He Hate Me FF keeper league

These are the players I’d like to keep this year:

QB D. Bledsoe (9th round pick)
RB W. Parker (11th round pick)
DEF Pittsburgh (12th round pick)

Does this mean that the picks will be my 6th, 8th and 9th round picks?

Weirddave, does Ventrilo take a lot of system resources? I’m considering it for my City of Villains supergroup, and I don’t want to see the game slow down because of it.

Post #2 shows when they were drafted last year, so you have to apply the two round penalty to what is listed.

eg: Stover can be kept in the 9th, Givens in the 6th and Davis in the 7th.

About teamspeak, I have no objection to it, but having no headphones and being on dialup, I wouldn’t participate. From what limited experience I’ve had (hearing the teamspeak chatter from a 16 player Halo session,) it might be more headache than value. Of course, there aren’t any 12 year olds here, so that would be a plus.

Close, but it’s a two round penalty, not three. So Bledsoe in the 7th, Parker in the 9th and Pittsburgh in the 10th.

I spent some time on my little utility over this past weekend, and think it would be useful to everyone in the league. It is designed to help formulate trade proposals, and also to track your team during the live draft. (Just yours; I’m the only one who needs to track every pick.)

I envision somebody getting to the final round thinking that their team is awesome based on what’s listed on the yahoo page, only to discover that one of their stud RBs was drafted for somebody else. Then they’re screwed.

And really, anybody who has traded multiple picks in the top 7 rounds, the yahoo team listing will be all but useless.

I need a volunteer to be a beta-tester for me. Who’s interested?

I’ll keep Boldin, 4 and Bryant, 10, I guess. Somebody make an argument about Brandon Lloyd. I’m trying to decide whether keeping two shaky late round receivers is better than keeping none at all.

I play World of Warcraft on an 800hmz PIII (Really! My system is the minimum required for the game, but I have a modern videocard and like 700 RAM, so it works fairly well. Crowded areas of the game induse a lot of lag and it takes me longer than almost anyone I know to log into the game, but it works. Most people are amazed that it does.), and I have no problems at all running Vent in the background on instance raids.

Well, I’m gonna keep Antonio Gates as my 8th round pick and, gee, I’m waffleing on this one, but I suppose I’ll go ahead and keep LJ as my 7th. Boy, I hope that’s not a reach.
When do I have to decide if I’m going to declare a 3rd keeper by?

(hehehe. My 7th and 8th round picks are the #1 RB and the #1 TE respectively. That’s not a bad start to the draft, is it?)

I’m a big fan of Brandon “Sticky Hands” Lloyd, but I think I’m in the minority on that one.

Isn’t Bryant on the 49ers now? Hey, at least Alex Smith can’t possibly suck worse than he did last year, right?

Next Tuesday.

You know you want to keep Baltimore in the 5th. Ed Reed is calling out to you…Dave!Dave!

For those trying to assemble trade offers, it’s confusing who has what picks now that several trades have been accepted. Here’s a list of who owns what picks as of right now:

New York Fanboys and Gone Pear Shaped have agreed to the following trade:

Ellis gives: 7.3 (87) + 8.13 (111) + 12.13 (167) - 415 value
Omni gives: 7.13 (97) + 8.2 (100) + 12.2 (49) - 413 value

I have no desire to spam the thread with a giant list of picks after every trade, but it is probably useful to include just the relevant owners. So here’s the updated lists for me and Omni:

Omni don’t need no stinkin’ snake draft! Seriously, I find it quite impressive that you’re drafting at the top of the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th rounds. (Though you’re hurting in the first two rounds.)

I hate you.

Thats what keepers are for!

If anyone is looking for a league (D_Odds), there is a spin off of this league.

Just for kicks I figured I’d declare my keepers now. Part of me wants to wait until the last minute to give you the minimum time to prepare, but my dumb ass would probably forget. Here we are.

Keeping:

2nd Round 2.14 (028): Thomas Jones (RB - CHI)
12th Round 12.13 (167): Kevin Curtis (WR - STL)
14th Round 14.2 (184): Dominic Rhodes (RB - IND)

Read 'em and weep kids.

Had the live draft in my long-standing money league this weekend. I thought I would post my team here for slings and arrows. 14 team leeague, prety standard yardage league rules, but passing and receiving TD’s are 4pts each, and turnover penalties (INT or FUMBLE) are only (-1). PK and DT are team selections, not individual players. I had the 10th selection, standard serpentine.

