Happy Thanksgiving MMP

Monrovia – no problem. Monroeville – STOP BUYING UNTIL MONDAY!

And thank you for making me first!

Ah, blissful slumber!

**FCD **and I were both exhausted yesterday, and we crashed around 8:30. He came to realize that a Boxster really isn’t a good vehicle for a road trip. Surprise!! Anyway, I woke at 5:30, more or less refreshed, but he’s still crashed. Life is good.

After he’s up and about, we’ll do breakfast, then get whatever we need to remedy the disconnected dryer hose issue - either a new, longer hose or an extension to the vent line - and we’ll install it so I can launder our unders. That’s the big plan for the day. Beyond that, we’ll wing it.

It’s a good day. Happy Saturday!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I must have been tired, I didn’t wake uo till 0820. I didn’t even hear Alex Catt hornk on my bed. “The Mad Puker” is now on THE LIST

Beats having a traditional derelict Thanksgiving: Turkey with all the tremens.

Up, caffeinating and chilling before I take a shower to go to a Thanksgiving celebration with friends.

Happy Saturday!

It’s a cloudy 43 degrees outside. Supposed to get up to 51 today.

I just woke up a bit ago, so we are going to be late leaving for the armpit. As long as we are out of here by 11:30 and don’t hit any major traffic, we should be good.

I’m waiting for Sah-son to get out of the shower, then I can get one. The dog needs a bath, but I think I have some dry doggie shampoo around here somewhere. I don’t know about getting him up and down the stairs anymore and he’s too big for the kitchen sink. I’d rather not take him, but at his age he can’t stay home 8+ hours without going out.

Life used to be a lot easier.

What a lovely holliday! Slept in on Turkey day, watched the parade & pigged out all day. Yesterday I took a ride in a speedboat watched mom and janisnevvy#2 go parasailing, saw a dolphin, got some great pictures, went shopping, got ice cream, walked on the beach with PB, dipped my toes in the gulf of Mexico and relaxed in the hot tub. Ahhhhhhhh. Packed and cleaned oily this A.M. and now we are on the way to deheathenization. Unfortunately we will be late. Have a great day all!

You have absolutely no shame, do you? :dubious:

People ask me this question also. I always give an honest response: “Not really, no.”

I tried to solve my pun addiction by writing rhyming poetry, but I ended up making it verse.:D:p:p:p:p

This.

sari, Gordie is getting winter dry skin, so I’m feeding him salmon, and I’m gonna [del]pour lava and bloiling oil on him[/del]bathe him this afternoon.

Home from breakfast and Lowe’s. The dryer vent has been replaced and duct tape was involved on the ducts - who woulda thunk??? I brought in some of the laundry from yesterday, but it’s not all dry. I’ve got a load of FCD’s stuff in the washer right now. His folks use a gawd-awful stinky dryer sheet and I get a headache from the stink of his clothes. So they’re all getting rewashed and hung out in the breezy sunshine.

Dunno what the rest of the day holds, but we got a good start on the day. Yay!!

The fresh-off-the-smoker salmon for lunch was good.
I over cooked the mozzarella; it came out crunchy. I have to figure out if I can do that inside as it was awesome!!!
The smoked turkey for dinner was good too.
The pee-can pie was just okay (but okay enough to have for brekkie, too. ;)) What? Don’t judge, I’m not a Southerner Thank Og!

Now the jambalaya is a jambalayan away on the stove; the kitchen is cleaned up to it’s normal messy state. There is a lot of cutting & chopping to make jambalaya; very glad I have an electric knife. So glad, I’ve decided to buy the Mumpers electric appliances for the holidays!
Swampy does a lot of cooking & men’s night’s steaks at the church so he gets an electric knife.
Mooommm gets one of these for her medicinal ice cream
Ruble likes to both go away & drink, so this seems appropriate.

I like this!
Doggio, you’re nuts, you get the electric fork. :stuck_out_tongue:

…& Flytrap, you get the biggest electric appliance, one you can sit in; you’re getting Old Sparky! Now don’t you feel loved?

