In all fairness, I’m not convinced there are any more women who play that game than there are men who play the OP’s game of “Completely ignore her specific, explicit explanation of what will make her happy and kvetch about not knowing what she wants.” And in all honesty, I have to wonder just how many cases of the former are actually cases of the latter.
