Let us not bring up his Daughter, OK?
Let’s just not…bring that up.
What helped me move away from what I call the negative perfectionism of my father and my brother Ed was one, the realization that it kept them from doing things they enjoyed on account of not being “good enough” at it, two, that the only ones who thought they weren’t “good eough” were themselves, and three, that when it was other people doing the same things their notions of “good enough” were lower (where “other people” does not include their own children).
If it’s good enough when other people do it, it’s good enough when I do it. Doesn’t mean I shouldn’t do my best, just that I shouldn’t berate myself for not being “good enough” when I fucking well am.
Up, caffeinated, off to work. Tailgating this afternoon.
I got to sleep a few minutes past 5, so that’s sleeping in, sorta… right? Higgs has been fed, and at the moment, the dishwasher is washing. **FCD **had mentioned a few days ago that he wanted to go to a bike show in Colonial Beach - dunno if he still wants to, so I don’t know what the day holds.
We had a very loud, very intense, and very short t-storm last night. Just seconds after my sweetie brought Higgs in from her evening pee, stormageddon descended and raged for, maybe, 10 minutes. Then it was done. Weird. I’m wondering how many more branches were brought down…
That’s today’s chore - gathering all the sticks and branches that have fallen in the storms of this past week. Hard to tell how long it’ll take - some of the branches are hefty and will probably have to be dragged to the woods. Others can be piled in the wagon. But I need to get up as much as possible before we start to mulch/vac the leaves which are starting to cover the lawn. Autumn is here for sure.
Just another day in paradise. Happy Saturday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 83 for the day with maybe a chance of showers at some point. Or not. That’s pretty much what the weather PTB are sayin’.
Today’s big chore is to go help with mowage of the back forty over to the church house. I have already claimed “Little Red”, the new mower, as mine.
gotti glad you survived the remodel of the sinuses. Good to know you have a brain also. I had a heart catherization once. Nuttin’ was wrong. So I told people I had proof that not only do I have a heart, it’s a good one!
wiki I like both. However, since we’re havin’ steak tonight, I vote for steak.
OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. At some point I should purtify enough to presentable for bein’ seen in public.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
Up at 630 AM on a Saturday? Does not compute.
Showered and dressed. We’re off to breakfast, then to the bike show. rah.
Bbbllluuurrrfff
Happy Saturday!
Sometimes the bs that spews forth from my lips amazes even me
who am I trying to kid - ain’t a damn thing happy about today.
According to my phone it’s cloudy today but according to my window the sun is shining.
Looks to be a chilly day, its 51 degrees now and only getting up to 63.
I hardly slept last night and then had a nightmare which woke me about an hour ago.
I’ll be heading out to the armpit shortly. After I get a shower. It’s hard to get motivated.
Just who is the one bringing it up??? :dubious:
I was bragging about grades. :dubious:
Mebbe some looks &/or personality to go with those grades would’ve gotten you a date w/ the dean’s daughter. :dubious: :o
Glad you weren’t blown away by a tornado, spidey.
Eating brunch then it’s chores and baking corn muffins for the bonfire tonight. And I need to look for my C tenor recorder for campfire music.
Howdy Y’all! Mowage of the back forty has been accomplished along with a shower plus the makeage and eatage of N.O.L. We had hotdawgs with chili, cheese, slaw and onions as desired and chips. I was in the mood for a plain hotdawg with mustard. I et two of 'em and they were gooooood!
Plans for the rest of the day include nappage, sloth and the makeage of dindin which will be steak, N.O.T., sallit and cheesey French bread. But first, nappage shall ensue shortly.
I did make an accidental discovery yesterday. Neither the MRI tech or myself noticed that I was wearing my wedding ring in the magnet room. Oops!
At least I know my tungsten carbide ring is MRI-safe. Didn’t vibrate or get hot. Your ring may vary, so don’t get mad if an MRI scanner yanks your ring off.
And now, time to mow the back forty. Really more like mowing the back four…
I still has a blurf
The second annual Colonial Beach Bike Fest was a joke. There were 2 bike vendors, one guy selling lights, one doing pin striping, one doing some kind of bike tune-up thing, and the rest of the booths were food, t-shirts, jewelry, pillows (??) and assorted crap that you see at home shows and such. I think we walked the whole thing in an hour. It took longer to drive there!!! But it’s a pretty day, so it was a nice drive.
I just finished picking up sticks and branches. I’d mow if the ground wasn’t so soggy - I’ll do it Moanday. **FCD **took the trash and recycling, and now he’s designing something on his computer. I was going to smoke a chickie today, but there’s not enough time, so I’ll rotiss it for supper instead. Leftovers will become chickie soup - yum!
Nappage has been achieved and general sloth has followed since. I have N.O.T. on to boil as I post they will take a little while to get done. OYKW will man the grill and cook the steaks when it’s time.
That’s the current news from swampland.
Chickie is nearly done rotissing. Sides will be prepared when the chickie is done. Supper will be mega-yum!
**FCD **is snoozing on the couch with a puppeh snuggled up to him. I was crocheting with a lap full of cat. I expect I’ll have a lap full of cat later when I resume the position. It’s chilly in here and Taz doesn’t like to be cold. Wussy cat…
I hab a cold. Sniffle.
Congrats to Spidey and Mooom on surviving their thundering adventures.
Yay for the A to Sari son.
Congrats to Gotti on surviving sinuses.
And
Blurf.
