Hello Faddah - MMP For Dad

**McUNE **-- your hair is lovely!

**Taters **-- I realize it really is annoying, but somehow having the problem “all my clothes are suddenly too big on me” is something I think I could deal with… Just means you’ve really managed to do a good job losing weight

Yay for Nava’s DSL!!

Other than that, I got nuttin’

My sweetie is on his way home. Dusting is done. Critters are fed. I’m being lazy, tho I should do something. Some time… Maybe…

I realize my problems could be worse Lunch, but it sucks that I just can’t go right out and buy some clothes to fit me right now. My wardrobe is limited right now because I have very few clothes that fit me properly. I realize I could be going the OTHER way, and find my clothes becoming too tight.

If I was more financially comfortable, I’d head on down to Macys or somewhere to get me some new duds. As it is, I’m hesitant to even go out and get some clothes because even the newer clothes I bought with my gift cards just a couple, few weeks ago, are becoming a little loose on me.

The thing is, I’m not even dropping so much weight in anymore, I seem to be dropping lots of inches though. I’m dropping a pound here and there now, but not like I was.

Hm, I’m still feeling hungry. I thought the hungry feeling would pass, but it hasn’t. I think I’ll go find a cheesestick or something.

Location line!

Jake on the flowers Rebo! That trifle sounds good. I’m guessin’ it’s a kinda improvised thing with no real recipe. I may attempt it soon. Especially since soon I will have local peaches. NUMMMMMMMM!!!

Dindin was teh good! I’s stuffed. We’s stuffed acutally. Although ol’ y’all know who is eyein’ that half gallon of Bluebell niller ice cream with strawberries he found in the freezer. Nosy! Goin’ in my freezer like that. Oh and I gotta go make cheesestraws. I’m gettin’ sad puppy dawg eyes about savin’ some. It’s so keeeeeeeeyoooooooote when he does that. Of course I am savin’ some for him. Even without sad puppy dawg eyes I’d do it.

Ok, off to make cheesestraws. I shall report in later.

I’ve been home for about 1/2 an hour and need to do the map for our garden tour tomorrow. Streetview might be helpful for that. My house, at least, is on there. With my car in the driveway and bags of mulch under my tree. I know we have to re-route people to one of our stops and it’s in a neighborhood I don’t know very well, so I’ll be experimenting with Streetview to check out some of the landmarks.

Your hair is VERY pretty, McUne. The curl looks like the kind that some people get on purpose. I have very curly hair and, fortunately, like it as long as it’s pretty short.

I’ve never had 'mater sandwiches, but I love BLTs. I have everything but the bread. Maybe I’ll go out and procure some.

Off to put directions together for tomorrow…and maybe to go to the grocery for a second…

GT

well, I said goodbye to the cubby that was home for a little over 5 years. Two huge boxes of office stuff and the equivalent of 3 more of personal stuff (which we had to transport ourselves because the moving company is not insured for that) We used to use in house guys for the move, and could pack personal things - oh well <sigh>

Monday morning will be a real communte on highway, and a fight to get the good blue spots (there are 6 right next to the building, pleny of others, but those add a good 100 to 600 yards to the walk, which for most folk is no big deal, but, well, you’ve heard about my maladies often enough.) They’re trating us to breakkies Monday - but it will be carbs, carbs, carbs, a choice of carbs, and a side of carbs. aka “continental breakfast” - I’ll pick up some protein in the food court on the way up.

now I am home and wiped out, so I’m going to surf for an hour, let the vicoden kick in, and take a nap before I get up t take my night meds.

see ya tomorrow

I ended having to run to the grocery store, but do you think I remembered bacon and 'maters? Noooo, I did not. :smack: Bah! It must mean that I shouldn’t have one. Just for shits and giggles, I bought five dollars worth of lottery tickets for the state lotto. Can’t win if you don’t play…

I did manage to pick up the rest of the ingredients I needed to make Thai coconut chicken tonight. I hope it’s good. It’s another recipe from the Weight Watchers Flex Point cookbook.

