I have finished spiffin’ up da cave and have prepped dressin’ etc as well as made two sweet N.O.T. pies. They will not be eaten here as others are providin’ desserts. One is for a friend and the other is for JDD’s father although I am certain some of it will end up shoved down JDD’s and Partner’s throats. So productive day I’d say. I’m in chill mode now.
rosie yay for sittin’ up! Next comes walkin’.
I had a cocker spaniel (Jake) who saw snow one time in his life. He freaked, almost knocked me down gettin’ back in my parents’ house and ran and hid under the bed. It was hilarious even though I do agree with wantin’ to hide under the bed if it snows part.
**FCD **was trying to find the password for his parents’ router - none of their usual passwords worked. So I poked around on line and found step-by-step instructions for Win10. It worked, and he’s now able to set up their shiny new Netflix account. Go me!
Supper has been ingested and I’m about to assume the TV position till bedtime. One more work day - YAY!
I don’t know what’s going on around here, even the dog and cat do nothing but sleep.
Sah-son forgot to take ground beef out of the freezer, so no tacos for him. He can eat pizza. I’ll be eating chili and thank you Pearl for the tip about sour cream.
I ordered groceries to pick up on Firday.
We’'ll go to my mother’s on Saturday.
Then I have two Christmas obligations, an extended family party on the 17th and something at my mother’s sometime around Christmas Day.
My mother’s gift has been ordered and is on its way to her house.
I still have to shop for the nieces (2), grandniece (1), step-grandnieces (2), and grandnephews (4). They all get double gifts this year because I didn’t buy any birthday presents.
My shopping will be easy - a $10 gift for the family fun exchange, and assorted wines for my mom. That’s all. Since we quit exchanging gifts, life has been so much nicer.
butters, I hope the shot works. I’m looking at that for my lower back as the next line of treatment.
rosie, Yay!!! for sitting up.
Moooom, we went to kids only gifting in my family unless it was handmade or you were going to be spending the holiday with each other. Makes things much more enjoyable.
When I got off irk this afternoon, it took 25 minutes to get past the freeway exit (all of half a mile) because of an accident at the underpass. I went to the crazy that was Kroger and not only got sweet taters, but enough other stuff so that I won’t have to see the inside of a grocery store for another week and a half. Right after I put the groceries in the trunk, a huge SUV died right behind me, blocking me in. Fortunately, because he had been having problems with it, his friend was right behind him with a tow rope. It did take them about 15 minutes to get it moved though.
I don’t want to go anywhere that I have parking or crowd issues anytime soon.
Buttercup, keep us posted on how your husband is doing. Neck pain is the worst! I went through an episode of a bulging disc a few years ago, and I totally sympathize.
Finally home from work…and it was piled up nice and good when I got back to the office today. It almost cancels out the point of taking a day off, really. We’re closing early tomorrow, so I’m hoping I get everything done, so I can get on the road at a decent time.
I’m trying to get my bag packed, and hoping I don’t forget anything. I’ve got the added bonus of having to pack the dogs’ stuff to take over to the sitter’s. Toys, food, treats, and a crate for the little one, since he can’t be completely trusted not to pee in the dining room when no one’s looking. I’m hoping this arrangement works well.
Sigh. As much as I love seeing my family, I truly hate road trips.
I wanted a sound effect. sighs Rimshot it shall be. It sounds vaguely naughty, so it shall fit right in around here.
Midget! waves How are you doing? I think you said you moved? What’s been going on?
I have also survived the grocery store, although I got home and realized that I forgot the cat food. :smack: I think we can eke it out through Friday. Or they’ll eat dog food (which they just demonstrated by tearing open the bag I just bought). We have a winter storm advisory thing going, but I’m still not sure where the snow line will fall. We’re up from the Valley floor a bit, so we’ll see. Sounds like snow up higher, and flooding down lower. I think I’d like snow, please.
