Apparently they’ve been a fad since 2024, but the first time I saw or heard of them was recently when I saw several of them lined up in the drive-through payment window of my local water company. (I thought they were Lego minifigs at first.)
We’ve had a couple of those turn up at my work. I think they’re cute. Our self-checkout clerk has a little diorama on the podium with one along with Stitch, Grogu, an orca, and some sort of demonic creature.
Two this year. But that’s because I ate two King Cakes.
For the past couple of years, my old pastor will put a Mini-Jesus somewhere in his church, post a picture, and ask his parishioners to guess where He is.
Yes I have!! Went to the bathroom at my local bar and when I came back little Jesus was sitting right next to my beer. No harm, no bad intentions, just a little rubber or plastic Jesus. I think the bartender was in on it.
Guessing where Jesus stands.
Nice analogy.
The first one I ever saw was yesterday at The Meadows ice cream place in New Alexandria, PA. He was standing there on the register, looking very happy to be inside out of the Canadian wildfire smoke. He may have even blessed my custard.
I was recently on a cruise with my kids, and they were finding little ducks that other passangers and crew hid all over the ship. Being at sea, I had no internet, so I couldn’t look up and confirm that this is a popular trend across many cruise lines. Then at one point we found a little mini Jesus, and it made me think that the whole hidden duck thing was some sort of backdoor Christian thing, like tracts or whatever. Kinda soured me on it, but then we only ever found more ducks, and with this thread I am learning these are two totally separate trends.
Are you sure you weren’t in a large Jeep?
My sister made Christmas gifts some years back that included these - guess she was ahead of the fad. More recently, I’ve seen a couple in a bathroom at our marina. Weird.
I found Jesus when I went to the eye doctor. He was on the receptionist’s monitor.
I saw one recently perched on a window frame at the dentist.
Have a blessed filling.
Every time I take the lord’s name in vain at work someone leaves one at my desk.
It wasn’t even noon yesterday when I looked next to my keyboard. “5 times?!! Jesus Chri….”
They’d run out quick if they tried that on me (but I mutter).
I’ve only seen one tiny Jesus, on a coworker’s desk.
Two whole King Cakes? That’s one way to make sure you get the little baby. ![]()
ETA: I have seen zero mini Jesuses (Jesi?). It must not be a trend where I am.
Me neither. Thank goodness. That kind of religious trollery really annoys me.
Yeah, me, too.
Our church gives out pockets “Pocket Jesuses” at the local Pride Fest. They are always a big hit.
