Hell Week in the MMP

As expected, woke up still sore from yesterday, so watching soccer and Marvel films on the TV (plan to see Endgame on Tuesday once the madness has died down). Preparing a shopping list for tomorrow for the Great May Stockup. Down to my last 12 rolls of Toilet Paper, so before **swampy ** needs his faintin’ couch, I will restock that.

The last dermatologist I saw suggested this stuff for my excema. It won’t cure anything but helps me with the itching.
And then my PCP prescribed this stuff, in an ointment, which he uses for his excema. It does help clear up ugly skin patches for me.

Oven roasted chicken is a thing unto itself, and a thing of beauty and a joy for about 20 minutes.
BTW, I have been told, in no uncertain terms, that Arkansas is NOT in the south. The bestest fried chicken I personally have ever had was cooked by my much beloved aunt, who was born and raised in Michigan. YMMV

We lost the damn war. :dubious:

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, did our gourmet brunch (I went wild and got the steak and aigs!), went to the dollah sto’, back to da cave, achieved nappage, and I cleaned the bathrooms just cause. Also I have hauled both my and my neighbor’s (she’s out of town) biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans all the way down the road for pickup tomorrow. Not bad for a Sunday. Also, I took some already smoked ribs outta da freezer for tomorrow’s sup. I’m thinkin’ baked beans and N.O.T. sallit as sides. I really want some N.O.T. sallit.

The Thai-Lao festival was fun. I’s full and tahred!

I did take Nelsom to the dog park when I came home. Everybody else had the same idea, co he had a lot of playmates.

I saw Endgame Friday. I enjoyed it very much, but I can see why people want to see it twice. There’s a lot going on for a 3-hour movie.

Yesterday I drove 'Beamette down the the old neighborhood to meet up with some friends. I think we got home after 1 am. Since I used all the spoons AND took out an advance to do it, I am completely hosed today. A nice coma sounds lovely.

Happy Sunday y’all.

How do you keep people off a trail that’s been deemed so dangerous that it needs to be closed? By posting that you are going to close it. :smack: Glen Onoko Falls trail is being (supposedly) permanently closed this week due to the number of deaths & injuries that have occurred on it over the years. Yes it is a strenuous hike, but don’t be stoopit, stay behind the marked like to get your selfie & you will make it home in one piece.

Was going to go there today but as of last night the forecast looked lousy; 90% chance of rain (& scrambling over wet rocks ain’t the best of ideas); however, TWBTB were wrong! Imagine that. The revised forecast looked better & better today, so I went. Lotsa people there, some idjits too. Some woman had her kid in a baby backpack, complete with sun canopy over it. Canopy musta been 1’ over her head. Momma ducked under some branch; kid got whapped in the face with said branch because Momma didn’t duck far enough. Baby backpacks are good for easy/moderate hiking but definitely not for this hike. I even caught my pack a time or two & it’s only 2-3" off of my back. Of course, there was nothing living it in so it didn’t matter nearly as much. ::SMH::

I didn’t say I agreed with 'em. :stuck_out_tongue:

My paternal great grandparents lived in Arkansas, so I’ve been there a time or two.
I believe they might have been l’il Abner and Daisy Mae when they were younger, but not as funny.

T-minus 14 payments left to pay off the house, it’ll put us in the strange (after raising three boys, paying for private school and college) position of actually seeing a retired future, we were exiled to upstate NY for a great opportunity 21 years ago, I love my job, I love what I do, but the thought of being able to move back in a southernly direction to live where we want is pretty overpowering…Mrs. White and I are fixing up the house in not-so-much anticipation of selling and moving in five years, more just to be in the position to do so if we desire…frankly, with $10K in freaking property and school taxes every year, we can live a lot cheaper in other areas of the country…probably not back to dear Merryland although I love dem O’s and Ravens, hon, our thoughts are to further south…near a beach…and maybe it’s morbid, but I’ll be 57 this summer, my Dad died at 67, his father at 68, I want to have some with Mrs. White for us to enjoy considering we’ve worked our butts off…not sure it’ll happen, but something to plan for…
