Hell Week in the MMP

**MetalMouse **- My great-nephew (grand-nephew?) is the son of two jocks. He’s already adept at throwing and catching a little soccer ball. I expect him to become a little jock fireplug - there are a lot of short genes in his bloodline!

I’ve got the dishwasher washing and I whipped up a batch of sauce to dump over the spinach ravioli that I decided we’re having for supper. My electric blanket has been out on the clothesline most of the day. I’m sure it’s dry, so it’s time to bring it in and stow it for the season. The chores never end… <pose of woe and exhaustion>

Where do you think George R. R. Martin got his ideas for Game of Thrones?

Sorry about your troubles Sunny. Seems like there should be some legal recourse for MIL’s situation. If you were still in Orygun I’d say you should write a letter to the State Attorney General. I did once and they were very helpful.

It’ll be a quiet day here at Castle Bumba. We forgot to get milk yesterday, so that’s on the agenda, plus I need to look for a specialized router bit at the adult playground (hardware store.) I may go out and have another go at the ground hornets. They don’t act like they’ve been sufficiently poisoned, or maybe they’ve just gotten resistant.

Y’all have a good week.

Back home after wickend away; lil cousin was kind enough to share his germies with everyone :frowning: Otherwise, it went well with the offspring being formally introduced & actually enjoying hanging out.

I’ve seen this lots of times (professionally); if you (or MiL) are willing to press charges than many of the institutions will return funds to her. Not a good situation either way.

Which company did you use?

Oh.
[Emily Litella]Nevermind[/Emily Litella] :o

Bees in general, not those specific bees, though.

Napped to get ready for soccer practice, need to dress in about a half-hour. Meanwhile I cleaned the bathroom (well, the tub and the toilet at least), so I did a small start to my “you haven’t done this stuff in way too long” list. More tomorrow.

Howdy Y’all! I spiffed da cave this mornin’ and then donned appropriate goin’ about the public attire and scored cheap chawklit at :eek:Wally*World:eek:, Walgreen’s, and CVS. All are located fairly close to each other. We supped upon leftovers and all is well.

MetalMouse I shipped my via the USPS in the postage paid envelop provided. I wonder how long it will to find out the results.

flytrap, you’re right. You obviously aren’t a dairy farmer. :stuck_out_tongue: Milking gets done morning and evening.

{{{sunny and crew}}}

nut, I thought of you today when I heard a piece on NPR about the bees of Notre Dame. It seems that they (or at least some of them) survived the fire. Bees on Notre Dame rooftop survive this week's devastating fire - CNET

To answer the OP, to alleviate stress, I’ll hang with my dog (given that he isn’t the cause of it :stuck_out_tongue: ), jam with friends or play around with something new in the studio. Sometimes, it’s picking up a good book.

I met my new manager at irk today, however briefly. I also impressed my boss by finding the reason that an area that isn’t mine is short ~$60K worth of inventory. Given the circumstances, I think we can fix it without hitting the shrinkage account.

Twas a beautiful day in middle Tennessee, even though I was inside for most of it. Once home,I put a load of clothes in the wash, vaccuumed and took Nelson out to the patio for some reading and surfing the net.

I’m more than willing to press charges, but she won’t agree. I talked to my husband and he doesn’t want to do it either (it’s his brother). Family is complicated sometimes.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 54 Amurrkin out and clear (dark) with a predicted high of 87 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today I shall do laundry and go over to the church house to take care of some [del] church janitor[/del] Junior Warden duties. Sup shall be ham 'n cheese omelets, grits, and bizkits. That will take care of the rest of the ham plus be relatively easy to make so there’s that.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Back at my desk. Holy crap, stuff really piles up when you’re off 4 days in a row! It’ll take an hour just to sort and prioritize! Good thing I love my job!

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Toosday!

I got up early today because somebody was scratching at my bedroom door. I called down to my son to tell him Ripple wanted to go out, but instead Ripple just wanted to lay in the hallway. So I got up to see what he wanted, and he jumped on the bed and went back to sleep.
I guess he wanted me to get up, so I am.

It’s a chilly 48 degrees outside - funny how a month ago 48 was warm - and supposed to get up to 81 today.

Don’t know what I am going to do today. There is always something to do, I have a long list.

Blurf.

Assignments finally basically finished- I’ve been having to leave it 'cos the stats module we did last year was, not to put too fine a point on it, a bit crap. What we covered in that was not suitable for the data I’ve got, and I needed to do some statistical analysis as part of the write up for my major project. I’ve been staring at the stupid thing for weeks, thinking ‘This ain’t right, I shouldn’t be doing this analysis’ but not knowing what I should be doing. Oh, and of course it was Easter break, so none of the teechers were around to ask questions. I also heavily suspect that they might not know the answers… We don’t have a proper stats person there.