[ol]
[li]S. Jackson, STL[/li][li]T. Holt, STL[/li][li]K. Jones, DET[/li][li]C. Taylor, MIN[/li][li]D. Driver, GB[/li][li]M. Bell, DEN[/li][li]T. Gonzalez, KC[/li][li]A. Johnson, HOU[/li][li]B. Favre, GB[/li][li]J. Kitna, DET[/li][li]L. Coles, NYJ[/li][li]Giants, Team Kicker, NYG[/li][li]M. Barber, DAL[/li][li]Eagles[/li][li]M. Pollard, DET[/li][/ol]

A couple of interesting notes (at least to me):
[ul]
[li]Gonzo was the 7th TE taken (and I was glad to nab him in the 7th)[/li][li]Alexander went #1[/li][li]Peyton Manning, Steve Smith, and Chad Johnson were the only non-RB in round 1[/li][li]Ronnie Brown went before Cadilac (and before Rudi, Lamont, and Jackson)[/li][li]Reggie Bush went in round 2[/li][li]McCallister didn’t go until round 9[/li][li]One poor slob chose Curtis Martin and Koren Robinson with back-to-back picks. I almost felt sorry for him.[/li][li]T.O. went before Randy Moss or Larry Fitzgerald[/li][li]No WB’s in round 2. Brady and Palmer went in round 3[/li]Despite the fact that I can get no love for him as keeper trade bait in this league, Terry Glenn went in round 5. (In general, WR went early in this years draft. I admit to being unsure why, but it let me stockpile a stable of starting RB’s)
[/ul]
I feel pretty good about the team overall. I took a chance on waiting to draft a QB, but with the lighter penalty for INT’s I think Favre can still put up decent points. I’d love some objective feedback, though.

As much as I like Steven Jackson, under no circumstance is he the 10th best option in any league. Dropped the ball on that one. Cadillac would have been a better choice as would Rudi Johnson.

Kevin Jones and Chester Taylor as your 2nd RB options is a cry for help, there’s no other way to slice it.

Andre Johnson and Tony Gonzales are superb values, though I have zero confidence in Herman Edwards ability to utilize Gonzo.

I think Kitna will start more games for you than Favre will.

You best pick by a landslide was Marion Barber, Parcells will use him loads. Additionally, whoever landed Maroney is going to win your league.

You’re telling me that you took Chester Taylor ahead if Deuce as your 3rd RB option? Seriously? How the fuck did you dominate this league…

Frankly, without seeing the rest of the teams in this league, I have concluded that you will be in the bottom 4 teams. Two caveats: 1) You’ve won this league twice so you’re opinion is probably better than mine. 2) You’ve picked players exclusively from teams I expect to flounder this season, and as such I think those values are poor. Others will certainly disagree.

Rudi went at 8. I did take Jackson over Caddy & I’m a Bucs fan who has watched every snap of their preseason.

Deuce is splitting time with a back who is the only box office draw on a pathetic team. He’s also in his first year back from ACL surgery. I’m not happy with Jones as my second RB, but I’ll take Taylor over Deuce and thank you for the opportunity.

Luck, how else?

Something to do with players from teams in the NFC North, perhaps?
You’re such a homer.

Oh – and if the Kitna lottery hits I will win the league.

As far as homers go, he’s a piker.

Welcome back to the SDMB. Or at least to this thread. It’s been weeks since I actually browsed the forums; it got to the point where instead of having favorite links to all the forums, I now have a favorite link directly to new posts in this thread. It’s much more efficient. heh.

I was running some mock drafts yesterday, and I’m heartened to see some similarity between my mocks and your actual draft. However, your draft makes me think I’ll be doing the Grandaddy Of All Reaches with several of my picks. Feely in the 12th? Coles in the 11th? Well, at least I traded my picks down a little first. Yeesh!

Just call me Homer McReachalot.

As far as defense goes, I think the Eagles are in for a long year. Both Dallas and the Giants look to hang some points on them a couple times. Not to mention the Colts…

Commissioner Note:

Don’t forget, today (Monday the 28th) is the deadline for trading away keepers with impunity. After midnight tonight, trading away a keeper will cost you one of your three keeper slots.

Trading just draft picks is unaffected by today’s deadline; it’s still open season on that. (You can trade draft picks through the end of the live draft.)

I was shocked that Coles lasted so long, actually. For Feely, eh? Kickers never seem to go early in this league. I think Viniateri went first at teh end of round 10.
