No, Dorjan was correct. It’s the apathy and indifference of the nation that allows this to continue. The crooks couldn’t get away with any of this if the nation actually gave a shit enough to stop them.
I disagree with the thread title. We really don’t look all that good at the moment, certainly not from the world’s eyes. We look disfunctional and broken, because we are. Any semblance of unity is long gone.
I spent most of the day watching soccer with French people. Was going to fireworks in the evening but it rained.
Because I work the second shift, I am at the mercy of the calendar as to whether I will be able to go and properly enjoy a fireworks display or whether I’ll have to settle for wandering out of the office for a sec and maybe glimpsing a few bursts in the far distance. This year, the calendar worked out in my favor. Not only did I get to see a nice show, but it was way less crowded than I thought it would be (probably because of the rain that conveniently stopped about an hour before the show started).