As it happens though, I do have a friend who’s a stats lecturer at another university, who had said I could ask her for some help if I needed. Unfortunately, she was away on holiday, so I had to wait until she got back to get the ‘Yep, that was wrong, you should be doing this, and they really should have told you what to do in that situation, what did they even teach you’ talk. But, it’s all done now bar the picking through and maybe re-wording things. This is the tiny plant experiment I’ve been working on since about September; there’s one more element to hand in, but this is the major chunk of the marks for the biggest module of the year, so I wanted it to be done right dagnammit, even if they weren’t going to make it easy.

Anyway, lunch time. I shall eat some leftover pasta bake, then I shall head out for a bit. I wanted to pick some more wild garlic while it’s out, as I lurves the stuff, and I’ve been sat in for all the sunny weather working on skool stuff, so I need to blow the cobwebs out my brain.

A couple weeks ago I stumbled in the bathroom and actually landed very hard on the toilet seat while grinding my back into the corner of the tank. It hurt but whatever. Now I am in the suffering stage with the back. It does not hurt constantly, just when I move a certain way and it grabs me nearly putting me on the floor. This should have healed by now. Dammit. I ain’t got time for this BS. Since I have an appointment to get my hairs done, I would have left irk early today anyway so I just took the day off. I have dosed myself with ibuprofen and painkillers and shall try to find the sweet spot and just lay here a while.

Tomorrow I have my first set of knee shots and will have the Dr. check out my thumb which just up and decided to feel broke. If this is what getting old is like I don’t know if I wanna.

I turned in my budget so that’s the last big thing and stressor that I know of. We continue to be super busy but it should slow down for May then all hell breaks loose for June and July. Once I get through the first few days of May and first of month crap done I think I shall take a week off to do nothing. In August I shall go somewhere if only up into the mainland for a change of scenery.

Sunny I am so happy Star is adapting. Dogs are so resilient and just want to be near their people. She will do great. I saw the FB photo of her smiling.

Canes won last night, and I’m off today. I shall do laundry.

Dump as needed. And yay for Star!

It is a wonder that there aren’t more celibate creatures in the animal kingdom.

so sort of like 6 legged Millennial children?:D;):stuck_out_tongue:

Ouch, Butters! Feel better. And I’m getting a change of scenery in August, too.

Morning all. I’ve been up for awhile but have not been constructive and have nothing to report. 71F already so it looks to be a warm day.

Sunny, didn’t know family was that close. Let the gambled mooch off his brother, through, and I bet hubbie changes his tune. Try to do the best for Mom.

Butters, if the occasional pain continues, you might want to have it checked out.

Nut, congrats on the assignment completion; known you’ll do well.

Sari, Ripple is a pretty smart pooch…

Ah, time to break my fast.

{{{Sunny}}} Easter is a time of rebirth and new promises. Hopefully things start looking up, and I’m glad your Easter was pleasant.

The tooth is finally feeling better. I had my root canal yesterday, and I’m feeling like a new human. The tooth in front of it is still taking more pressure than it did before, but the endodontist said that will adjust. Plus, he’s going to tell the dentist what kind of adjustment to do when they put in the permanent filling after that root canal. I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after a month of pain.

Roxy is running a fever, and no one is sure why. She was scheduled for her 1-year checkup and shots, but since her temp was high, they scheduled her for a follow-up on Friday. Two doctors looked at her and neither could find anything wrong, apart from her being hot and one cheek looking a bit droopy. She’s eating and drinking and playing as usual, in good spirits and all. They think it might be related to an inner ear infection, but for now, they say to watch and see.

Daughter called and asked me to pick up a couple of things for her on the way home. Meanwhile, I (obviously) don’t have to pick up the baby after work.

Other than that, busy busy busy, and now that lunch is done, back to being busy again. It’s one of them days…

Finally called the plumber, we just can’t get the sink to drain anymore.
They are coming tomorrow.
Then I called the management company so it hopefully won’t take a week to get the work approved.
Then I had to call irk to see what was the best way to take time off. They changed the bonus requirements and I wanted to make sure taking time off would not affect my bonus.

I have the windows open but it is so noisy outside, the gas company is replacing the gas lines on my side of the street now. Ripple is supervising from his window, and letting them know he is on guard duty.

True; but the one we use allows us to incorporate the dancing as well.
Irk is even more irksome during a short week when you really really want to be going going gone! Oh well, since I had Maryland duty again and I know some of those people ---------

Howdy Y’all! I have completed laundry duty and taken care of some stuff over to the church house. Some lights are out in the narthex of the Parish hall, the office work room, the men’s room in the Parish hall, and the kitchen. These are all the tube light thingies which are not a lot of trouble to replace. However, it does require orderin’ said lights which has been done. They get shipped to the church and then I get to replace 'em. Rah. For now, however, chill time until time to make sup.

Overnight, I got some bad ‘news’; my father only has days to live; of course, when I woke up, I realized that that ‘news’ was a couple of years old. Weird.
