I just ate a Goo Goo Cluster. Oh, it was so sweet. I may need a shot of insulin….
I had to goo-goo-google it.
No, thank you.
Had a Manhattan tonight, making Redneck stirfry with cheesy broccoli for dinner.
Yeah, all the male trees get morning wood.
Feel better, red!
Hope the knee gets better, Metal Mouse. And enjoy the trip.
I got to reschedule my appointment. Again.
DFW to SEA should be decent. It’s a long enough flight that the airlines put some effort into it. The shorter flights mostly just get a free drink if you’re lucky.
Have a great trip!
A younger than us man came over and moved the dirt pile from the tree to the front of the house in exchange for a perfectly good tablet that I replaced because I wanted more memory. I think we took advantage of him, but he seemed to think it was a good deal because he needed a new tablet today instead of next week when he gets paid.
The dirt mover is in charge of the County Transfer station down the road and smells like he works at a dump*. (That’s the smell of money in his case.) He walked on our kitchen carpet runner and left magnificent traces of mysterious smells for the cats to find. GG and VBC are currently doing rather obscene looking things with the runner.
Our backyard was years in the making but it is finally coming together. There are things I’d like to do in the front yard, but first we would have to fence it in and that would cause issues with hubs getting his bike out of the barn he had placed in a rather bad spot. That’s OK, mostly I want a couple of trees out there but we won’t live long enough to see them grow.
*there was NO judgement in that statement. He’s doing a vital job, some jobs are more stinky than others.
I miss goo goo cluster ice cream… that was the bomb …
in other news, we’re consuming del tacos Tuesday night tacos (3 basic tacos for 1.69 I get about 20 bucks worth for the fam) deal because mother nature finally lit the pilot light and the bbq has started for the year it seems and our choices seem to be either get blown across the desert by the wind or melt in a puddle …
I think its time to check the swamp cooler …
Oh, and a sad saga has finally ended on a positive note… my aunt received her checks from the state for the maintenance of yours truly … it’s only 3 hours a day but I’m told I need it … but the cash is needed more lol
Yay! I’m glad that finally got cleared up.
however, i had to send a note to del taco inc because my local store decided to use all the leftovers from the back of the pantry for the hard tacos and if you’ve ever eaten a premade Ortega taco shell from a half-open box a week later you know what I’m talking about …
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!!!
May the Fourth Be With You
< reflexively Catholic >And also with you</ reflexively Catholic* >
Yay!
No, but that sounds less than ideal.
*yeah, I know it’s “And With Your Spirit” in the updated Liturgy. Sue me.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 67 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 89 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today we shall procure provisions. I am still sore from yestiddy’s exertion, so today will be a day of sloth and general overall uselessness. Sup shall be leftovers from Moanday. It shall be hawt out this afternoon, so a good day to be in da cave and cool.
MetalMouse happy travels.
Jane The Cane seems to me like the dirt mover and y’all got a good deal. I mean, he’s happy with the tablet, you’re happy with the moved dirt. Sounds win-win to me!
shades glad that got cleared up. Also, it is Del Taco, not as scary as Taco Bell, but still it is fast food tacos.
doggio Happy Star Wars Day! Whiskypalians say “and also with you.” The proper response in the Rite I (old) Liturgy is “and with thy spirit.”
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Woe is me.
Happy Hump Day and Star Wars Day Y’all!
I noticed that at the memorial mass - it was like a blast from the past. That’s how we responded when I was a kid.
It rained overnight - apparently with lots of thunder, but I was solidly unconscious. More rain may fall today.
FCD is doing a session for our daughter’s class today, and he’ll swap cars with her while there. I have no set plans today - more tidying, I guess, and I should run the vacuum before our carpets are all cat-colored. Except our carpets are gray, as are the cats, so… And the dishwasher needs to be emptied. And I suppose I could run a load of unders thru the laundry. Guess I do have plans for the day.
I’ll make a run to Food Lion also. They’ve got whole chickies for 99¢/lb - I’m going to get one to rotiss for when the inlaws are here. So much for not buying anything to feed them - but I’d have bought one anyway - we like rotissed chickie!
Terlit repair solved the problem, so huzzah for that! It’s the little things, yanno?
Happy Wednesday!
Howdy all. Sitting in the Huntsville airport; my 7:17am flight has been delayed to 9:51am and my connected has been rebooked but I have 15 minutes in Dallas to make it, so very unlikely. Probably will make it to Seattle at 7:25pm tonight after hours sitting in airports…ah, the joys of travel. As long as I make it there tonight I’ll be happy…sort of.
HSV has wi-fi but virtually no plugs to charge things, so I can’t stay on-line forever. Forgot how much traveling can be a royal PITA at times.
And the taxi was $30, about $10 more than last time–gas prices, I guess.
And I forgot my jacket, so I’ll have to buy a new one tomorrow in Seattle.
OK, done moaning. For now. Everyone have a good Fourth.
Showered and dressed. Unders in the washer. Clean dishes put away and dirties in the dishwasher, and the kitchen is more or less tidied. FCD will be leaving in about an hour, and I’ll break out the vacuum cleaner after he’s gone.
I’m going to text his aunt and get a recommendation for a hotel near them. I don’t want to hurt her feelings, but we’re too old to sleep on a couch or the floor, dammit! I’ve been asking FCD to get their address, but he still hasn’t - we don’t know where in Indy she lives. Sometimes he makes me crazy…
Afternoon, mumpers! It’s been a mixed bag of a day here. Cool, grey and dismal when I got up, sunny on the way to the eye horse-pistol, heaving down with rain when I scuttled from clinic to pharmacy, and sunny when I got home. Doc peered in my poorly peeper, declared it pure dead raging (or would have done if she was Scottish), and gave me both steroid drops and antibiotic gel. Should sort it out pretty quickly.
Mooom sorry to hear about the cruise cancellation, and also that FCD isn’t that interested in them either. I must admit I like the idea but I’d be with BBBoo having a good read and watching the world go by.
metalmouse hope the flights get sorted out for you! We had some of ours moved and/or cancelled so our plans went a little skewiff but the airlines were very good at rebooking things to get us where we needed to be. American Airlines first class is not that shabby, we’ve done it a few times and had a few giggles at the conversations overheard by people hoping to upgrade and finding someone else had dared to pay for first class and “stolen their seat”.
nellie welcome back! Glad you had fun
Right…that’s enough screen time, off to medicate!
I had a research breakthrough the other day and had the following interaction with my colleague/supervisor.
Me: Warning. Incoming Results. Warning. Incoming Results.
Me: You do know Reboot right? (link to the Warning. Incoming Game from Reboot).
Me: Surely, my PhD supervisor must have warned you, that you would be getting insane messages from time to time before you hired me right? So this is really on you.
Him: I do know Reboot. Yes, he did. And I think your casual relationship with reality is part of what makes you a great researcher.
OMG, did I laugh.
I totally love this phrase.
This reminds me, I’m pondering what color car is least likely to show dirt.
BooFae I’m sorry to hear about your eye. I hope the assorted goop fixes it right up.
I’m glad your colleague appreciates your sense of reality. Grad school/uni life is a drag without that.
I have real life to do today. Blurf. Hubby is in dire need of meds. Double blurf, with a side of desperate “what the hell do I do”?
Take care everyone. Happy Wednesday.
Is a good way to describe my weather the past few weeks. Grey and gloomy.
Normal Wednesday heave. But there were a bunch of blind people in the middle of the road on the way out of the parking lot.
He’s starting to make me crazy.
Sounds like the most popular Goth in high school.
I remember ReBoot!
