Guns, Runs, & Zev(u)ns - a Russian currency conspiracy MMP

Mooooom, you can get a tow even if you can’t get it out of park. They pretty much do what they do with badly wrecked vehicles and put a dolly under it, hook it up to be pulled onto a flatbed (don’t ask me how I know this).

Wait — just to be clear — since I just read this can I hate you for the next 24 hours or just the next 2 hours? I just want to be sure about that.
Damn college kids mean extra unexpected volume. And one truck that invoiced like 1,500 packages was actually over 7k packages. It was indeed a jungle out there today. But the vast majority of us survived. (One exception said F-it at break and resigned)

There was just a fatality on my sidewalk.

& since it’s s’posed to rain tomorrow, I won’t even need to sweep away the salt I used on the slimy big slug. I hates slugs!

Worked ,came home. Beer time. Convention package is already out, 353 days till next one.

If you taunt me too much, I might break out in hives.
And just say No to slugs.:stuck_out_tongue:

Italian. Butt eye lerned too spele inn Publik Skoolz.:smack::wink:
Sorry about your friend. :frowning:

Welcome, Hedonist! And congrats on being “carded” at the hspital.

Hope it’s something cheap, Moooommmm!.

Stop being such a drama queen.

Italian is when the speaker is from It-ly. Utalian is when someone else is from It-ly.

Just like sometimes when you go to the bathroom your American & sometimes
European

That stings

Just don’t use Swiss toilets, because when you pee it can Bern.

As a kid growing up on the Oregon coast, I had a tendency to hunt slugs. My mother didn’t seem bothered by this as long as I remembered to put the salt back where she could find it when I was done.

Could have been worse. ISTR a column of Cecil’s where someone mentioned displaying skewered ones a la Vlad Tepes as “a deterrent”.

Found said column.

Happy Firday!

Up to early because of the cat. I heard him running around the house and crashing into things. What I didn’t hear was the jingle bells of his toys.
He caught a mouse.
I got Sah-son to clean it up, my stomach couldn’t take it at 3:30 am.

**FCD **tried charging the battery last night, but the car wouldn’t start. And it’s not the original battery - I could tell by the label. Anyway, when the shop is open, I’ll call AAA and get it towed over there.

Slept better last night, altho my bladder woke me several times - at least I fell back to sleep quickly. But I’m used to being up at 5 and the last time, I couldn’t drop off, so I’m up. Critters have been tended to and I sprayed the spot where Higgs peed last night and **FCD **didn’t see it. He seems to think she can wait till he’s ready to let her out…

I didn’t really have anything planned for today, which is good, because those plans would be shot about now. I seriously doubt we’ll be going to the ball game - not with 80% chance of t-storms. But we shall see.

Thus beginneth my day. Happy Firday!

blurf have not read. My mysterious sore throat is now a full blown head cold that feels like it is getting in my lungs. Dammit. I only have one employee and one trainee so I just cannot be sick. I can’t miss irk either. I need a bubble to wear so I don’t get my one trained employee sick. Dammit ain’t nobody got time for a cold or whatever it is.

I talked the director into letting me close an hour earlier which will help. And he even said you are screwed if someone gets sick. I will blame him for jinxing me. I had mandatory credit card training yesterday and thankfully the head portion of this disease didn’t start til last night. Ok, enough whining. Off to read and see what you all are in to.

Dang, Butters, you can’t seem to catch a break these days! At least Harvey is predicted to stay well south of you, so there’s that.

I need to shower, dress, and call AAA. Dammit.

You know two of the three employees that left gave notice months ago and one left with little notice but it is a good thing in the long run. It just takes a long time to hire someone because of the background checks and the poor pay. Director asked me what we are paying new employee and when I told him 12.78 he said it should be 14 to start. I told him there will be overtime and for me comp time but he said he is not worried about money. I do worry about money as I have a budget. But, we will be fine and even under budget with two less employees. I have another that starts next Friday but the learning curve is steep. Both new employees are military spouses so they don"t need benefits. I just have no wiggle room right now. A small hurricane would be welcome.

We did achieve a record for July with almost 200K $ in sales. Even got mention in the employee newsletter. It is now time for everyone to leave and for us to get a little break.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 76 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I foresee quality cee-mint pond time. No big plans for the day which is fine by me. Dindin shall be majik intartoobz pizza just cause.

{{{Butters}}} hope you feel better soonest.

MOOOOOOM here’s hopin’ whatever’s wrong with the ride is minor.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify and see what the day brings.

Happy Firday Y’all!

**FCD **did manage to get the car into neutral and he pushed it out on the drive. We were going to take a jump off the truck, but we can’t find the jumper cables! I know we had some, but since we’ve cleaned the shed and the garage and the basement, it’s easy to find anything, and we can’t find them. So we’ll buy some new ones.

He’s gone over to the garage to borrow their jump box, and with luck, we can get the car started and I can drive it the 5 miles to the shop. Then we won’t need AAA. On the plus side, I’m showered and dressed, so there’s that.

Torturing animals as a child is one of the symptoms of a serial killer. :dubious:

Whew. Acquired a cheap student-style sofa bed. Got back to discover all my housemates had vanished (leaving a lingering smell of toast, must have just missed 'em), and though I had nearly got the sofa in the car well enough to be safe, the boot wasn’t quite shut, so I couldn’t leave it in the car parked on the street, and had to get it out of the car and into the house entirely by myself.

Probably scuffed the fabric, but we’re talking a £20 second hand sofa that will be covered by a throw, so I don’t really care. Feeling dead macho for managing it.

Well, it’s not the battery - we jump-started the car and as soon as he disconnected the cable, it died. So alternator? Certainly more expensive than a battery anyway.

AAA is on the way. After all those years of paying for membership, we’re getting our 4.6 mile tow for free… rah. Just now got a call - the truck should be here in about 10 minutes. That’s good, I guess.

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Closing shift tonight. Heat Advisory today, glad the Volvo has working A/C.

Congrats on being manly, Nut!

Feel better, Butters.

**Buttahs **(that’s the Boston pronunciation), feel bettah! It is not right to have a cold in summah. We should only get colds when it’s, well, cold, so we can pile on blankies when we are lying on the sofa waiting to die or improve.

Only needing light readers is GREAT!

I have a lot of white hair, but my hair is dark ash blonde, so other than the large streak on one side (which no one can see due to how I part my hair) it mostly looks like highlights.

Survived the innovation meeting. My team didn’t win this year, dammit. Frankly, we were TOO innovative. The judges went for lower-hanging fruit that we know we can complete.

But one of my team’s ideas was picked up for additional development as part of the area’s regular software improvement process! Yay!

The car is in the hands of our car guys. So, is it the battery? Alternator? Computer <shudder>? Evil spirits? Nazis?

Stay tuned to this station.
