Mawnin all and Happy Humping Day, Happy Spaz Day and Houston is Completely Snow Free Day # 1000+.
I forgot to mention that we got a Tig welder at the shop yesterday. This means that we have Oxy/Acetelene, Mig, Tig and a Plasma Cutter. We have been talking about making a go-cart with two 1000cc motorcycle engines(no differential). What could go wrong?
Gotta get moving as I must finish the electrical project.
There is no snow here. We got a bit of drizzle last night, but today shall be partly cloudy. Not that it matters to me; my office doesn’t have a window. I leave for work in the dark and go home in the dark.
I am here at the slave pit and I don’t want to be here. Thank goodness tomorrow is my Friday.
We’re having a pre-Superbowl potluck here tomorrow. I shall have to find some Seahawk colored clothes to wear because I don’t own any official (or even non-official) Seahawk gear. I looked into game jerseys. Uh, I am not pay $120 bucks for a jersey. They’re cool and all, but I can’t justify it right now.

Forget that each engine spins the same way, and your cart will go rapidly in circles. Other than that, two engines and differential throttle rather than a steering wheel (like a tank or zero-turn lawn tractor) should make for a fun ride.
That’s above and beyond the usual collection of redneck welding escapades like welding on things that contain gasoline (Boom!), no eye protection other than squinting (Hey, where’d everyone go?) or just being no good at it and making welds that are as ugly as a mud fence.

Mebbe you should test Shark-a-pult out with a vertical launch first. Drae, is you okay in an aeroplane? If so, you’ll be fine in the balloon. To those follks who say they are scared of heights, we always tell 'em to give it five minutes; we’ve only ever landed & let someone out once.
Happy birthday, Spaz.
And sending loads of anti-sick to the Swampbear.
I got to work an hour later than normal - nothing had been done to any road on the drive that didn’t have an I-64 in the title. Can’t wait until this evening when the partially melted snow turns back into ice. Should create an interesting bumpercar effect on the trip home.
Who spends $2500 for a vacuum cleaner?? I don’t know that I’ve ever spent $200 and they’ve all seemed to suck up the crud just fine.
We cleared our driveway - it took around an hour or so. Fortunately, the snow was very light and dry - we were able to push most of it off to the side. Far easier on the ol’ backs, you know! This is the first time in 3 years we’ve had to shovel. I’m guessing the guy who was going to come clear for us has forgotten us. Oh well…
The county had plowed our 3 streets already - I am so impressed by the road-clearing folks here. They really do a heck of a job! We went out for a late breakfast, and the main drag was just wet, even drying in some spots.
I won’t have any excuse to skip work tomorrow, but I do need to go in anyway - losing 2 days’ pay will bite bad next payday.
Thanks for the well wishes and get betters y’all. I et some N.O.L. just to get sump’n in my tummy. Still feelin’ ick. I just may bag it in a little bit and go to da cave.
I did not read the parts I was not supposed to read. Really. Honest. I promise.

Rainbows are expensive little things. It will be interesting to pit it against our flock of vacuums, especially since I know the vacuum cleaner sales trick of “Last one wins” where they clean the floor with your vac, then they use theirs, which pulls up more dirt. Wow, look at all the dirt your old vac left behind! Reverse this and your vac will be the one finding dirt left behind by the one they’re trying to sell.
We’ve got so many that our vacuum repair guy keeps saying we should join the club. (Not terribly obvious, but that’s the website for the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club.)
Happy Birthday, Spaz. Commiserations and get well, Swampy.
According to the Port of Stockton weather website we have risen above 50 degrees in the last few minutes. Although according to them the temp didn’t get down to freezing last night, and my windshield would beg to differ. Not that it was all iced up. There was just a little - sort of the lower quarter. I could see well enough to drive off with the defroster running.
This morning was lox and bagel with an English Muffin instead of a bagel and no lox. I could call it an English Muffin with cream cheese and green onion, but what would be the fun in that? I have mini-tomatoes for nibbling, so maybe I won’t hit the vending machine today. I can always hope.
With the holiday on Monday and a city closed Friday, this week is going to be short. There’s going to be two weeks like this in February. I’ve been making plans for them.
swampy, did you stop to think that perhaps you’re feeling ick because you’ve been remiss in sending me chocolate love offerings?? Might you be feeling guilt? Just wondering.
And by the way, I hope Emily is doing better after her fall yesterday. From your thread, it sounds like you’re going to be bruised and sore for awhile yet. Glad it wasn’t worse that it turned out to be.
I’m still in a lot of pain. I think tomorrow I will actually venture out into the world. Hey, at least it’s really cold outside, so maybe that’ll numb the pain. Although cold weather sometimes makes me cough, and it hurts to cough.
