I was glad to see Hipster was forced to cut his lengthy chin pubes. I didn’t think it was unreasonable–I’d prefer so see him in one of those beard guard things.
And not that I have any problem with anyone piercing any part of their body–wow, lots of face piercing!
Ramsey is still an ass.
Too many to remember, but highlights:
Non-chef trainer at $300 an hour is on my loser list, for sure.
I don’t like the large sweaty guy much.
Goivanni the non-waiter doesn’t know what polenta is???
I hate Lacey. What a whiney, eye-rolling, excuse making, lazy tw*t.

But not being able to describe ‘polenta’??? I’ve not had it in that form, but its a corn meal patty. (Like grits but fancier).
I could come up with SOMETHING–"It’s a sweet/savory corn cake served with cheese or other toppings. This menu item features…<tapdancing and bs ing at this point, but still!>
When Lacey said something like “They might think I’m just another hot girl trying to make it in the cooking world…” my wife and I both said “No, they won’t” at the same time. She and Colleen should be thanking their lucky stars that they “won.” The girls look like the stronger team again this year, but there is quite a bit of dead weight on both teams.
When Wil put himself up for elimination, I knew he was gone. Have these guys not watched the show before? Just because someone doesn’t play nice with the rest of the team doesn’t mean Ramsay cares. Ramsay is going to get rid of the person who didn’t perform. Like Jen last year, her team hated her, but she stuck around as long as she didn’t screw up.
It always takes a few episodes for me to really get into it, but hopefully this season will be better than the last one.
Before the show got rolling, my husband and I were listing the usual cast of characters: Big Fat Sweaty Guy, Sexist Pig with Awful Accent, Scary Bitch, Prima Donna…and as everyone was introduced, they fit right into their slots.
I hope Lacey lasts a long time, she’s a lot of fun to hate.
ETA: If Chef asked me to come up with a name for my team, I’d have chosen The Stupid Donkeys.
I love this show. I love Lacy and I love Non-Chef Cooking Teacher sooo much. Please let the women keep winning so that we can keep them.
The black woman annoyed me. She had a damn fit just because Lacy is an idiot. You have to learn to work with idiots, you can’t go all crazy, right?
Maaaannn…I can not get enough of Ramsey. He is pure entertainment.
The Stupid Donkeys is funny as hell. I love to hear him call people donkeys.

I fail to understand how these people can hold jobs as cooks yet they can’t cook pasta properly. What’s wrong with them? I have no culinary skills yet even I can cook the stuff.
Same here, in fact, I accidently put my mouse over the OP and knew who was going home before I even realized the season was starting (although I wasn’t sorry to see him go).
I hate Danny (I think that’s his name), hope he’s gone soon. Liked Carol (and she’s from here!) And Not-so-hot-as-she-thinks Lacey- I agree she and the faux culinary school teacher should be good comic relief. I’m sure the teacher especially will get BRUTAL treatment from Ramsey.
A pretty positive tasting all around, felt bad for the guy he said was the worst ever though. That means worse than the pumpkin with the chicken roasted inside it (or some ridiculous thing) from last? season.
It’s that stuff that comes out with the baby, isn’t it?
My wife and I just watched the show for the first time. I’m not sure I’ll keep watching. Not so much the sadism being glorified, but the sheer amount of bleeping of words makes it difficult to understand what the fuck is going on.
Often followed by “YOU’LL KILL SOMEONE!!!”
Good episode last night! I can’t wait for more clashes between Ramsay and Ms. Manners.

Colleen is old school midwest comfort cooking, I hope she can figure it out actually. I guess she reminds me of some aunts who make things like chicken enchiladas in cream sauce.
Robert (?) - the big guy - was being a great leader on the men’s side, I hope he can recover. The leadership might be a game he is playing, but it looked good.
Will didn’t have the cojones to be a top chef - just not tough enough.
Glad I saw this topic, ran to my dvr and sure enough it had recorded it based on my settings from last season.
What a crew. These early weeks are like the American Idol of Hell’s Kitchen. They throw in a few oddballs to get the major WTF response from the viewers.
I love Gordon Ramsay and will watch anything he’s on. The group this season seems to be a bit more capable than last season’s- although I did cringe when non-chef-teacher told Ramsay that she teaches manners, too. Eek.
BBC America is running The F Word again- I have my DVR set to record it so I won’t miss any. Completely different aspect of his personality on that show. It’s my favorite one of his shows.
I am a Top Chef addict, too, and I have always said that I’d LOVE to see Ramsay as a guest judge on Top Chef.
I believe Ramsay has a thing about overweight people period. While at it, I did think his ‘remark’ towards the overweight chef was little but bullying.
The redneck guy is from Florida, and he’s just like every guy in the town where I went to high school. I haven’t checked, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out he’s a Palatka boy…
