Happy Thanksgiving MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 34 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 72 and mostly N.O.S. The predicted high for TDay is 80. Go figure. I shall finish defilthyfyin’ da cave today and at least make up the dressin’ for the big feast. I think I shall go ahead and boil the turkey innards as well. Enough to keep me relatively occupied I believe.

2Pat pics of all animals are mandatory. Just so you know.

As far as I know no one in my 'hood has decorations up yet. I’m kinda surprised at that.

OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I suppose I should clean myself up and commence to defilthyfication etc.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Blurf. I completely missed an opportunity to Mump yesterday, the entire day kind of got away from me, and the commute home too over 2hrs which is far longer than it should do. Bad weather, broken trains and flooding was all to blame.

Today I have a sore throat and a stuffy head so not feeling on top of the world, and I have a session at the gym with my personal trainer tonight so I need to get well enough to do that. More tea, it’s the only way forward.

What am I thankful for? Well, not having the nightmare of T-day! I have a pretty good life really, there are things I’d like to change but I have a home, a job and 'im indoors, our pets are healthy, our families are healthy, and my doting parent reaches 82 on Sunday.

I am really, really tired of being sick. Woke up at 4:30 to have a nice coughing fit, and haven’t been back to sleep. I realize that the coughing is just getting the last of the crud up out of my lungs and I’m wholly on the mend. But enough is enough.

I also realized this morning that there is little to no food in the house, and the Roomies are about to leave for four days. I have to decide if I want to go to a grocery store, or live on canned goods and oatmeal. I’m pretty sure it’s going to end up being the latter.

Moooom, we got a light coating of snow last night, and the dogs glared at me like I’d done it on purpose to upset them when they went out this morning. They’re both a little higher off the ground than Higgs, but they were Not Happy.

Haven’t had a lot to be thankful for lately, but…
I’m thankful that I’ve moved to a new place, even though it’s quite a bit of an adjustment trying to get used to it.

I’m having trouble with my hot water heater. It’s in the garage and I never had problems before, but the last couple of weeks, it seems if I go out a couple of times (raising and lowering the garage door) the light goes out and I have to restart it. It always restarts and it gets the water nice and hot, but I’m getting tired of having to check it every morning.

Leaving tomorrow for my brother’s place, an 8-hr drive, so lots of laundry is on the schedule for today, along with running the dishwasher and a few other clean-ups. Did get air into the tires, so they are nicely inflated for the drive.

I live in a cul-de-sac in a mundane suburban neighborhood and I don’t think I’ve seen a cop car on the street in the 19 years I’ve been here. That doesn’t mean horrid things aren’t going on, of course…but no Xmas decorations, yet.

**drae, FCM, ** you remind me of living as a child in Northern Ohio, we had a dachshund and during winters my brother and I had to dig paths in the back yard so she could go out without getting lost in the drifts…

Winchester was rescued from Georgia, so he was delighted the first time he saw snow … until a few weeks later when it just kept happening. Ten years later, he still gets pretty damn excited the first time there’s a good fall of any depth, but if he’s just outside to do his business after being rousted from a nice warm bed he gets a little tetchy about it. While we’re not 100% certain, we think he’s got a fair amount of corgi in him, so he’s not very high off the ground.

Wallace, on the other hand … well, he’s a whippet mix, with no fat and a thin coat. It’s just about time for him to start wearing the Dreaded Winter Sweater. Maybe I’ll make him a new one this year. Because it’s kind of funny how much he hates putting it on.

We’ve had to shovel for Higgs as we did for Scruffy, since she was also low to the ground. In fact, there was one winter we even had to shovel for Bernie, and she was reasonably tall.

As long as we uncover a layer of leaves for Higgs, she’s good.

When we were still living in NJ, one of the other families in our building had a Boston that would not poop in the snow, so there was always a nice shoveled area that Winchester would avail himself of.

For a second I thought the dog had been buried in snow, and you had to dig him out.
I’d better pay better attention for the next test.

Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) son in law is from South America, and his English isn’t good. He failed a driver’s test because he was asked to turn on his “four direction emergency signal” instead of flasher. Seems as though Arkansas doesn’t want Spanish speakers to have driver’s licenses.

Doggio, you are always in the Good Things column, as are the rest of the Mumpers, (even flytrap sometimes  )

I’m out of bed and in a wheelchair. Feels good to properly sit up.

Howdy. Went and got my hair did. Now doing loads and loads of laundry.

Hubby went to get an MRI on his neck. He has degenerative disc disease and it is really starting to be painful. He will get shots in his neck which hopefully will last a couple years like the last ones did.

{{{BooFae}}}

drae, my dad lives up north and among his Chihuahua’s winter togs is a pink camo quilted coat. She’s pretty good about wearing the winter gear because it means she gets to go outside and maybe to the bank, post office, coffee shop, bar or for a ride in the truck. :stuck_out_tongue:

Another slow day. By the end, I’ll have everything done so that month end will be a breeze.

I refuse to belong to any club that would accept me as a member.

Been up and puttering. Just a quick stop past and then off to work.

Happy Toosday!

for the third time, my fingers keep hitting the wrong keys.

It’s cold outside but the sun is shining.
I need to go out, get air in the tire and the emissions test.

I had a rough night last night, burn hot, freezing cold, back and forth all night long.
I spent a chunk of this this am on the phone with AT&T to see what is wrong with my phone. Contrary to my expectations, my phone behaved badly and showed the rep the full range of its misbehavior.
They are sending a new battery, but if that doesn’t work I will need to get a new phone. Joy and happiness there, I like the current phone (when it behaves) and I don’t want to spend the money on a new one. Although it may be something I should do anyway and think about it I really want to spend the extra money each money on a smart phone. It’s kind of a waste when I’m home all the time and have access to a laptop and tablet. Then again, my phone is my only indulgence and I am spoiled.

That decision can wait though, I’m still working on choosing a health plan, as well as some other decisions.

Yay Rosie!

Drae - go get your groceries. No one wants to live on oatmeal for 5 days. At least get ice cream!!

My big doggies love the snow, which isn’t too surprising. They galumph about and have a ball. I’m fairly certain little blind doggy will Not Appreciate Snow. She is getting used to the rain though.

'Beamer went have to the roller skating trip today. We’ll see how that goes. 'Beamette is still in bed. I have the sniffles, but I’ll live.

Did my semi-weekly paperirk freakout for the disability folks. There’s always something for them. Their “or else” always end with “or we’ll cut off benefits!” It’s very irritating. Usually the issue is that they need records from one of my providers. They need to use a certain form and send it to the records office. They will not. They use their own form and send it to the doctor directly. The result is that they get nothing. They send me a letter threatening to end benefits. I send the correct form to the records office, and on we go. Annoying.

I suppose in a bit I might try some laundry and I still need to buy a few more groceries. The horror!

Hope the shots help your hubby. This is the same stuff my spousal unit has been dealing with for the last 10 years/8 surgeries. Three of the surgicals were on his neck, and apart from some limited range of motion, he seems to be doing OK there. We’re still waiting for the lower back to heal so we can see if that was a success at long last. DDD sucketh mightily!!!

I just did the stupidest drawing of my entire career. It’s so stupid, I can’t even begin to explain it - you’ll have to trust me when I tell you how stupid it is. And for this, they pay me!! :smack:

The bolded bit is the key part.

Well. yeah - I’m not here for the giggles.

Waiting for a model to load so I can do a drawing from hell. Heck of a way to end my workday! 40 minutes to go!

Today is taking for-friggin’-ever. I do not expect tomorrow to be any better.
