Yikes, I put up an absolutely pathetic score. Got cute and decided to start Newton over Stafford which cost me 20 points. But mostly my team just laid a turd. Well, Swift was knocked out early in a game. I might not score 40 points.
After starting the season 6-1 I’ve had a terrible run and may miss the playoffs.
I have the highest (152) and lowest (32) scores this season.
You had some bye week help with that low score, but that’s even more impressive than Omni winning a game!
If I’m looking at the standings correctly, I think I’ve clinched a playoff spot, and I’ll get the #1 seed if I win either of my next two.

Interestingly, my team has been hyper-consistent all year. I’ve scored at least 87 points every week (the lowest floor of any team by some margin), and over 110 in seven weeks, but I haven’t scored more than 127 points all year.
I’m only 5 points behind Bort for the top overall score, and if I beat him this week I will presumably become the highest-scoring team. Unfortunately, if I don’t beat him I probably won’t make the playoffs. The only other game between playoff contenders this week is Beef/Hamlet, and Beef’s team appears to be in the middle of an epic collapse. The only competitive games next week are between me and Hamlet, and dale and bort. So in theory everyone with a 7-5 or better record could win both weeks, except for me, Beef and Hamlet (and bort losing won’t help me unless I win both games anyway). If that happens, and I lose, I would probably end up on the outside looking in.
Munch must have annoyed the FF gods immensely because something similar happened to him last year as well - he finished with 1318.03 points, just 4.5 less than the #2 scoring team, but he had a final record of 7-6 and missed the playoffs. Wilson made the playoffs with the same record and a final score of 1318.75, and I made the playoffs with 1289 points and an 8-6 record. (For what it’s worth, both Wilson and I were booted in the first round.)
It was worse than that. I missed the tiebreaker by 0.64 points to make the playoffs. 7 yards across the entire season.
Mathematical weirdness continues to abound. I will knock off bort comfortably this week, making me the points leader and elevating me to third place, but I still won’t be guaranteed a playoff spot. Dale, Beef (or Hamlet) and Munch are all going to win this week, and Wilson is a game ahead of me. So next week, we will all be tied at 8-5 for “second”, with bort and Mundi tied for first at 9-4. None of the 8-5 teams play each other next week, so they can all win, and they are all favored to win. If I lose to Hamlet and they do all win, they will all jump to 9-5 and I will drop to 7th place and out of the playoffs (or possibly to 8th, if Hamlet beats me by a lot).
However, if I beat Hamlet and dale beats bort, I will leapfrog the latter and earn a bye. Despite a massive points lead I can’t jump Mundi because he beat me head-to-head, and H2H record is the first tiebreaker. So I could either earn a bye or a consolation bowl trip next week. Not a great time for Jonathan Williams’ bye…

- Total fantasy points (season total).
- Fantasy points scored in the most recently completed matchup.
- Fantasy points scored in the matchup two weeks prior (this continues until the tie is broken).
The H2H records this year are remarkably close. 10 teams are 9-4, 8-5, or 7-6.
You should be docked points for not even knowing your best player’s last name.
And I think it’s a great time for his bye.
Ugh, pretty much the worse case scenario for me last week. I lost, #2 won, and I fell to 3rd in points. I could go from 1st to 4th this week.
I was going to do the playoff scenarios today but it turns out I’m too busy. If anyone else wants to figure that out, that’d be great.
I’m pretty sure that if I win, I’m in, as the only person behind me with the same record is 200 points behind me. But with so many teams at 8-5 or 7-6, the last few spots are going to be competitive.
