And to you as well. Beautiful sentiment and image.
Oooo! I like those candles!
(Mine are rather pedestrian blue and white, but that’s fine. I’m still use the menorah my parents used, it’s probably over 70 years old now.)
And many happy returns.
Happy Chanukah! My wife’s first latkes of the holiday we’re different this year - par-baked potatoes were shredded and then fried until crispy.
Happy Hanukkah! I wish I had a great big bag of doughnuts right now…
A happy Hanukkah to all.
So… we’re going to add a candle every night? Great idea!
Hanukkah Sameach!
I’ll take the donuts anytime!!!
Chag sameach friends
I saw a video clip yesterday of Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff talking about Hanukkah. They were sitting together with a menorah and Doug asked the soon-to-be Veep what Hanukkah means to her.
She said she loves the holiday because it really is about “bringing light to places where there have been darkness,” especially at a time where there is so much darkness in the world. The video was so relaxed and happy and loving.
She’s not Jewish but it is a part of her family and life. Watching that I could picture her expressing such goodwill toward celebrations of all religions. Similarly, Biden seems to have genuine appreciation and respect of faiths other than his own.
Ya, I know, they’re politicians and part of that is sucking up to everybody. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t genuinely concerned about folks other than themselves. It looks like window dressing but it is actually possible to care about other people. I think many of us have forgotten that.
I hope so. It is bringing light to me and I sure need it.
Thank you for sharing this. After so much darkness, we need the focus on light.
Happy Chanukah
I’m missing my kids right now. This is the first time we haven’t been able to celebrate Chanukah and Christmas with them. So I’m lighting the candles each night this way instead. When my daughter was away at college I remember sending a picture of the Menorah.
Ooo… those candles are SO PRETTY!
Excellent, thank you for sharing.
BTW: I feel like I should disclaimer, I am not Jewish, but my wife and therefore my kids are. I’m nothing really, I guess a recovering Roman Catholic agnostic. But we’ve done the Christmas Tree & Menorah every year. My Christmas tree this year is 24" tall and our Menorah is virtual only. This thread.
