Happy Chanukah Everyone

Wish I was there. Maybe next year.

No disclaimer necessary. I started out Catholic but became Jewish 24 years ago. Oh yeah, in the Before Times, I sang in an Episcopal church choir. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hanukah starts for me tomorrow. I’ve been out of olive oil, the grocery delivery doesn’t come until tomorrow, and it ain’t Hanukah without latkes.

Happy Chanukah everyone. The 4th night has begun.

For those who are Jewish and those who are not …

For those celebrating Hanukkah and those who are not …

I present two total classics:

L’chaim !

Happy Chanukah, 5th Evening. I’m just a little early.

Beautiful! Here’s mine

@ThelmaLou @What_Exit

Thank you for bringing the light into my home this Monday evening.

Beautiful and warms my spirit. :menorah:

How beautiful these pictures are.

Sixth night

Thank you ThelmaLou. I had a miserable and busy night. Thank you for the gift of the lights.

How nice! Hag Hanukkah sameach everybody.

Sorry to hear that. Hope things are better. Shalom and sleep well.

Thanks for those pictures. I wish I knew better how to use my cell phone camera and get pictures off of it. Our Hanukiah (the word for a Hanukah menora) is Israeli made and is beautiful.

I learned something do today. I never knew a Hanukah menorah was a Hanukiah.

From a couple of nights ago, our ecumenical scene:

A regular menorah has seven candles-- it was the lamp used in the ancient Temple in Jerusalem. A Hanukkia (Hanukka menora) has nine candles, eight for each of the nights and one more called the “shamash,” which you light first and then use to light the other candles.

I actually knew that part oddly enough. But whatever I pick up is from my wife.

Happy Chanukah everyone. The 7th Night and a snowy night.

I’m going to miss these when it’s over. I’ll miss the social connectedness even more.