Swampy, I want some of those cheese straws! Why can’t you live up here, dammit?! Oh sure, I guess I could make them, but I’m sure they wouldn’t have your special touch.

Oh, it’s currently 81 degrees here, but it’s kind of muggy. This will probably be our one day of summer.

Today at work was brutal and it shouldn’t have been. I was just so tired, that I did stupid things that were embarrassing to me. Things like sending up a pt to OR w/o a hx and px or any labs. And then I couldn’t remember how to fix this one kind of surgical drain that I had to teach the family. And I got flustered in front of the family. Gah.

I came home and took a short nap. I am either losing my mind, have early Alzheimer’s or too much stress. Or all 3 at once. I am so glad I am off for the next 5 days.

Annoying Coworker partially thawed to me earlier today and then froze up again later in the afternoon. I, of course, am devastated to be back on ice…

It’s supposed to rain here now–the sky is dark grey, the wind has picked up, but nothing. Come on, rain!

Hugs to all who need them. Rosie–moving sucks, whether home or office.

Taters--although I wish I had your problem, I can understand the frustration. Can you take some of the clothes in to be altered? It’s usually fairly reasonable.

I may completely veg out tonight and watch bad TV. We (I) cannot find the DVD remote which allows us to watch movies on our DVD player, so that’s out. Guess who had it last? TH. Grrrrr. I think that some homicides are just (actually, I’m too tired to much care one way or another at this point; I’m just being funny.)

Taters I don’t know so much about special touch. It’s the willingness to stand there and actually mix up the dough by hand (I prefer to do it that way for cheesestraws, go figure, me with the f-aaaaaa-bu-lous Mixmaster) and press out bazillions of approximately one inch little cheesestraws using the star tip on a cookie press. I made actual cheesestraws as opposed to cheese crisps which is the recipe I contributed to the Mumpers recipe blog. To make cheesestraws, just omit the Rice Krispies. Also, check on 'em after ten minutes in the oven cause it does not take long for 'em to get that “golden” color.

Anywho, cheesestrawage has been accomplished. Ol’ y’all know who is in the process of scarfin’ down his special batch. I told him not to eat all of ‘em at once, especially since he’s also had ice cream. Sometimes it’s like dealin’ with a ten year old. His batch consists of about a forth of the remains of the second batch I made. I added more cayenne pepper before makin’ ‘em, so they have a definite kick. That’s what I prefer but bein’ as the ones I made for the reception tomorrow will be consumed by lots of proper Whiskypalians includin’ blue haired LOLs I held back on the cayenne for those.

rigs don’t beat yourself up for doin’ what you consider stupid stuff. They should not make nurses or for that matter any medical professionals do a turn around shift like you did today. Tiredness had a lot to do with that. The hospital should know how to schedule better than that. So, a wet trout upside the haid to the schedulers, I say.

Ok, off to check out what else is up on the dope.

I’m sorry you had such a bad day at work, rigs. You’ve definitely had way more than your fair share of stress to deal with lately, and frankly, the scheduler shouldn’t have scheduled you for today after having had to work yesterday evening (night?).

So, the thai coconut chicken turned out pretty decently. I’ll make it again sometime.

**Mr. Taters ** is upstairs getting ready for his “guys night out”. I’ll be here bored out of my skull. My son is going to the movies to see Get Smart, and my daughter has firmly ensconced herself upstairs in the bonus room, so I probably won’t see her the rest of the night.

Swampy, see, your willingness to go that extra mile for the cheese straws is what gives them that special touch. I still say you need to move up here and be my neighbor.

It’s still hot here. I’m not complaining, we’ve had such a cold June, that I can deal with today’s temps. It would be nice if it continued throughout the weekend, but I don’t think it’s supposed to last much past tomorrow afternoon sometime.