Duct tape actually does not do well on ducts. They make an adhesive foil tape that works wonders on ducts.

Yeah, we saw the foil tape, but spousal unit said duct tape would be fine. It’s not being used to hold the ducts together so much as it’s sealing the joints. So even if it fails, it’s not a biggie.

Ribs for supper. **FCD **didn’t have any of the ones I sent with him and his bro took the leftovers home. Luckily, I’d kept a slab aside, meaning supper is gonna be easy.

OMG - I don’t know how my inlaws live with their laundry!! I just finished re-washing all of FCD’s clothes and they still reek of the gawd-awful dryer sheets that they use. I found out my FIL does the laundry and he will leave multiple dryer sheets thru multiple cycles. I know they use the highest heat, so it just bakes the reek into the fabric. I don’t know what brand they use, but I always prefer unscented products.

I couldn’t believe that when I walked past the wet clothes on the line, there was a cloud of scent hanging in the air. But the sun is out and a breeze is blowing, and I’ve already decided to leave it all out overnight. Hope it de-stinkifies!

Meanwhile, I’ve got a load of whites in the washer. They’ll go in the dryer. I’m not optimistic about this load.

I shuffled a lot of furniture, moved clothing between two closets, went to the local branch of my gym to ask how does one go in out of hours (they’re in a mall; there’s a door but it’s a good idea to know where the heck it is before going there at ungodly a.m.), walked back home, moved more furniture, finished putting away the stuff that was still un-put-away after the move, threw away two bags of paper.

I think that all counts as exercise.

ETA: oh, and I did three loads of laundry. I need to lay down more clotheslines, there is room for 4 but for some reason there is only one up so I can only do one bedsheet at a time. But I’ll do that… tomorrow… if I can find the line.

I’m in a food coma

We finished the leftovers yesterday, so today I will have to actually plan for dinner.

I believe we’re going to see Moana today (the newest Disney flick). Other than that, I’m still trying to kick my daughter out of her bed. Sigh. Teenagers.

I have finished [del]pouring lava and boiling oil on[/del]bathing Gordie. I need a nap. I smacked my right middle toe on a bookcase last night, it’s a lovely shade of purple now.

If you hand it to me with the switch in the non operational position, are you giving me the ol’ fork off?

Evenin’ all!

I’s tahred. I was supposed to be going to a friend’s housewarming tonight, but I irked today, and am irking some more tomorrow, due to holiday covering, so I decided to stay in and do some foot warming instead.

I also decided to organise my revenge by booking my own holiday. I have decided to opt for the saner option of Spain, rather’n freezing in Iceland. I shall Icelandify if/when I have a bit more money available, as most of the things I want to do are a bit pricey, and just mooching round in the dark occasionally losing an extremity to frostbite isn’t that appealing.

Hope y’all had a good Thanksgiving, those who do such things. I was going to make a sweet NOT pie, from the recipe someone gave me on here a few years back, but I didn’t. I couldn’t find the recipe, and besides, the kitchen was full of housemates (everyone was making chilli, one slightly different pot each, very odd).

Afternoon, everyone.

Thanksgiving was nice; my daughter and son-in-law hosted. All I had to do was show up with my stuffing/dressing. They had a couple of friends and son-in-law’s mother there too. The company was nice, the food was great, and the whole day was drama and stress free.

They sent us home with leftovers (not the stuffing though, because I had another dish of it at home). We ate most of those last night. There’s still about half a dish of my stuffing left in the fridge too, but tonight we’re going to have navy bean soup with ham, carrots, celery, onions and various seasonings. When it’s done, I’ll take a little of the soup out, puree it and return it to the large pot. It should be tasty.

I’ve cleaned most of the kitchen up and am debating on whether to do my laundry today or tomorrow.

It’s kind of a dark dreary day here, but a fire and a book make those days most pleasant. I hope everyone else has a most pleasant day.
