Because I’m not having much luck. Since Mrs. Polley & I adopted an andult cat, we’re kind of getting to know him & his personality with the hopes that he’ll ‘tell’ us his name. It hasn’t happened yet, so I turn to the smartest, hippest folks I have access to, the denizens of the SDMB, for some help.
He’s an adult, about 4 years old or so. He’s got longish grey hair. He’s quite mellow & friendly.
My last 2 cats were named Tarkin & Teekay (or TK421). I’m considering a third Star Wars themed name, but nothing seems to fit yet & I’m certainly not making that a condition of the name.
So…Dopers, got any ideas?
I thank you. My cat (who I’ve benn calling You-know-who) also thanks you.
We’ve tried Lord Voldormort, but it seems a little too regal for him. We’ve also tried Severus, Crookshanks and even Harry…but none of those seem to fit.
As for pictures, I’m at work right now with plans on going home (where my camera is) for lunch…I’ll dutifuly post pics then.
Zebulon. A biblical name, and also the first name of the explorer for whom Pikes Peak is named. (30 years ago I had a coworker who named her son Zebulon, and I’ve been waiting to use it for a cat ever since.)
If you’re using the names of Star Wars Imperial baddies, how 'bout “Ozzel” (as in Admiral Ozzel)? Bonus: it sounds kinda onomatopoetic re. purring sounds…
I thought of “Gandalf the Grey” when I saw his picture.
Very pretty! (not that Gandalf was pretty, but…) Probably not looking for a Tolkien name though. There are a bazillion of those.
The only SW name that come to mind right away is “Wedge”. I don’t know why, but think it’s kind of cute.
For Harry Potter names, how about Tom Riddle? Not as Lordly as he-who-must-not-be-named. Or Norbert after the dragon?