That’s nice to hear–thanks. But I feel I let myself down–I didn’t “nurse” up to my standards, but I’m over it.

Apparently #1 son called this morning (I missed him–I was at work) :frowning: . The camera lens fell out (of the new digital camera), so now he is cameraless.

I hope he buys disposables. I wish I could have talked to him. Also, Daughter has called twice and I’ve been at effing work. I have left her 2 voice mails.

This growing up and away is weird…
I’m off to do nothing. The rain came for a bit–it’s nice and cool here now. Yay!

We’re always hardest on ourselves, rigs. I’ve been told numerous times that I’m my own worst critic and I’m sure you’re the same way.

I’m glad you’re over it. Tomorrow is a new day, and you’ve got the added bonus of having the next five days off.

One of my favorite things to do while playing mindless solitaire games is to sing along with my Broadway collection.
Mame is just finishing up - the final note in Gooch’s song is, like, a high G or maybe even an A (I don’t know what key the song is in) and I used to be able to hit that note with clarity. Now, I’m lucky if I can manage a squeak that’s almost on pitch. :dubious: Have I mentioned I’m about to turn 50? I guess it’s true what they told me in all those voice classes. :sigh:

Daughter is home, exhausted but fed now. She’ll be here till Sunday morning. yay!

She’s doing laundry. We’re relaxing. Busy day tomorrow - construction in the basement, plus I have to take Bernie and Taz to the vet. Good times, good times.

Hi folks-

Everybody think happy thought for our son who will be having his Bar Mitzvah tomorrow.

I am proud of him beyond words.

Mr. Taters has taken off for his guys night out. My mother just called wanting to know if I’d be home, but I lied and told her no. I just do not feel like dealing with her tonight. I’ve had enough of family for now thankyewverymuch.

I’m waiting for my neighbor to get home. I figured we’d share a glass of wine or two. It’s something to do.

Congrats and happy thoughts for your son, Soapy!

Good thoughts headed your son’s way, Soapy! I know he’ll do a wonderful job!

I’m sorry you had such a bad day, Rigs. But I agree, it was totally the scheduler’s fault.

I can remember, when I was young, being able to hit the E above high C, Rosie. (Can you say “coloratura range”?) Alas, those days are loooong gone – now I can just make the G below high C, and even that isn’t easy. I probably could have kept more of my high range if I’d sang consistently through those years, but my singing career has been off and on. Which doesn’t help a lot.

I just stood there for five minutes, mesmerized, watching the new washer doing its thing through the window. It was so strange – it would spin a few times in one direction, then stop, then spin a few times in the other direction, and then repeat. Front-loaders certainly do have different cycles than top-loaders, don’t they? Also, I am easily amused, aren’t I? :dubious:

I have a serious lack of motivation this evening. Actually, I’ve had it all day, but it’s just getting worse. Why is all I want to do sleep? Didn’t I get enough sleep last night?

I’ve got my garden tour flyers done and printed. Also put away dishes and loaded some more stuff in the dishwasher.

I’m thinking the stress and lack of sleep are not a winning combination, rigsy.

I’m sure your son will do a great job, Soapy. We’ll await reports with bated breath, of course!

Really tired. I was going to pit the last of my cherries, but that’ll have to wait till tomorrow.

Hugs to all I’ve missed…

GT

The thought of you standing there watching the washing machine spin is amusing, MamaTigs. Though I do confess to having done the same thing when I was living in the condo with one. The only thing I really miss about that place – I vastly prefer being by myself, nice roommate or not – is that lovely washer and dryer.

I haven’t tried for an E above high C for a long time, but if I was properly warmed up, I think I could do it. I wonder if there’s any inexpensive voice teachers around here (yeah, right!). I’d like to start singing again, just for fun.

Soapy, I’ve been to a couple of bar mitzvahs, and came away vastly impressed with the young men in question. He’ll do great. And yes, we want a report afterwards!
