save his own butt first…
ETA: Juliette appears to be a man-made wesen, thanks to Adalind and her cat (VWife: "WHY IS IT ALWAYS A SIAMESE WHEN THEY NEED A BAD CAT???). Nick’s Mom appears from Grimm witness protection.
I wonder if Juliette is a Hexenbiest now.
I doubt it’s that, Adeline was completely heart broken when she lost her powers so i don’t think it would be so simple to get them back.
Is the cat a new Black Oil delivery system? Even less reliable than killer bees and corn, you’d think.
Because they are evil. Has she never [del]owned[/del] lived in the same [del]home[/del] domicile as one?
I think it’s the ‘Siamese Voice.’ Those breeds have a different sound than other cats, and it sounds demonic when they’re mad.
I don’t think that was a siamese. Probably a himalayan.
I think the covering of the cat’s carrier is a setup as well and may reveal a surprise when it is uncovered next season.
I don’t get the Sleeping Beauty reference, though, after Juliette appeared to wake up with the same eyes the cat had. Wonder if her tongue is also gold?
I wondered about Renaurd as well, not displaying any powers after being attacked, and like Simster, it was surprising he was left alive. The guy had no problem attacking the cop outside and getting away.
If she has the same eyes of the cat then maybe the cat will have Juliette’s eyes. Maybe Adeline did a soul swap and Juliette’s soul is trapped in the body of the cat.
Or perhaps She will spontaneously recover and Adelind will be able to view through Juliette’s eyes. I was seriously hoping that Nick would go total Grimm and the episode would end with him mowing Adelind down and dragging her off to be questioned.
I’m thinking Renaurd is a Grimm.
No, in the Grimm wiki it says he is a member of one of the 7 royal houses, and grimms seem to stand apart from wesen and have their own hierarcy. I think, going by his name, he is a fox and is the ‘king of the city’ for some value of the west coast. Maybe the entire state?
If anybody wants to catch up on “Grimm,” NBC has posted EVERY EPISODE on their website. They seem to want more “Grimm” junkies before the first season DVDs are released and think that more of the new viewers will buy the DVDs than will say, “Nah, I seen it already.” It’s surprising that NBC is finally getting a clue as to how we operate.

Hulu has the whole season up now, too.
For those who watch traditional-style TV – NBC is running the pilot/first episode tonight at 10, 9 Central.
From the preview shown of next week’s episode, they are not showing them in order. That just doesn’t make sense to me.
I’m guessing that the royal families simply have more control. And he has to be some sort of fox wesen (kind of like kitsune) or his name makes no sense.
I thought Monroe said at some point it was only something you’re born with?
Yeah, I thought it was a himalayan too from the size.
Nick is kind of stupid for not having told Juliette and Hank sooner. People who have the truth hidden from them look for answers and it gets them in trouble, so if he keeps the truth much longer from Hank…
Nick was really stupid for not bringing Juliette to Monroe first to convince her of the truth. Hopefully he handles it better when he tells hank.
Yep. unfortunately if he did, it wouldn’t have been as DRAMATIC; but it would have made for a far more interesting subtle interplay. I was disappointed in the writer’s choice here as well. We could have had a simultaneously serious and hilarious scene as Nick and Monroe argue across the table in “code” to one another, Monroe finally losing his patience and just showing his face to Juliette, who then promptly freaks out and faints. It would have been more in tone with the series, and still left adequate time for the serious scenes of Nick looking for Adelind.
