Help me brainstorm a domain name

My dad wants to start a site, and we’re trying to come up with a domain name.

Here is what he will be doing on the site:

1 - selling stuff he wants to get rid of… mostly electronics or photography equipment. At the moment he has a SCSI cd burner, some expensive camera lenses, etc.

2 - selling some replacement rollers for the Total Gym machine that he designed and is manufacturing himself.

3 - offering a film negative scanning service

4 - offering digital photo retouching

5 - service to put video tape onto CD or DVD

So it’s sort of eclectic. We are having a hard time coming up with a name… so I figured that I’d try to tap into the creative genius of the masses…

anything you can think of? Anything at all… post it… even if it doesn’t work, it may trigger an idea for someone else. Even just words to work off of… making new words from two other words… etc… descriptive words that you can think of that may apply… post it all and we’ll try to come up with something…

we only want .com addresses and I have no idea what kalevala means.

eclecticphoto and eclecticphoto are both available.

I don’t think we want to put anything specific (photo, etc) in the domain, because we don’t know what the focus will really be. For example, if the main focus turns out to be the rollers… it wouldn’t really fit anymore.

Have you considered two domain names/ sites? You seem to have two different elements that don’t really go together in a way that recommends a domain name. I think we are focusing on the photo/video portion as it is present in a number of the elements.

I second the idea of splitting up your enterprises.
Think yourself, do you generally buy your umbrellas at hotdogsNhaircuts.com ? That is the same kind of impression I would get from such a diverse site.

In regards to the items being sold, I wonder if Ebay or similar is not the best bet? Then he can focus his site on the imaging services. Given the type of services he is offering, might I suggest memories4ever.com ? The number feels a little gimpy at first, but its memorable :wink:

You type in three keywords, and an extension, and it not only generates random domain names, but will check 'em for availability too…

We’ve used ebay for some of his things, but for a number of them, checking ebay for similar items turns up other auctions…but with no bids.

Tir Tinuviel looks cool! I’m bookmarking it.

He is doing this as a very very very side thing… two domains would be excessive. We’re just getting him a domain name because fathom.org/randy is a little bit too casual.
