I Might Be Starting The MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and cloudy (dark) with a predicted high of 68 and rain this mornin’. Or not. TWPTB seem all willy-nilly on that. Today’s plan of action is to spiff da cave and take a load of stuff over to the church house that I am donatin’ to the big yahd sale this weekend. I shall not be at said yahd sale cause I don’t like yahd sales, but I will contribute. Lowe’s delivered stuff yestiddy afternoon so I have a flat of tiles and other assorted stuff for bathroom redo sittin’ in the garage. This will commence tomorrow. Should be a sorta messy week here at da cave but the end result will be worth dealin’ with the mess. I took a beastloaf outta da freezer last night. That and whatever else I decide will be supped upon tonight.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah!

Happy Moanday Y’all!

For whatever reason, my coworkers have shifted to a later schedule, leaving me here alone for longer stretches in the morning. It’s not a huge deal, but it is kinda weird.

Nothing exciting in the offing so far. Just another day/week in paradise. We might see spring by the end of the week, but today won’t get out of the 40s. Stoopit weather.

Thus beginneth the week. Happy Moanday!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Back to work.

Moooommmmmm!!!, according to the long rage forecast, I might get up to 72 hours of Spring at the end of the week.:dubious:

Morning all. Another week, this one hopefully drier than the past weekend.

Not a lot on the schedule except soccer practice. I also need to write a ‘promotional’ letter to try and get more kids to volunteer to referee. A lot of our refs are in their 50’s and 60’s like me, and we can use some ‘new blood’ in our ranks before we get to much older. I have a plan in mind, but getting it committed to paper has always been a weakness. Once I get started I’m fine, it’s taking that first step…

Speaking of paper, I also did a terlet paper check and I have 32 rolls in reserve; hopefully that meets swampy’s minimum requirements.

So moving along with the day.

I swear I posted this morning but it ain’t here. I got Cocoa Puffs for breakfast in memory of Chuck McCann, the voice of Sonny.

Can one make Cocoa Puffs treats the way one would make Rice Krispie treats? Are the puffs small enough to be good to eat or it the Krispie size essential?

Maybe for the seldom used guest bathroom, but surely not for the whole house.
::Readies fainting couch for Da Bear::

Worse case, you could crumble 'em up a bit.

Cocoa Krispies work better.

Can’t believe it’s almost 10:30.

Boss was dismayed that our 3 youngest employees never heard of Gumby. So goeth the morning.

Spidey I also need pearls to clutch. :stuck_out_tongue: Betty Crocker does all kinds of things with Cocoa Puffs[sup]TM[/sup]

Go shuck yourself.

Happy Moonday!

It’s been a rough morning.
I woke up too early, and it’s cold outside.

Lots to do and so need to get at it.

Getting ready to leave for work. This week already -------- a coworker is missing and being sought after by the police. No idea if its just she walked away from her home or if its something bad. Her badge image is what the officials are using for the news stories. She’s my age and we worked together a lot during the holiday season and a lot of us are worried but TPTB won’t allow it to be discussed at Da Jungle. Its been 5 days now with no word and the concern level is mixed but the silence is torture. :frowning:

We have snow.

Where’d everybody go?

Had a interesting day (at least for me). Ate at Jimmy John’s, then got my hair cut (the barber did a great job and gave me the senior rate, even if I’m 10 days away from turning 65), then went to see at movie at the 'discount (second-run)" place. Saw The Death of Stalin, which can only be described as a ‘dark comedy’, and I’m sure more than a few historians would have fits about it, but I enjoyed in nonetheless.

Need to get get changed for my coaching duties here in a few minutes. Absolutely beautiful day, 67F and sunny with just a little breeze in the air.

ruble, got my fingers crossed for your colleague, but it doesn’t sound good. Hope it ends well.

Sari, it is April 9th. The word ‘snow’ is banned unless you live in Alaska.

It can’t be easy, can it?

FIL fell on his face, fracturing a cheekbone, around his eye, and his nose. They’re getting ready to transfer him to a trauma center. **FCD **is leaving in the morning to be with his folks, plus he can check up on our daughter.

I’ve booked a flight for Saturday from BWI to Orlando. If my daughter goes into labor before then, I’ll change my reservation. If not, I’ll have some extra time down there before and after. So we shall see. One of my sisters lives a few miles from BWI, so I’ll leave my car there and have her drop me off, thereby saving a fortune in parking fees.

I’m glad he’s going down to help out his parents, but I hate flying - it’s such a hassle… Oh well…

Howdy Y’all! I spiffed da cave, well, somewhat. We supped upon beast loaf, smashed N.O.T., green beans, and rolls. Not very imaginative but good nonetheless. Bathroom remodel got started today. Those who know me over on the book of faces can see the pics I posted.

Ruble Dang! Here’s hopin’ for the best.

Don’t make me clutch my pearls!

Greetings from Alaska, apparently, where we had snurries when I left irk.

Not what I was expecting, you swine (but how appropriate today’s is). :stuck_out_tongue:

Ruble why won’t TPTB let you discuss this at work? It seems odd.

Thank you for the report. I’ve been curious about the movie.

Moomm sorry to hear about your FiL. Are you leaving your job entirely at this point, or just taking a leave? I can’t remember what your plan is. Safe travels to FCD and you.

We survived the stompocalypse this weekend. It was pouring and windy through late yesterday. Today is sunny and mid-sixties. Tomorrow it drops back down to the fifties, and we have rain for at least a week. I’m trying to decide whether it’s safe to plant my tomatoes yet. We have few nights in the thirties, but I don’t see any freezes ahead. Decisions, decisions.

I’m trying a grocery pick up service. No one here does a delivery, but one store is now offering to pick up everything on the list and bring it out to the car, which will be a huge help for me.

**Sunny **- I won’t quit working till my daughter and her husband have jobs - that’s when they’ll need grandma-daycare. I’ve got 80 hours of leave right now, so I’m good for a couple of weeks.

ancient Chinese secret … you can adapt any cereal you desire to the rice krispies treats recipe

mom used to used cut up froot loops when we were bored with the normal

Sorry**** about FIL Mmmooommmmm. It is so hard when they get old and frail.

My day of being alone was OK. I guess the craziness of last week was due to the holiday. I was pleasantly surprised at not being too busy today. My only clerk had to go to California to send off her MIL who passed a couple weeks ago. ‘Tis just me for two weeks. I have a new lady starting soon but she will not be any help for a while. So, I shall be an overpaid clerk for two weeks.

Leftover sketties for supper. And beer.
